Our laws in Mississippi are good and keep getting better. Don't need a CC permit if gun is in a purse, satchel, fanny pack or whatever. Pretty much everybody has a piece in their vehicles. Can shoot/hunt anywhere outside of city limits (90% of state is outside city limits). No restrictions on gun types except at federal level. Even have tax free gun buying days. I'm hoping to move to NC pretty soon after I finish school. I'm in WI right now and the laws are pretty damn good other than not being able to just plink on public land.

NC looks pretty comparable other than slightly stricter ccw laws and the pistol permit thing. But the tech jobs, weather, and climate are worth it I think.

We dont like it very much. Land is too expensive 40k per acre on the low end if you want to be outside of town but have reasonable commute, most of the area where we are is farm land so trying to buy any of that is freaking ridiculous.

I've lived in Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth Kansas. I've driven the entirety of the state from East to West and vice versa 3 times. I've driven through North to South twice. I've also lived in Potsdam NY, Watertown NY, Fort Drum NY, Syracuse NY, Ft. Sill OK, Vandenberg AFB CA, Pismo Beach CA, Salinas CA, Cary/Morrisville/Raleigh NC, Arlington VA, Uijeongbu Korea, Seoul Korea, and Chicago IL. Those are all places I've actually lived, I'm not counting places I've travelled to.

Kansas was by far the worst, and it's entirely inappropriate to consider Kansas' landscape beautiful.
