The gas restrictors started being put in the 104URs toward the tail end of the 54 AC production run. The next prefix, 54 BE, all have the restrictors.

So if you have any serial prefix with 53 (2013) or one of the early 54 AC's, you will have no restrictor and be overgassed. This is kinda nice of if you plan on SBRing because it's one less step. My 104UR is a 54 BE, so I'll probably need to have the gas block pressed off to drill out the restrictor once I SBR it.

So I just put together, mostly,y psa blem bbl receiver and when going over the akfiles links in the ladt thread noticed I dont have a fucking sling loop. What thw goddamm fuck. Oyher problems. Trigger wouldn't reset had to fuxk with it for a good 15 mins, had to file notch for bottom handguard retainer because facotu one was waaaay off. Mine only had one notch. Dust fucking cover wouldnt close I had to hammer an angle into the rrar then file it. Aaaand now I have to send an email to see of my carrier is cast or billet like I thought, like theu fucking said it was when I bought it. Fuck me.

Consider getting your C&R license.
I used to get wait listed all the time. Then one day I realized I was mostly buying C&R guns so I got my C&R license. The next time I went to an FFL for a gun that wasn't C&R I didn't get wait listed. When I told the guy at the gun store that this was the first time in ages that I was flagged he said the C&R FFL associated with my social security number clears up a lot of problems with the NICS check.
The C&R is only $30 for 3 years. Totally worth it.

Lemme rephrase: I haven't had any experience with 300BO yet. Wanting to get into it. Will probably do AR(s) eventually, but I like the idea of a M85pv build right now (as well as another, different, Zastava-based caliber swap or two I'm searching for parts for.) My questions are more 300AAC related. - So if a Blackout is basically a 7.62x39 projectile on a .223 case, then shouldn't a 7.62x39 barrel on a .223 action work? Or has the caliber evolved into something with different specs now? I've looked around plenty, and decent information is hard to come by online. An article about a run that Ryfle Dynamics did claimed that they had some top-secret source for barrels. Barrel makers for ARs list .300BO and x39 barrels seperately. AkBuilder has an AK74 barrel (also listed totally seperately from any x39 barrels) but it's only available with a 1/10 twist, so not made for subs.
So another way (Bonus!) to phrase this might be:
What's the fucking difference between a .300BO barrel and a 7.62x39 barrel? - if any?
If there isn't any, then what the fuck? Are 300BO listed differently just as some kind of sales gimmick? (Can't see people letting that slide.)
Maybe it's not a dimensional difference? Maybe just chambering since the neck of the case is fatter than a .223? Or a feed ramp or extraction issue? (I still don't see it if it's a running .223 AK with a x39 barrel -- yes, of course, headspaced and everything.)
If there IS some deminsional difference, what the fuck is it? - and who's a good custom barrel maker for AKs? (Can't friggin believe no one's making one now! It seems an obvious build & I've heard several people at least talk about wanting to do one in the past.)

Remember that .223/5.56 is a longer casing than 7.62x39 as well, so you cannot just run a 7.62x39 barrel over a .223 action. If it worked that way, people would be running 7.62x39 through 7.62 NATO chambers, but they aren't.

It's a poor craftsman that blames his tools, anon. Never shot a properly-sighted AK that couldn't consistently peg an 8" steel plate at 200m, including my buddy's shit-teir RAS-47 hand grenade.

I shoot with a friend that has some machine guns. Every time we start the cops come. It's legal where he is but neighbors complain about noise whenever the autos come out. My only concern is ignorance. Like when I bought my Bulgarian AK-74 kit (still haven't put the stupid thing together yet) and he asked if it still has the full auto parts and I told him something like

But he kept asking me how one would do it. All it takes is him using the words "full-auto" and "my grandson" and word gets around fast in this small town. It's retarded and really bugs me that he just can't keep his mouth shut. I try to not just tell him everything but when he can tell I'm holding stuff back he just asks more.

I mean most of them are bros though, my main concern is that instead of just knocking on the door, they'll kick it in and shoot my pets or let them out.
