Do YOU own any bakelite?
>>32942892
No, and neither do you. You own AG-S4.
>>32942892
I wish. I just own one of the modern plastic mags that's colored to look like bakelite.
Yup. Got them from the Kommando Store too. There was a sale and mags were $27 each.
>>32942892
Nope.
Something about the 7.62 bakelites just fucks with my head.
I'm waiting to get a '74 before I get any.
4
>>32942892
No.
I think it looks ok on a ak-74 rifles with wood stocks to match up with, otherwise it's pretty ugly.
>>32942892
ye mang
>>32942892
we need to get one of these /k/ompanies to make bakelite AR furniture
I want a bakelite A1 handguard pretty fuckin bad.
>>32944939
I heard kommando store was a scam, and im assuming your a fucking shill.
>>32945011
those gloves look comfy. where to get?
Look at me. This is my bakelite now.
I don't own enough of of
Just a lil bit

They had ONE problem ONE time with some Rhodie camo that wasn't really their fault, they had a bad supplier. They never scammed anyone and are one of the OG /k/ merchants.
>>32946128
>Bakelite AR mags
>>32946129
They're not a scam so much as just retards who honestly thought people would buy bakelite mags for $140 each because they were "museum grade"
>>32948144
>>32946128
I assume it wouldn't be difficult; Russian "Bakelite" is actually glass-impregnated resin, and Atlantic Firearms already carries a "Bakelite" stock set for AK's.
Though I've never seen a pair of new production A1 handguards, so that might be a challenge.
>>32942892
>>32948272
Ha, that actually looks like Bakelite unlike AG-S4.
>>32942906
>>32949442

Utterly BTFO
>>32949056
>tfw you don't have ALL the bakelite

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-74
>The original steel-reinforced 30-round AK-74 detachable box magazine was similar to that of the AKM, except for minor dimensional changes required by the 5.45×39mm cartridge. These rust-colored magazines are often mistakenly identified as being made of Bakelite (a phenolic resin), but were actually fabricated from two-parts of AG-S4 molding compound (a glass-reinforced phenol-formaldehyde binder impregnated composite), assembled using an epoxy resin adhesive.
>>32949715
Why are you salty? Change what you call things and be done. I don't even understand how this shit ever even got to be called Bakelite since the Russians didn't do that and us Westerners should have been familiar enough with the stuff to realize that shit wasn't Bakelite.
>>32951372
I'm not salty at all, I've been aware of AG-S4 for likely longer than you.
It's what's known as a colloquialism, you pedant.
>inb4 clip/mag
And because chemically, they're cousins.
AG-S4
>glass-reinforced phenol-formaldehyde
>epoxy resin
Bakelite
>thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin, formed from a condensation reaction of phenol with formaldehyde.

>A pile of boxes on a pallet is proof of our legitimacy
I'm not shilling for the "NE is a scam, REEE" meme, but come on this doesn't prove anything.
>>32942892
I'd rather not buy mags that will shatter into a million pieces if they get sneezed on.
>>32942892
>Let's make the magazines orange so you can see them half a mile away
>>32942892
Just this one
bakelight is beautiful
how do they compare to stamped / plastic mags
what about bakelight furniture
>>32955520
>what about bakelight furniture
What about it?
It's pretty sexy.
Serious question.... Does it rot and goes brittle like some plastics?
>>32944939
Good for you. I think my two were $39 each.
And I don't own an AK yet.
>>32956873
I think not. Original US Bakelite radios made in 1930s still intact and highly collectible.
>>32958109
This isn't real Bakelite, though. I haven't seen any issues with these magazines, however, I don't know how long they may last.
>>32942892
;_;
>>32942892
>>32952366
>And because chemically, they're cousins.
I'm going to stop you here. Sure, they use similar chemicals in their production, but the final products are quite different. This is like saying charcoal and a diamond are cousins, they are, but you can't interchange them.
>>32961357
Except bakelite and AG-S4 are a lot closer on the spectrum to each other than charcoal and diamonds are.
And I said that as to the reason to why they are referred to as "bakelite", not necessarily to explain their exact composition.
This subject has been debated to death, and no matter how much you autistically spaz out about it, they will always be called "bakelite".
Actually no, not a single piece of any AK related bakelite
>>32942892
ya
no magazines cause cuckafornia
I have a bakelite handle on my guitar case
>>32946129
nope not a scam never had problems with Ivan other than the time some modox gear got held up in customs or modox shipped the wrong thing cant remember which, neither was Ivans fault. No scams just has some stuff a bit overpriced on occasion and had issues with the supplier for rhodesian camo.
