Oh, it's yuri bait for sure. White Rose is Jesus. But honestly? I started watching because it was fun and goofy, and because Nora exists. And Ruby herself is pure /k/. A total autist obsessed with and possibly sexually attracted to guns, with exactly zero people skills but an extensive, near-encyclopedic knowledge of weapons. The only caveat is she actually uses hers. Fuck you, I enjoy it. It's not the best thing ever, not by any stretch of the imagination, but it's generally worth my time. And it gets WAY better as you watch, because the techniques and tools RT has access to get better and they become more practiced/experienced themselves. And volume three gets real.

They have a white rapper among their musical """talent""". I think that about sums RWBY up as far as quality is concerned.
The world building is... ok. It's nothing innovative but at least it isn't just a series of tropes and ripoffs, although there are a great deal of both.
Character development is the one point where some effort seems to have been made, despite being largely non-existent prior to the [no spoilers on /k/]. Some main characters have been completely left at the wayside while background characters grow which is an odd choice to say the least.
Overall I rate the series a 4/10. I cannot recommend watching it as this time, however there is hope for the future for those of us who are already invested.
