It is supposed to be a subsonic round that uses AR mags, AR bolts in AR uppers that can be suppressed in MP5 length barrels while still being lethal and effective. It does this very well but like other anon said, it's such a niche that no one uses it for that.

Any shorter or longer you lose significant velocity.

In a rifle with an 8-10 inch barrel, 300meme will hit with greater energy (not velocity) when shooting at ranges typical for an sbr.

In a carbine/rifle length system, 300 meme will fall out of the air much faster than 5.56.

tl;dr the only reason to get 300meme is if you already have a lot of mags or would have an easier/cheaper time building a 5.56 platform versus another weird caliber.
