Does nobody have a 1911 here ?
>>32926619
No grandpa guns for me.
>>32926628
your grandpa was relatively young when the AR15 was invented anon.
>>32926619
Idiots who built mine put the ejection port on the wrong side.

Piggy got an A for Effort.
I have like a half dozen but these are my two favorites.
>>32926760
A cop at my campus carries a 1911 on his left hip. So I guess it's a lefty like yours.
>>32926807
I'm guessing they had their reasons. My other Randalls have traditional trigger guards.
>>32926619
OP should have been "Am I the only one around here with a 1911?!?!"
>>32926857
>cop at my campus carries a 1911
He's either completely competent in what he's doing or not whatsoever
>>32926836
noice. What cal?
>>32926619
Working on having one for every day of the week.

Are the Colt 9MM Gov. Series 80 any good? They're $650 right now.
>>32928002
>9mm 1911
>Series 80
>Clot
NOPE.
>>32926619
No.
UTC. changed to a 10-8 rear sight, replaced the thin bushings with challis bushings, added vz grips.
>>32926850
The itty bitty one! How do you like it? I fingerfucked one at my lgs the other day. Seemed really cool
>>32928002
Yes, Colt 1911s are actually a very good value when materials are considered, using more forgings than any other manufacturer in the price range. They also magnetic particle test each barrel in order to assure quality. The series 80 FP block doesn't really change the trigger pull that much. I'd say go for it.
>>32928059
How do you like it? I was considering picking one up when I got the money together.
>>32928195
I love it. Just crossed 2100 rounds. Reliable. Incredibly accurate.
I like Baer pistols.
>>32926619
Memeteen elebuns, its my fave pistol to shoot m8
I'm down to three 1911's.
two 45's and a 10mm

Thinking about getting an RIA I'm .22tcm or .45 acp
>>32930413
Yes and yes
>>32928002
I bought one. Haven't fired it yet, but the fit is very nice. Happy with it. They've stopped making them, so if you want one, now is the time.
I've saved up to get one, but once i got about half the money, i just bought a modern pistol that works better and has higher capacity. They're iconic though.
Have to take new pictures, but here you go.
>>32926869
Im unimpressed with your pokemon card collection as I too have every card you are showing
Thoughts on the Springfield Mil Spec in ss?
>>32933995
classic but handsome
>>32933995
Good to go. Get one. Made in USA now as well.
I heard new models were shipping with no lock in the mainspring housing, so that's a plus.
I do. Getting mine ready to be a suppressor host. At the end of the day it probably would have been cheaper to buy a suppressor ready 1911.
>tfw replaced the trigger with a black one that is the same length
>replaced the standard grips with slim ones
>now trigger is too short for me
I spent $40 on a nice quality trigger. It's wonderful but now I need a medium one.
>>32926619
I don't but I wish I had one.
>>32926619
Don't care if it's a roachgun, it's a beauty to shoot.
Old picture, swapped out the grips with polymer. Inb4 called a poorfag
could someone show me the OP style 1911's loader please ?
No one cares about some 100 year old fudd gun
>>32937731
>regularly
>generaly
>blah blah
i'm 23 yo bro
Fun fact, the Hi Power is actually the successor to the 1911. Browning knew the 1911 was a piece of shit stopgap and that he needed to do better, which is why he invented the hi power.
>better aesthetics
>no retarded grip safety
>better cartridge
>better grips
>double to capacity
>more accurate
>better fit and finish
what 1911fags fail to realize is that browning knew the 1911 was an abortion of a gun and that he never intended it to be used past WWI. If he were alive today he'd scold you all for worshipping such a shit firearm when he already made the replacement.
>>32939927
Yeah, that's why the BHP is so prevalent today, because that's what people want...oh wait
>>32940040
well to be fair hipowers are more popular in other parts of the world
>>32940040
America was literally the only country in the world where it wasn't an immediate success until the 1980s
>>32940040
needs square trigger guard. round guards are fud tier except for ppk.
>>32939927
>BHP
>Mushy safety comes off in holster
>Hammer bite
>Trigger linkage runs through slide
>mag disconnect moves against mag
Stock BHPs feel half thought out and unfinished.
The frist faggo to say something about an idiot mark can eat a bag of dicks
>>32940249
>>Mushy safety come off in the holder
stonger detent spring will fix it
>>Hammer bite
Completely subjective, If hammer bite is a problem then bob the spur hammer or switch to the ring one
>>Trigger linkage runs through slide
Don't see how this is a problem
>>mag disconnect moves against the mag
then remove the disconnector get one of the mags that has the spring on the back
>>32926619
I own one. Don't use it for anything really. The circle jerk over 1911's is kinda weird to me. Boring and doesn't really fit any modern usage.
>>32928180
>using more forgings than any other manufacturer in the price range.
I was told this is not the case by Colt owners. Everyone's using MIM now.
>>32940574
Mine is on it's way back to the factory right now. Burr in the slide gouged the frame, failure to chamber around 20%, poor safety to sear fit.
See if yours fails.......
Rack slide (hammer cocked), engage safety
Pull trigger hard with safety on, release trigger
Disengage safety
Don't touch trigger, very gently pull back on hammer while listening for a class click. If it clicks the safety isn't holding the sear properly.
>>32940753
I don't know where the fuck "class" came from. Ignore.
>>32926619
I have 1.5 1911s
>>32926682
My grandpa was born in 1917, so no.
>>32940494
This is why I said stock BHPs. A safety detent, bobbed hammer or extended tang, and omission or change of the mag disconnect are issues that should have been worked out at some point over the guns multiple decades of production. I feel like it would still be a major contender beyond languishing in various military inventories if improvements had been made. Especially in the US market, it's a slim steel 9mm that still has decent capacity but just hasn't kept up.
>>32940753
I haven't had any of those issues. Had it for a year now. Over 1000 rounds through it with no problems at all.
>tfw never bought one of my pop's 1911's off of him before moving out
>tfw going back to the tupperware he got me when I turned 13 after shooting matches with super expensive tuned raceguns I borrowed from him for years
Highest goddamn priority is getting one of his old competition pistols right now. God fucking damn I hate service pistols.
>>32940280
Nice idiot mark. Do I get my bag of dicks from you or somewhere else?
>>32940661
Of course, however Colt seems to keep it to a minimum. The only parts they've kept to MIMing is the mag catch, disconnector, and sear. I'd prefer those last two not be MIM, but what can you do.
Bump
1911s are literally the most boring burger gun ever.
>You want that stainless or black?
>You want wood or black grips? Ivory fitty vent estra
>Well you actually only have enough for the dollar menu 1911, 5" only, black with wood only
>No, we can't put anything on it, that would require more work on our part to make it decent
>>32941148
Yeah, if you're buying nigger tier $600-1,000 guns. Save up for more than three months maybe.
Just got this Ultra Carry II last week... Haven't shot it yet. Curious to see how a 3" aluminum frame will recoil.
>>32930580
It's good to go. Was a tack driver right out of the box. Eats everything I feed it, gone about 1000 rounds so far? Upgraded the recoil spring, hammer and beavertail safety from amazon, 95% drop in. Got a trigger, sear, and sear spring on the way. Got 450$ in it so far.
>>32941348
>Kimber
If it runs, that is. Never again. I've only seen those things give issue.
.45 or 9mm? I had a 9mm 5" A1 from SA that I borrowed for a while from my dad and those come absolutely boat-anchor heavy. Shooting 147gr through it had some of the softest, comfiest recoil of all time. Seriously though, it was within a gram of the weight limit.
>>32930580
Oh, and buy it from Bud's...that shit shipped like, in 2 nights for free, from moment of payment. Outstanding!
>>32941435
It's in .45... but it's only 25oz too.
Are RIAs any good?
What about their double-stack 1911s?
If not, are there any good double-stack 1911s that are sub-$2k now that Para is kill?
>>32943298
Used STI
>>32926619
>muh prancing pony
>muh .45
it's accurate and worth money... but don't expect anything more of it.
>>32943298
My 3.5 RIA 1911. First gun I bought, no regrets.
>>32943346
You forgot fast.
>>32943379
In what way?
>>32941348
>>32941348
1911's under 4" barrels beat themselves up. Make sure to keep track of round count and replace springs.
Other than that, good choice on Kimber bro.
