I'm planning to buy my first gun, and would like some advice.
I'm looking for a double action revolver under $600.
I will be using it mainly for home defense and target practice. My priorities are:
1) reliability, 2) low-maintenance, 3) accuracy.
Any suggestions?

Ruger GP100 or Ruger Security Six are your best bets.
Should I try to get this?

Thank you friend.
I've shot a few Rugers and I quite liked them.
What is your opinion on the S&W 686 and the 69920 Pitbull?

If you can afford a bit more, that's nice.

Seconding this. The Ruger SP101 is another good choice.

Save that .44 Magnum for a later purchase.
If you want a DA revolver for your first gun, you definitely want to get one that can shoot .38 Special. It's the most common and least expensive revolver ammo available that isn't rimfire--which translates to more possible practice time with less expense involved-- and it also has a long and distinguished track record of putting down two-legged predators.
SW686+ and never look back.
Not OP but I've been considering a S&W 586
But I can't decide between 4" or 6"
Leaning towards the 6"
Opinions?

Yes, as long as the price of .44 ammo isn't an issue for you.
