Be careful in Milwaukee, I've heard if you're on the wrong side you'll get shot if you're not black. Outside of that theres not much to be concerned about. Also try cheese curds if you havent had them yet

Not aware of any CC quirks. There's no place to shoot near Madison, other than a cleverly hidden DNR range in Yellowstone Park and Deerfield Pistol and Archery, both an hour or so away.

Eat at the Old Fashioned downtown. Get their cheese curds, and an Old Fashioned.

The only ccw quirk in WI is that while you can have your carry piece in a bar, you cannot be served alcohol while doing so. It's also a gray area about the BAC you can have in your system while carrying in general. Use your best judgement here (ie don't drink and carry)

Da UP, like Chicago, was supposed to be Wisconsin's territory. It was given up for a different reason then Chicago was, but it happened before WI became an actual state. I don't quite remember the whole story, but we had Wisconsin History in High School and I remember a bit of it.
