explain this shit
>>
You can magdump an entire magazine of .22 in the time it takes to shoot somebody twice with a bigger caliber
>>
>>32973245

yea, I dont get why they incuded shotguns, either
>>
>>32973245
Criminals use .22 more often as they are easier to get hold of.
A "gunfight" stat may be skewed by a fucking nigger mag dumping .22 into an unarmed target.

This chart isn't on the lethality of the ammo used so much as who died by it.

So many variables could effect why this is the case, such as how common the ammo and the guns that use it, how close the people who died were, was it a one sided gunfight, etc.

On a side note, have this rat that looks like a penis.

>22 is weak

This. The rest are pistol calibers.
>>
>>32973245
there are a fuckton of cheap .22 pistols and rifles out there OP
you should know this
>>
>>32973374
does that rat have blackheads in its whiskers?
>>
>>32973245
It looks like proof that there is no correlation between caliber and lethality
>>
>>32973245
>.380 and .38 Special that high

Conceal carry guys must be racking up large body counts
>>
>>32973245
>Default Excel chart
>Taking it as a TOTALLY scientific and inclusive study of the lethality of a limited number of calibers.

I really hope this data set doesn't keep getting used out of context. Drawing conclusions in this way is such a poor use of these data.
>>
>>32973715
actually the FBI and NYPD from the 1950's to the 1970's allowed officers to carry .38 caliber backup guns. Trained shooters in the post war era were rare but lethal and had impressive body counts before ACLU joo lawyers and poor post 1970 police training fucked it all up.
>>
>>32973245

Oh boy, here we go.

>Conflating "stopping" with "killing"

There is a reason why people in the self-defense community use the term "stopping a determined attacker" instead of "killing your target"

You can inflict deadly wounds on someone without quickly or effectively stopping them. You can easily kill someone with .22 LR if you nick a major artery, that doesn't mean you are going to be able to stop a determined attacker with .22LR just as easily.

Also, shotguns are nasty.

.22 bounces around inside a nigga. Often times it enters the cardiovascular system and goes straight to the heart.
>>
>>32973245
.22s have been known to cause nasty infections and usually kills the person shot after a few days.

It's a fucking bullet. Ignoring all the /k/ memes and shit, it's still a piece of lead flung at high speed at your body, and it's very much fucking dangerous.

God damn. I'm going to buy a shotgun today.

they're trying to hide the fact that 10mm results in fatalities 120% of the time
>>
>>32973245
.22 would also rate highest in shootings without fatalities. Shotguns as well. Thousands of people get shot with #8 shot while hunting dove, but past 100 yards, the worst it does is put out an eye. Also, if you grouped all shotguns and .22s together, they make up more of the existing guns in the U.S. than all other civilian guns combined.

those are results from 1800 gunfights

>>
they're including AR15s in the 22 category
>>
>>32981659
Yep. You can hunt anything from squirrel to moose with a shotgun. I Know lots of gun owners who are not gun nuts that only own a .22 and a 12 gauge.
>>
>>32981762
.22 (short, long and long rifle)

# of people shot - 154
# of hits - 213
% of hits that were fatal - 34%
Average number of rounds until incapacitation - 1.38
% of people who were not incapacitated - 31%
One-shot-stop % - 31%
Accuracy (head and torso hits) - 76%
% actually incapacitated by one shot (torso or head hit) - 60%

read the article people
>>
>>32973245
.22 is fast enough to enter the head, but not fast enough to leave, so it bounces around in your skull and destroys your brain.
>>
>>32981402
>.22 close second to shotty.
Really razzles my dazzle.
