Not a huge fan of lit rear sights to begin with, it's more of an experiment. It might clutter up the sight picture too much, especially with the optic. I've painted my Mini-14 with a white dot front since I was a kid, anyway.

>Enjoy your FTF.
Strange that I havent had any on my buddies that I've blasted with since the gen 1 and gen 2 have come out. Can easily get them to 700-800rpm which is more fun than needs to be had.
>Neck yourself
Holosun is cheap garbage, why you would buy a BCM and a $500 meme trigger and spent such little cash on the fucking optic is beyond me
>See >Troy
>Every Hogue thing I've gotten has been very comfortable. What's your beef?
Hogue and Ergo subsist by pumping out injection molded garbage with a shark dick texture that snags on clothing and finger grooves. If you support them you are part of the problem
>Is this kit not useful? Suppose I could use the cavity for something else, something more likely to be needed all of a sudden, like earplugs. I'm not too in love with that piece,
No, some israeli made field kit is not going to help you. You arent being deployed innafob for months, you are going shooting on the weekends. In the event of a happening it might be worth considering in a grip but its not like you are going to quickly pull it out and fix your rifle
>just that I hate wasting that space.
Your rifle will end up being 100lbs
>Not a huge fan of lit rear sights to begin with, it's more of an experiment.
Orange and Red have the worst light output/transmission of tritium. Most night sights are green because green is the brightest color.
>Comes with one. New one is for fun and memes.
Waste of money, spend it on your optic .

You should consider a B5 stock, Magpul grip , a non meme optic and a quality optic. The rest of your issues are mainly cosmetic but those are functional problems

>No FTFs
Thanks for the tip. I'll revisit the two and consider replacing the Echo in my plan. The speed from what I see is comparable, but from what I'm gathering you're saying that the Franklin is more reliable. Are you saying that just because you personally have had no issues? If so, still a good tip, because the videos and posts and such I've seen were easily reproducible instances where the operator would outrun the hammer and it would ride the bolt.
>Holosun is cheap garbage
I disagree and I'm mostly an ironsights guy anyway. I have a 3-9x42 something or other scope that stays in my closet because I prefer irons. Holosun from what I've seen gets great reviews. Where is the "garbage" portion coming from? Everything else states plainly and emphatically that you get more than you pay for.
>Hogue and Ergo
I'll reconsider, but like I said, it's comfy. It started with getting a Hogue grip to put on a pistol for my mom who was in a car accident and so kind of has weak grip. Is there a particular grip with finger grooves that you would recommend over it? Regarding the stock, I've got no experience with Ergo. Are you saying that this stock specifically is bad? I want something like the UBR if it's adjustable or just a straight up fixed stock. Know what I mean?
>Samson
You've got a really good point. Especially if I end up replacing the grip as a whole. Now that you've brought it to my attention, earplugs would be much better anyway. Taking this one to heart for sure.
>Sights
That's why I wanted it for the rear, though, so it'd be muted. I'm kind of uncomfortable with them at all and prefer if the front sight is the most eye-catching rather than having them be equal. know what I mean? I might be overthinking it.
>waste of money (BCM)
I might not get an optic at all, and I really like the weird charging handle. That charging handle is the only reason I'm not putting a carry handle on the top rail.

A fucking dinosaur.

It's a paddlefish. Basically, a filter feeder like a basking shark. Only it's a freshwater fish. They're about 300 million years old. We were going to eat it but we googled the state laws and they're endangered so we got it off the boat as fast as possible.

Yeah, he lived to Forest Gump his way into another trotline.

Paddlefish are like aquatic pandas. They're rare, have precise living requirements, barely fuck enough to sustain their numbers and die if you stare at them hard enough. Also, they don't contribute shit to the world in general. They're just big dumbasses who cruise around slowly going extinct.

>Where is the "garbage" portion coming from? Everything else states plainly and emphatically that you get more than you pay for.
Sure you get a good $100 optic but fuck me it is NOT on par with an aimpoint, acog, mro or any other modern fucking optic. They are optics for casual shooters or backup rifles. Just step up to an aimpoint pro, its not fucking rocket appliances
>. Is there a particular grip with finger grooves that you would recommend over it?

>proprietary bolt is a bad idea
That is a compelling fucking point.
>Optic
I'll probably just hold off on optics at all for now.
>Finger grooves reinforce bad habits
I'd never considered this point before. Rather than that, I felt that they would "make up for it." Forgot that in the process of doing so, it would do as you say. Looks like I'll be replacing this too.
>Ergo is dangerous to use
Fuck me. I had that recommended to me on here. originally I was planning on using a Sully stock and just using buttpads to adjust LOP if I wanted to. Earlier you vouched for the B5, but I'm mostly a fan of fixed stocks. Is there a fixed one that you consider to be retard-proof?
>There is hope
lol
>Flashlight instead
I had one originally for that very reason, it's why my Mini-14's front sight is painted instead of installing the Trijicon I have for it in the closet, but as I started taking shit off the rifle the flashlight got caught in the crossfire. Suppose I should put it back in the mix.
>Not practical at all
Still functions as a normal CH in addition to the sidecharging business. The likelihood that I'll use this rifle to shoot a human is low. Go-to for HD so far is a Mossberg 590 with #4 Buckshot. Sort of. Right now it's a 9mm pistol because I left my shotgun at my grandpa's place a few states to the left. Primarily I'm getting it because I think it's interesting and to have fun with it. Know what I mean? I can definitely understand being put off by it, but the design is pretty clever. There's lots of shit ones out there, but this one is good. From what I've seen and coming from someone who's admittedly rather ignorant, of course, but it LOOKS good!

The Franklin BFS Gen 3 is being reported as having issues with hammer follow online. The same articles say that changing the weight of the carrier solves this. I need to look into it further, but reliability is priority here especially considering that if I were to change the trigger I could just change the bolt while I'm at it. FTF is a much bigger deal to me than needing to keep a bolt handy with the trigger just in case.

Expected result of investigation is that the Franklin is the better choice but that I will have to ensure I use certain bolts. Likely to require experimentation with rifle in hand, and so by the time that I actually do this the Franklin may solve all of its problems in some way or another.

It's pretty undeadable for the price.

It's not a great optic, plenty of visible CA and fringing at the edges, and the subtensions are THICCCCCCCCCC, but really not many variables below $1,500 are very good optically.

It's impressive. I bought one as a placeholder, but for a range toy I can't justify a Razor II to replace it with.

Well I don't have astigmatism, but I'd like a smaller dot. I'm also pretty much auto non-gucci since I'm a college student. Still, seemed like a solid optic, and I was astounded at how much shit my old StrikeFire II took from an ex-Army retard like myself. I saw PSA sells them for 170 once and a while, anywhere else?

How do people feel about barnaul ammo? I know it's cheap slav ammo, but I heard that steel cases ammo somehow wears out your barrel faster. Is that true? Or just a fudd myth? Brass ammo is generally substantially more expensive here in Canuckistan, so the barnaul stuff appeals to me a bit more.

Best thing about the FAL and PTR91 is when you break the fucking thing and then its really simple all you gotta do is throw it away and buy another.
Also If you buy a FAL you get auto-entered into a raffle for a free gay lover and summery execution.
Even better is if you get a PTR91 you get a free monthly subscription to "I'm poor and I eat shit: The Magazine" also you get to get made fun of by the cross dressing cock-suckstarter FAL FAGs.
Or you could buy an AR10..

optic newfag here. have a few questions.

any astigmatism boys see any improvement in dot clarity with the aimpoint H2/T2 over other red dots?

I have a meme rised rail (casv-m) and plan to get a low mount for a T1/T2. I wanted to know if it's a pain in the ass to find a magnifier mount that can match the height of the shortened T1/T2 mount

You'll have the same issues with any red dot when it comes to astigmatism. The MRO has offered the cleanest looking dot for the mild astigmatism I've had creep back in, but that's likely due to the 1.05x magnification. Looking through a rear sight at the dot helps. Magnification can also help.

As far as low magnifier mounts, have never come across one, but I've never really looked. Magnifiers in general make for pretty shitty setups, especially with the advent of so many quality low power variables that offer a near to true 1x.

It's an okay optic. It's got that real skinny reticle which made it hard for me to see without the illumination on. But boy you can drive tacks with that shit. I preferred the strike eagle which is on my gun to the right. I gave my old spitfire to my brother, his gun is on the left.

Speaking of cucksplaining, 50c/rd isn't absurd for frangible cuck ammo, is it? Have to use it in the shoot house portion of this course tomorrow and that's the price they have on the shit I can buy off them on-site.

I hated him during the primaries but he deserves credit, he has gotten over that fight and is currently killing communists to MAGA

ranges always buff up their margins on on-site ammo purchases, I'd say try to find the same shit online but it's a bit late for that now

Have had both. EoCuck is just gross. I have a fake one on my airshit AR though because my 2005 operator vibe.
