The best LMG of WW1 and for sometime after

Either this or a 16in. Mk. 7 naval gun.
this mouse gun
Pic related.
The fact that a 4channer owns one gives me hope, but at the same time means that there's one less out there for me to find.
I kind of want an ARES-16 with a giggle switch
>>32929259
Could just get a Bergman Mars and call it a day
This sweet honey, a 1901 Hamilton Automatic.
>7 Round detachable box magazine
>straight blowback curved bolt
>aesthetic
>dat ideal grip angle
It's financially in reach, but when I think about everything else I could get with $10k I don't think I could ever do it. Closest range is only 200y anyway.
But god damn they give me a boner.
I really hope that metal sintering technology becomes a reliable and cheap thing over the next few decades, the same way computing went from "ludicrously expensive" to "everyone has one".
Theoretically, if you have a complete set of dimensioned drawings, you could print any firearm. There's a company in Nevada(?) that has 3D printed a full metal 1911 that has at least a few thousand rounds through it.
It gives me hope that one day we can print obscure stuff like the Borschardt at home.
>>32929417
You can get a serbu 50 for like 7k
>>32929439
It's a matter of time, my friend.
>>32929417
Several years ago a gentleman on another forum bought a .50BMG AR10 upper and was really happy with it. I think he paid a fraction what one of those Barrett rifles would cost.
I hear you though. I want one and have absolutely nowhere to shoot it if I did.
Heck, I wish I could find anywhere outdoors I could shoot around here. I live near Atlanta and almost everything is developed or about to be.
>>32928140
Loved the gun ever since I saw it in Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30 on the Wii
>>32929563
They're not that expensive or unobtainable.
A S&W triple lock on the other hand...
>>32931854
triple locks are pretty bad but there are routinely affordable examples on gunbroker. if you really want one.
>>32929563
I want his lesser known papa
>>32931898
fuck you thats why
>>32931914
was there ever a reason why the stock was shaped like that?
>>32931935
What a repulsive creature.
>>32929417
AIAX in 50 BMG can be had for close to 7k and would be way more accurate and sexier.
>>32931959
Don't talk about Hillary that way.
This powerhouse.
Who knows, it might just work out one day
>>32929417

>>32931898
My lgs just did the transfer on an unfired one. 100% perfect condition with stock/box (like your pic). Guy paid 100k for it. He also has an unfired Mauser luger and a Liberator pistol. Getting to see it was incredible. (MD, 7 day waiting period)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>32931935
Omg what a fat chimp. That University should be charged.... oh wait it's probably a research chimp, nevermind.
How hard is it to get one of these in the us?
>>32933491
If your a citizen, and have (I'm guessing here) about $50,000 USD + $200 it's pretty easy.
>>32929200
Dude LGS has a million of those things. I think they received someone's collection cuz they legit have a bag full
This might actually be impossible
>>32933727
lol, why guess when there's google? You'll need $1200-3000, but you get no full auto, of course. I don't recommend buying one for any serious reason though. They are so inaccurate it's sad.
>>32934011
I'm too lazy to find when/ where the last one sold because pre mg ban items aren't always easy to find.
I figured anon was asking about autos not repro or semi stuff.
>>32933080
Then he got ripped the fuck off.

>>32934302
Reminds me of a Boberg. I find those so sexy but the fact that they're so picky with ammo is a big turn off.
>>32932969
Trust me, it's an overrated rifle. It's fun to shoot but not worth the price.
>>32934899
Last one only sold for 630 large. Stop being poor.
>>32929396
Was that the first magazine with viewing holes to count rounds?
>>32928206
>tfw I have one.
>>32929439
You can machine obscure stuff like the Borchardt at home because it was machined with very simple tools in the first place. You can buy a knee mill for less than an industrial printer. Lathes are quite reasonable if you save on rigging bills by moving them yourself. Anyone can do that with basic study.
Is there some reason noobs only think of printing when they think of metalworking? You need accurate drawings either way and you can do those with CAD.
All you need to make all the obscure shit you want can fit in a single garage bay or a shipping container (which have been used for oilfield machine shops and portable military machine shops for many years).
You have to ask yourself if you are serious or just playing in your head. A home machine shop is insanely useful for many things which is why I got off my arse and put one together.
How much money do you have? For what people piss away on safe jewelry you can have professional machine tools and accessories then make whatever dampens your panties.
Think I'm kidding? Look online at pics of turn of the previous century machine tools. Then consider how much better they got mid-century.

Joined any shooting clubs? You can't get access to what other people own unless you human network.

Golden Gun LTD tried to bring it back, but it failed military trials because it was a PDW, not a military SMG. Killed their company. Some 2000 were made though. They're stamped JatiMatic on the side instead of Jatimatic. Ian from Forgotten Weapons got his hands on one of the GGs... somehow. I shall own one, some day, even if I have to make it myself.
