Building a semi 16" bbl PPSH41 because a pps43 is a scary assault weapon in NY. Just lost a gunbroker auction tonight for a one-slice saw cut receiver that would've made the build a fuck ton easier, I'm pretty pissed about that but those sell for waaaaaaay overpriced amounts anytime they go up on GB. Fuck, what doesn't?
Damn dude, I've never even seen a WA 2000 kit anywhere. I wish I had the green to blow on an mp-40 kit but those always go 2-4 grand. Really want to work on an mg-42 too and apex has those parts sets with a barrel for like $530 or something right now IIRC. I need to jump on that before they sell out. I'd probably build it in .308 and only use the 8mm parts every now and then. What're you working on OP? (Besides being undercover ATF trying to find a reason to shoot my dog)

>tfw too poor to buy a Walther WA2000 partskit
Why would you even do this?
Bought a Savage 111 in .308 today. The first one the guy gave me to finger was a left handed model, and I felt like I was holding a cute puppy no one else was paying attention to at a shelter (I'm left handed). I want to go to the range next weekend and get it zeroed in cause I know no one with land in this state. I'd really like to make this a distance shooter, so the next likely steps are bedding it and getting decent glass.
>>32974458
savage a shit
I want to make a simple franken-rifle. For older simple single shot .22 bolts, how big of a diffference would it be if I do not have the correct one?
>>32972758
WA 2000 partskit? Why would such a thing exist?
>>32975599
dk but i know at one point there was a .22 version of it. saw some dude at the range with it a few months back.
idk if it was a parts kit or hes just a nerd that did it himself in the garage or something.
>>32975233
Nice post buddy :D
>>32976108
There a few were kits made to tart up 10/22s.
Like every other rare gun. If you can't buy it you can at least get the body kit.
I've got a few 3D models, but nothing finalized just yet. Tend to bounce around between a bunch of different projects.
>>32972758
Grabbing my FID when I get the tax return, then finishing my 80 percent lower. I'd be an edgy ghostgunner, but I'm not looking to be a felon. MK18 is gonna be fly as fuck tho my dude
>>32976187
Hurry up and finish.
Your design is beautiful.
I like you.
Serious question.
When you buy a parts kit what prevents you from reassembling it in its full auto configuration? For example a Suomi M31, Its got simple cuts that are easily re-welded
>>32976226
I mean, the only OC in it really is the stock. Still need to model the safety so I can make an appropriate cutout on the right flange for it. The only reason I haven't worked on this one in a while is that I need to get a replacement part for my printer.
>>32976251
Fear of consequences, of course. Do you know how much it costs to shoot something in full auto!? :^)
>>32976332
So theres nothing, I've over thought this shit too much.
Only want something of the nature for the 1 in a million chance something would go down where I live
>>32976360
Hypothetically of course.
>>32976360
Honestly, unless you've got enough people well versed in squad tactics to merit suppressing fire, you're better off with a semi automatic in most cases.
>>32976388
Use it in a place of a shottie, round a corner or in a building something of that nature would dominate with a high enough cyclical rate.
>Hypothetically
is there a reliable community of people to guide one in the building of a kit, besides here.
>>32976410
Hypothetically burning through your mag in half a second isn't tactically advantageous, man.
Seriously: Get a semi-auto and practice with it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCIgpUTvfsA
>>32976251
Physically? Not much on a lot of kits.
Legally? A shit ton. First you have to apply for a Class III license, pay a $1000 tax, and it has to be for business purposes only (I.e. selling to Mil/LE).
>>32976457
>That doesn't stave off the curiosity nor the burning desire to have it.
(Hypothetically)
>>32976498
As a lawful alternative (if you live in the US), you could get a slidefire stock.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvLt8-Wf7r0
>>32976498
>>32976522
Or less lawful but extremely easy to source if shit goes south...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbNO7ich0ns
>>32976522
I've looked in to those and binary trigger that fires twice in a single trigger pull. Its just some itch to have one is whats getting to me. You'd be unmatched in the close quarters, regardless of the ammo expended.
>>32976307
What are you planning on doing with all the room in the back of the stock? Barrel storage? Ammo reserve?
>>32976251
because doing so is very fucking naughty, citizen
>>32976410
>>32976558
Or just, you know, shoot them once in the fucking head.
>>32976675
It's meant to be printed, so the first one won't have anything special going on in the back.
If it's sturdy enough, I'll consider putting stuff in the back or making it a pistol grip stock instead of a thumbhole. Maybe even folding and/or telescopic?
>>32976710
I haven't mastered Dead Eye yet man, this is a sure fire way.
>>32976845
There's an old saying... "You can't miss fast enough to win a gunfight".
Full auto does not compensate for practice. Why do you think they like to limit guns used by poorly trained draftees to burst fire?
>>32974350
because 3.5k isn't much for a WA 2000 partskit
and it's probably the closest thing I could ever get to a real WA 2000
>>32974325
> What're you working on OP?
fuddy five Lee Enfield
currently 3D-CAD designing a magadapter for Grease Gun magazines
I might even do one for Glawk mags
>>32976451
weaponsguild and weaponeer
/k/ is usually not to be trusted
>>32978583
Nice, There's something really appealing to me about pistol caliber rifles lately. They're cute.
>>32978583
if you actually end up make one take glock mags, Ill buy one, and I live bloody Australia.
>>32976187
should I be working in solidworks or inventor?
>>32979443
I will not sell these, instead I'll upload them somewhere and take a "pay as much as you want" payment method
so, if you want it for free, you can dl it 43
>>32974325
Sorry to hear the 43 won't work for you man.
>>32976251
$100,0000 and 10 years in federal prison as well as fucking up current and future career opportunities. Not to mention losing my right to own firearms ever again.
>>32976187
that looks identical to a Henry AR7
whats the point
>>32976479
no you would need an FFL 07 and a Class 2 SOT, newfag
>>32976457
god I almost came when he used his match saver in the movie
From another thread, really eyeing this bargain bin AR build for a first gun/fun project. From the AK thread however there seems to be a general negative sentiment toward PSA kits, I mean AK and AR are obviously different beasts. Just wondering if the quality issues are across the board with PSA, get what you pay for I guess but this is a deal and a half.
http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-20-rifle-length-5-56-nato-1-7-melonite-a2-freedom-rifle-kit.html
>>32981673
their ARs are good and the AKs are better in the Gen 2
And I'd hardly consider a complete upper a build project
You put a few parts ina lower and slap it on the upper
>>32981694
As a complete retard with no prior gun experience it's a project to me. Sorta like building as computer, big-boy legos will let me pretend I have some technical know how!
>>32981673
PSA's ar parts function fine IME. Mil-spec is mil-spec. I have a ptac upper (reputed to be the shittiest of the bunch) and have no problems with a well lubed rifle firing steel cased cheap ammo.
>>32981700
You'll have technical know how at the end. It's a simple project but a good starter project.
>>32979478
Solidworks.
>>32981435
That's because it IS an AR-7.
Having an accurate model of the AR-7 kinda helps when making accessories and/or replacement components for it.
>>32982585
Why the fuck would you want to make aftermarket stuff for an AR-7? Those things are heaping piles of shit
I'm probably going to polish and reblue my IJ-70 mak because the finish is garbage and it sounds fun
>>32982613
The AR-7 is actually pretty impressive from an engineering standpoint. I was always pretty harsh on it myself until I actually sat down and started studying it. I appreciate it a lot more, now.
Still fucking hate reassembling the trigger mechanism, though. Why the fuck didn't they just weld or press-fit that fucking pin into the trigger?!
>>32979478
Take your pick, they're both babby's first CAE package.
>>32972758
I had no idea those existed
>>32982655
That's Eugene Stoner for you.
>>32982826
Yup, that can service one of the 10 rifles in the country. You can actually buy one NIB from the CEO of Walther Arms cause he owns all but 2.
>>32976948
Because they forgot about the fact thar Fire and Maneuver is about pinning the enemy, not hitting them. You hit them after you've out flanked them and negated their cover entirely, or you circumvent their cover with heavy munitions.
>>32974325
What fcg group are you going to use on the 43? I hear you can modify a 870 trigger group to work but it's a PITA
>>32982868
Did you miss the "poorly trained" part?
They wanted to avoid people panic-dumping their ammo.
I wanna build a PPs43, but can't weld for shit. What do?
>>32972758
Been trying to fuck this fat girl from work. I think she's coming around. That'll do pig.
>>32983241
>Having sex with coworkers
Bad idea, Anon. Bad idea.
>>32972758
Trying to unfuck the DPMS 308 parts kit I got from a shady small time company on a whim.
>>32982845
Whats the receiver like? Stamped? Tubed?
>>32983201
lrn2weld?
>>32972758
I'd like to make an approximate clone of the m60 with a degree of accurization.
To hell with going whole hog for authenticity, i just like the look of it
>>32983757
I guess
I designed and 3D printed a new grip for my rhino, it's super comfy.
Debating whether or not I should plastidip it or not.
>>32982922
Not sure about the 43 but the 41 can but welded in semi both on the selector and with a small piece of metal internally that will prevent full auto. I'm going to cut the bolt to make it striker fired. If I was going to do hammer fired, it'd need a whole new fcg. I've heard of people using an sks fcg with sucess also.
I have limited metalwork experience, but want to build something that isn't an AR. What should I look into? Pic unrelated.
I've got a whole bunch of /k/ projects in progress.
>AR-10 with CAR stock
Basically done. I'd like to swap out a grip one of these days.
>AR-10 with A2 stock
I have a longer list to do--like swap for a 308 carbine stock assembly and get an MFT Minimalist, as well as swap for an Aero scope mount.
>Stripped AR-10
I have an LPK and that's about it. I'm thinking of an 18" build but not yet sure...
>>32985483
build a 75mm field gun, it's easy
>>32985675
>AR-15 with CAR stock
Probably doing an 18" precision build with this lower.
>AR-15 with Magpul stock
Basically finished as a shitty Magpul rifle (MOE handguard, MOE grip, ACS-L stock).
>Stripped AR-15
Will probably do a flat-top M16 build with this. Also undecided. I'm tempted to say fuck it and turn it into a pistol build instead.
>>32984737
how goes the search for the benis cad file...does it have tendies?
>>32985759
Found one, but it's all fugged. Might be able to use ninja ripper to steal many benises.
>>32985705
And my final real project...
>Glock Brand Glocknade 19 Genock 3lock
Awaiting my frame. I'm going to refinish the slide.
And my next project...
>1911
Sarco plus 80% slide, I think.
No current projects but I really want a mossberg MVP right now and get a nice piece of glass for it.
I'd also like to build an M4gery to go along with my A4gery. I would also like to get the proper tools to keep building AR15s
More than anything I should just get some more ammo for the guns I've already got.
>>32985483
FAL if you have the tools, or access to them
>>32985483
>>32985881
I don't, and I'm a cheap cunt.
>>32985483
Second for FAL. If you live in the northeast you can borrow tools
>>32986188
I live in the Deep South and have no tools. I'll look into it though.
>>32986703
Try a sten or a pps43? The parts are crazy cheap.
>>32976251
>what prevents you from reassembling it in its full auto configuration?
Physically? Nothing. Most open bolt subgun designs are significantly easier to build into their factory configurations, than as a semi-auto.
Hell, the only thing stopping you from having a sawn off shotgun is ten minutes and a handsaw.
The issue is the feds. It's just not worth the risk.
STEN Mk3 kit, I am pretty lost
>>32984737
plastidip probably won't last long on a grip.
>>32987112
I second this, especially with gloves that have any sort of abrasiveness
>>32987112
With enough coats it might, I'm going to try it out on another print at the very least.
>>32984737
Plastidip a shit, it does not hold up well on stuff you use repeatedly. Just get some self etching paint
>>32986888
Can I do the sten without welding?
>>32987567
Welders regularly go on sale at harbor freight or tractor supply company for ~$100. Find some scrap steel, watch some youtubes and practice before doing the gun. Bam you just aquired a new skill/ability. It'll take like two weeks and you'll be good at it. Learn to understand the basics because it is a really simple thing.
