I think it's because the general attitude of newfags and noguns is the most hostile and toxic here more than any other board
Now it's slow as fuck and a 1/3 of /k/ is /pol/
A 1/3 of /k/ is reddit
And a 1/3 of /k/ is straight up communist
My theory is that the ATF is slowly pecking away at the board population by raiding all the hasguns little by little

As an old fag, the board was more engaging when some politics was allowed. Even though the trolling could get annoying, it attracted more users to the board.

For me, contributing by coming up with informative threads like gun builds was a lot of work and over time the positive feedback kept dwindling. Why bother to put the effort into making a good thread if nobody cares enough to engage?

That and I would bring a rare piece of hardware here and it seemed like nobody would initially seem to care except for a lurker or two would mention it later somewhere else.


But really, moderation here is too tight. Before, it seemed like there were no mods. Now, it's almost like this isn't 4chan at all, just another firearms discussion board.
