my 2nd line is a first spear stt plate carrier. I use kdh systems armor plates. I wear 3 pig bombers on the front, and a hsgi taco on my support side. I wear taco on my front support side and one further back on my belt to ensure they don't overlap and bump into each other. I do this to keep the weight of another m4 magazine off of my belt, even if it's a slower draw and slightly more obtrusive on my plate carrier.

upcoming changes include a bfg tourniquet now strap, removing the admin pouch, adding a radio and radio pouch, and possibly moving the tyr tactical ifak back onto the carrier if I do buy the bfg micro trauma kit now.

It's nice to have two options I.e. Plate carrier and chest rig. And idk what your philosophy is, but to me it makes more sense to do what your saying, just have one set up, and keep evolving and training with it.

I'm really liking the ares armor micro belt but I'm interested in hearing other recommendations since I currently don't have a decent 1st line belt to run with my chest rig. Would like to stay under $150 but if I can get away with under 100 even better.

With such a minimalist setup I think you'll find wearing the pack as an actual backpack is the way to go.

No IFAK=0/10 r8. TQ is in a dumb spot, especially considering all that free space on the front of your kangaroo pouch. And get thicker and more rubber bands for it, you want to be able to pull it off, not have every last twig and breeze do it for you.

hsgi sells extended pistol mag pouches. Id rock 2 on more to the back of your support side, and maybe one kinda foward, in front of pistol holster on dominant side. 1 pistol mag / flashlight or 2 pistol mags appendix support side

the coyote solutions stomp at 6 o clock, and a extra tourniquet pouch.

so if your right handed, from left of belt to right: 1 secondary, flash light, 2 primaries, a tq, your ifak, pistol, and maybe another primary mag

I don't have the time for the 4-6 week wait as I've got a carbine/pistol class last weekend in Feb. I'm really looking for a low profile like under 2" but I've never ran a belt like this so I'm not sure what I need/want and I'm not ready to commit to something like ronnin or grey ghost gear.

Semi-related; here's my near complete pack.
Am considering putting a small IFAK pouch on the front left (2 MOLLE wide pouch, near the size of a triple AR15 mag pouch). Just can't justify it yet as I'm not hunting.

Also, is the following enough (or too much) for a basic haemorage control/ venomous bite IFAK?

The whole question is why would you need a fucking IFAK on a "battle" belt? You will never go to battle with only one shitty belt. The only time this belt will be used is on the range.

All the small first-aid stuff can be carried in your range bag. You don't need to carry on you iodine, band aids, ibuprofen, sun cream and a mylar blanket on you if you go to the range. Keep that shit in your range bag. Just have a tourniquet, trauma shears and maybe an Israeli bandage on you. That's the stuff you'd need immediately if some mong gets shot during training.

If you wear a chest rig/plate carrier things are different. You can have a full IFAK on you.
>>
>>32944469
>You don't need to carry on you iodine, band aids, ibuprofen, sun cream and a mylar blanket on you if you go to the range. Keep that shit in your range bag. Just have a tourniquet, trauma shears and maybe an Israeli bandage on you.
This. But maybe some gauze as well.
Reminder shears can be replaced with a riphook type of knife, which is much smaller.
>>
>>32944469
The point to running a full IFAK or duplicate to the one you have on your PC/chest rig is so that if you have to dump either one of them for whatever reason you still have a duplicate IFAK.

Says explicitly on Crye's releases that it's supposed to look alright with LE departments using OD or CB gear, nothing on concealment. Black is garbage at night.
>Condor
Stitches and velcro are shit. Their fabric isn't even 500D, it's 325D.

>why would you need a fucking IFAK on a "battle" belt?
First line should have your bare essentials if your gear is set up to be scalable. Chest rigs are inherently capable of greater loads but battlebelts are more comfortable.

Nice one, retard.

Belts are (supposed to be) first line gear. They don't come off and shouldn't really have a reason to unless you're also losing your pants, which in that case you've just fucked up bad and there's not much else to do.

redundancies
that being said, Im looking into a smaller belt ifak and moving the tyr up to my pc. but right now, I have the supplies for one ifak
>>
>>32944838
Literally the [What IFAK] is amazing. The biggest plus to it is in the name, it's really slim.

On a belt it would be one of your best options since big huge pouches on the belt line is asking to get in the way, catch or bump on shit.
>>
>>32944771
If you have to get rid of your rig, it pretty much means that liquid diarrhea just hit the fan in the worst possible angle and it's going to spray everywhere. It also means that you want to be as light and as mobile as possible to get the hell out of wherever you are. Carrying a second complete IFAK will only add encumbrance. If you absolutely want to carry something on your desperado-belt, carry something vital, like a second tourniquet and/or an Israeli bandage. If your helicopter gets shot down by UN air defense, bloodthirsty nignogs are chasing you through the ruins of Detroit, and you have ditched your burning plate carrier, then you'll have other things to worry about than having Sponge Bong bandaids, tape, pens, gauze in five different sizes, ointments and whatnot.
>>
>>32944874
Who carries bandaids pens and all that extra shit in an IFAK?

You've absolutely got a point, maybe I was more talking about a blowout kit.

Granted my idea of an IFAK isn't a booboo kit it's a "my shits fucked and I need to stop bleeding right now" rather than "I got a cut and need to clean and sanitize it". Obviously there's a place for not getting infected and dying in a bush but yeah I agree to not be carrying that in an IFAK, especially on your belt line.
>>
>>32944874
>Sponge Bong bandaids
>Sponge Bong CAT tourniquet

I'd buy this.

>Israeli bandage

Carry one EDC and I have 2 in every bag/jacket. I do have a well stocked IFAK whith Chelox and shit but that only makes sense if I'm having company around. I'm not plunging Chelox sponges into my insides on my own.

robo murray (airshit guy) on youtube does a video showing his what ifak on his ronin belt, which is the same deminetions as the tyr one, so you could go over there and check it out to see if youd like it or not.

I went with the stomp and plan on putting it on the tyr belt. I dont think itll jiggle too much if mounted right. Since its more 'wide' than 'tall'

How do you guys wear your chest rigs? What's the proper way? Some googling only really says that they're "chest rigs" and not "belly rigs" for a reason. But that's still kind of vague. Should it be between the belly button and nipples? Or a bit higher to cover the nipples like a tactical bra?

Seriously, how the fuck do you guys go about sizing a chest rig and deciding where it should sit?
>>
>>32946494
However it works, senpai. It's not like a plate carrier where there is a "right" place to put them.

The usual height would be to put it as if the bottom of the rig were matched with the bottom of your plate carrier. So the bottom roughly 12 inches below your collar bone. This isn't Operator Law though.

I personally like wearing mine a bit high. It helps me bend and it helps really clear the chest rig from the belt line.

He's going to post one of a handful of pictures of somebody in theater testing it out as proof that it's viable/popular. Disregarding that gear like that either gets tested for a short amount of time before being ditched by curious troops, or it is useless but ordered to be worn by commanders. We had a lot of "Gee whizz" gear that looked awesome or sounded great on paper, but which sucked and only got used because it was ordered (and was ditched as quickly as we could manage to either convince COs to drop or, or we were out of CO sight).
>>
>>32947619
Those things are horribly unviable for any kind of dismount based mission. Maybe for some mechanized troops heading into short duration urban combat or something they might work, but anybody planning to walk more than a couple of miles is fucked. Another piece of "awesome" gear we got issued, but dodged having to wear.

The best way to prevent death in combat is not being shot; wearing more armor that restricts your ability to move and see just means you're more likely to get shot, so soldiers won't wear it.

A good pack, and a good first line set up (Belt).
IMO, you could be effective with just a belt. I dont know what your mission is, or what your larping/planning for. But, a belt can carry, a pistol, extra mags, ifak, knife or multitool, and maybe more depending on what your belt is, and how much you want to carry.
>>
>>32951610
a chest rig
>>
>>32951593
You dont need it. But need is.. well a bullshit term anyway. You know that. Depends on your mission/goal/philosophy. Personally I prefer one kit, that I evolve over time and consistently train with. I found that to be the best for me. If you really want one, go ahead and get it. Just look at your mission or goals.

South africans ran chest rigs with packs when not using the battle jackets.
>>
>>32951565

What are you planning to do/prepare for? What kind of setup are you running currently?

IMO just a belt with or without a pack would work nicely if you want to stay lowkey and high speed, but you need to find a belt that's comfortable for you. There's a few that have been mentioned in this thread (Or the last one?) that people liked.

If anything, be sure you get a set up that you can always scale up with so you're not having to run anything extra if you don't need it.

Best radio unit that's small enough to sit on the front a plate carrier (that limited space above the mags)?

Dont put a radio or shit above the mags, 90% going to interfere. That space is only good for a thin admin pouch. Also read the pastebin on radios for sure??
>>
>>32951735
Don't put anything other than a flat admin pouch above your mags if you absolutely need something there. Use a radio pouch and a handmic/comms.

My general idea is bugging out of a large city inna SHTF, and while I believe I'll be able to get out via car, shit might get clogged up and I'd need to use alternate routes by foot to get the fuck out. For which this will come into play.

I want to stay generally low key and mobile, hence why I don't like the idea of a full on rig/ plate carrier. I'm liking the idea of a belt, all I really think I'd need on it is some pmags, ifak, knife and possibly 1 utility pouch for maps and other things I could need at short notice. I'm >>32951060, and besides the memeing I'll be able to attach some pouches to cover the necessities for a proper BOB.

I'm going for a Division sort of aesthetic, but of course a cut on the tacticool.

>>32951618

>>
>>32951891
sling bags are fucking gay. It looks tacticool as fuck, so you stand out a bit already. But more importantly, it loads all the weight on one shoulder instead of two.
>>
>>32951891
Get a tyr gunfighter or ronin belt. Aws is making a LAb belt aswell. Anyway, it's low pro has inner belt, and will fit those items easily. Assuming you don't clog it up you could conceal it with a larger jacket if you had to. Also some options offer minor (not recommended) ability for hasty rappelling. Although this is probably most a meme and may never happen, probably more likely inna city.
>>
>>32951961
Actually I've been using a sling for most of high school and uni, and I find them the most comfortable, personally.
>>
I live in a rural area that would never be affected by most shtf situations. I'm wanting to bug in to a city during shtf, so I can bug out. Should I be using an mp7, or what? Also, shoes or boots?
Also, what ifak is that?
>>
>>32951891

That's what I was thinking of personally as well. I'm waiting on a Hill People Gear Umlindi to get back in stock as well as the Recon Belt. I travel a lot for work and they tend to be in larger cities, so I'm packaging for something I can still be mobile with yet sufficient with for a few days worth of supplies, shelter not included as I'm always with someone else and have wheels.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend keeping in touch with friends, family, etc. that live nearby any city you're in. Groups are always better to be in.

The only thing I'd suggest pack wise is to get something with two straps, as with only one it will suck if you're running around with it, personal experience, and if you have it loaded more than say, 10-15 lbs then your shoulder is going to start to hurt. Kelty, Osprey, etc. make good packs and I'm sure others here can chime in on some other non-tacticool packs that are still quality.

I'm not trying to rag on you for liking a single strap pack, but be advised that it might suck if you put weight on it, even though it looks tacticool as fuck.

When I get my shit together I'll post my normal dude setup I guess. Also a lot of places like Sierra Trading Post and Campmor are posting sales from last season if you want to get clothing for a good price.

I'm not calling them a piece of shit because I think it's unfair to aws. I just think it's shitty to do that, especially in this industry, when a lot of the times tax payer money is being spent. I think it says a lot about the person and what kind of company they have.
>>
>>32958602
Gonna be honest here. I think more normie shooters know about ronin's shit than AWS's.

If he sells more Split fronts than AWS and gives back money to AWS to reproduce them, at that point I see it as AWS is selling their product by proxy.
