The .22 is a fantastic round. Out of all my guns I have the most fun with my 10/22. It's also a perfectly serviceable round for hunting. It can take anything from a squirrel to a deer with minimal spoilage of the meat due to damage. You just have to have good shot placement. Actually if it wasnt around I think you'd have something like Nailgun blanks that had a projectile you just loaded onto the tip yourself.

The blanks, plus these projectiles (being like pellets) and itd be cheap as fuck and probably just as shitty reliable. But people would stand behind it.

And to be pretty honest im not exactly against rimfire...

But it needs to be a larger caliber in my opinion, it needs more mass. Im thinking .30 caliber. Needs to be a longer case too, like the .22wmr.

Would make an Excellent self defense round, and heavier bullets would make it a reliable sporting round.

Its rimfire so feeding would still be an issue but only because of magazines, it could be adapted the same way the .357mag autos do it. Being a wider case will make it easier to feed.

And if you need alot of capacity, why are you using a cheap sporting round for hunting and target practice. If you want more than 7 capacity you need to get into shooting autos.
