it looks retarded and the ergos suck
>>
>>32973535
still don't get it as long as it functions whats the problem?
>>
>>32973528
No shit, right!
There made by the same company that makes folks that makes glocks.
It'd be a fuckin bargain at twice the price.

>>32973528
it's actually pretty bad, though

Hi Points are the only guns I know of where the factory mags are worse than ProMags.
>>
>>32973606
Why buy one then?
>>
>>32973606
Id buy one just to have a gun.
>>
>>32973692
memes and something to spray paint
also I was hoping it was going to be better than it is
I'm sourcing some parts to make it better, but I don't expect much. A good magazine is the #1 factor for any self loading firearm and good hi point magazines don't exist.
>>
>>32973528
it weighs like 5 pounds.
>>
>>32973528
/k/ hates poorfag guns

The Hi-Point gets extra crap for not even being that great of a gun
>>
>>32973708
Theres a lot better cheap choices that are better. Get a keltec pf9 for 250 or a polish p83 for 200
>>
>>32973528
Heavy as shit
>>
>>32973708
For just a bit more, you can get a Bulgarian Mak or a Polish 9x18 pistol

Those guns don't use 9x19, but they're much better pistols
>>
>>32973528
i've owned a .40 hp. will prob buy a 9mm just to have for cheap plinking
>cheap
>reliable
>accurate
not a bad choice for a poorfag that needs a gun. is also a nice piece to have for a beater gun. something to abuse and not give a fuck. not a good gun, but it has its place.
>>
>>32973528
I bought one pretty much new for 110 bucks. I tinker with it , I stippled it and now it's more shootable. Next i am going to mill the slide to make it lighter.
>>
>>32973528
No it's not bad really, it's just useless as a carry gun - whether it be OC or CC. Also the factory mags have been below par up until recent times
>>
>>32973528
Objectively speaking, it shoots and it won't blow up in your hands. If that's all you need then sure it isn't that bad. The reason people mock it is because the handling is subpar, the construction is crude and it's simply not made for what most people expect out of a handgun.

tl;dr the same reason most people wouldn't take a slingshot over an AR
>>
Hijacking this bait thread

Buying a new CC/HD pistol soon, I've already decided on a 9mm polymer, but I have a conundrum for /k/: H&K VP-9 or Walther PPQ?
>>
>>32973528
They've been a viable dirt cheap option for a long time, the only issues in the past were mags.
That said, it's a low cap blowback in an age of $250 dollar high cap CZ clones and cheap Turkshit that actually conforms to NATO standards, plus there is always the classic slavshit option.

>Same amount of money buys you a 9mm or .45ACP derringer that you can stuff in a pocket
>20-40 dollars more buys you a mag fed Diamonback or Taurus .380 pocket pistol, a little more than that lands you a kel tec - all are workable.
-100 dollars more buys you a Turkshit or EAA plastic high cap CZ that is waay, waaaaaay above the quality expected for this price range
>>
>>32973528
It's useless outside of a bathroom gun or toolbox/tackle box gun or backup truck gun. You can't carry it.
>>
>>32974753
Walther PPQ
>>
>>32974618
I wouldn't do that, High points operate off of blow back and they need their weight to operate safely
>>
>>32974802
That was quick. I was kinda leaning that way anyway, both because of the mag release and because I've heard the construction is better for the Walther, but I wanted a second opinion. Thanks /k/.

>>32973528
It's insanely unaesthetic.
>>
It's bulky, low capacity blowback that won't feed hollowpoints and is made from melted down hotwheels

Other than that it's shit
>>
>>32974039
>You can get a gun with semi-obscure ammo as opposed to a gun that will go bang or they replace it for free while being able to get ammo literally anywhere
>>
>>32974909
The PPQ is well made. Walther makes good pistols.
>>
>>32975009
9x18 isn't semi-obscure. Sure there isn't as much of it as 9x19, but it's not hard to find.
>or they replace it for free
The fact that they need such a policy in the first place should be setting off warning bells.
>>
>>32975076
It's not a testament to the durability of the gun. Just its inexpensiveness. They'll replace it even if its blatantly your fault.

Last time I was in academy I didn't see any 9x18 at all
>>
>>32974909
Trigger is one of the best for a striker, as well.
>>
>>32975124
it's like $15 a box, vs $10 a box for 9x19mm

For what it's worth.
>>
>>32975076
Semi-obscure is exactly what 9x18 is. It's even less commonly on shelves than 32 ACP, 7mm Mauser, or 300 BLACKED.
>>
>>32975293

>on shelves

This would have been a valid point ten years ago, but we've reached the point where there's no real need to buy ammo from a brick-and-mortar store anymore.

The last time I actually bought ammo in person was one box of Federal HST's in early 2013.
>>
>>32973606

Never had a failure to feed in mine, bromigo. 3,000 rounds, never cleaned it. Was my first gun

It's actually a versatile, customizable platform.
>>
>>32974806
I know that I'm only going to mill in a few slide serrations and slots for a see all sight or other cheap reddot
>>
>>32974792
Local OC guy carries/carried on in a $12 nylon holster that makes Uncle Mike's look good. OWB appendix carry at that. Poor guy.
>>
>>32973528
In terms if function, you're right. The only issue with it is size and weight. If you're a poorfag nogunz then you should get one to keep by the bedside but once you get your CCDW you should consider getting something more discreet.

old hi point.jpg
53KB, 640x480px
Hi points would be bumped up to at least a 5.5/10 if they stuck with or returned to the older model design.
>>
>Pros
Goes bang.
Reliable.
Accurate thanks to fixed barrel.
Affordable.

>Cons
Unergonomic.
Low capacity thanks to single stack mags.
Heavy and bulky.
Stiff recoil thanks to straight blowback.
Poor trigger.

They're great guns if you consider what they're made for. I have one, and I have guns worth 100x as much. Would I recommend one? Depends. No other poorfag guns come close to the price range but I'd advise holding out another hundo for an sd9ve, sccy, or can it. If you don't have that option, a hi point is perfectly serviceable.

>implying everyone wants to wait 2-5 days for ammo to show up.

Sometimes people need to get ammo in a hurry famalam
>>
>>32979590
sd9ve's are actually worse guns as far as reliability and accuracy are concerned.
>>
>>32979610
I've never experienced reliability issues and accuracy differences are negligible for their role.
>>
>>32973528
This gun is the wet dream of every wannabe banger piece of shit in the USA.

Things you'll never find with a C9:
> Serial number
> Correct caliber rounds loaded

t. cop
>>

Alright I'm gettin a lil hard over that model right now, lookin like a damn Goldeneye gun
