>B itch that Mauser is a WW2 relic

IIRC most of the Mitchell's Mausers are either russian caprture that have had all the markings scrubbed and have no matching parts (read: no collector's value) or they're Zastava M48's, which are post-war production and a slightly different design.

>VM MP-UOS Sniper Rifle was designed by UKROBORONSERVICE SC specialists. It is a deep modernization of Mosin Model 1891/1930 rifle, 7.62 mm caliber.
Ukrainian gunsmiths upgraded this weapon in accordance with NATO standards. New sniper rifle was designed to use 7.62×54 mm cartridge, and has 730 mm barrel. Rate of fire is up to 20 shots per minute. Cartridges are fed from five- or ten-shot boxtype magazine. VM MP-UOS Sniper Rifle is equipped with optical sight and Harris SBR folding telescopic bipod. The modernization allowed to increase range of fire and to decrease recoil during fire. The sound of shot is diminished considerably due to the use of silencer therefore the rifle can be used stealthily.
In the framework of Mosin rifle re-equipment, other alterations in the design were made. Buttstock and wooden rifle stock were replaced by new rifle stock produced of polymer materials and aluminum alloy and adjustable buttstock and pistol grip. Fixed magazine was replaced by detachable boxtype single-row magazine. The thread is made on the chase for the mounting of silencer or muzzle brake. All the components and details used for the rifle modernization are manufactured in Ukraine. This weapon is also manufactured for export. The rifle design is distinguished by its reliability. Comfortable buttstock, accessories, and well-balanced barrel improve shooting accuracy that is huge advantage among similar models of weapons

It's airsoft, sure, but what's really bad about this is that it's painted in meme sand colors.

>>32926524
At least it's not difficult to replace the top-cover, and at least the ACOG is ok.

>>32926561
I don't like you, but that's a perfectly acceptable rifle. I think it's fine to mix and match A1 and A2 parts and features if you're not strictly aiming for an authentic build (because lets be real, there's plenty of good basic features on both), and it's honestly nice to see plain and simple ARs with basic furniture and sights, quad-rails and multiple attachments are tiresome to look at.

I'd like to frankenstein myself an A1/A2 mix some day, something with an oldschool looking collapsing stock even.

>>32926672
Honestly since you're already using the distinct Canadian upper, you might as well stick with a tapered delta ring, the old straight delta rings are just annoying to handle.
>>
>>32926678
Honestly that's not a terrible idea, I could see why some might like a setup like that, pistol grips can be comfortable, and this setup leaves the rest of the rifle (including the stock), as it is.

>>32926711
Still, pistol grips can be very comfy, maybe you want a lot more length of pull.
Pic related is an old Chinese nugger with a modified stock and pistol grip, as a cheap-ass working gun. Back when they still were dirt cheap, I could see the appeal.
>>
>>32926867
Looks kind of badass.

>>32929436
I remember seeing this, the bore was completely shot out or something, so you could almost argue it to be a smoothbore pistol.

You could probably salvage a barrel from an old Bolo.

>>32929603
The Luger predates Nazis, I think people need to respect that fact.
Nonetheless isn't a cool setup.

>>32930920
>random copper piping JB welded onto the sight
Fucking why, Steampunkfags need to be gassed. Or steamed, that feels more fitting.
>>
>>32931172
I think making just a plain pump action .223 with AR mags would have been a wiser business choice, and a better gun.

Maybe put a bayonet lug on it as well.
>>
>>32934528
Honestly I don't think it would be a noticeable difference, you could probably cycle it fairly comfortably and reliably without maintaining a full grip, just let it slide in your hand.

It's like they don't know that guns back then were powered by EXPLOSIONS and not fucking vaporized water. Like if you're going to fuck up a gun by slapping a pressure gauge on it AT LEAST slap a water canister on it aswell so you can be autistic and pretend the bullets are actually steam propelled or some shit. Then use your make believe steam powered broomhandle to fucking off yourself ya fruit.
>>
>>32935439
The problem is that once steampunk got popular, people stopped treating it as "what if advances in technology were primarly clockwork and steam driven" and started gluing gears on top hats.

Also don't call it steampunk if you're roleplaying rich noble gentleman adventurers. It's punk if you're working class scum or a chinaman or a negro.

That's done now and then but it's kind of pointless. Lugers are popular for style and you can buy used ones. They aren't particularly good pistols. There are plenty of old Mausers to sporterize if want. There's no point in making new ones in volume.

Assuming you mean the VP70, it's kind of a hunk of shit, it's barely a step above a Hi-Point, the trigger is abysmal and the gun is basically blowback, getting by on literally having deeper rifling to let off more gas, giving you less muzzle-velocity.

The only thing it has going for it is an 18rd magazine, dual-column, dual-feed, like on an SMG. You can't even get the stock for the civilian ones.

The Deagle Brand Deagle is hardly a combat weapon but it has very little recoil, shoots super tight groupings, and it has a lot of power, .44 or .50 from a gun without a cylinder gap, especially with a 10" barrel, gives you quite some velocity.

"relic", really? Are you a fucking retard?

You are aware that any, even most common and cheapest mossberg, savage or rossi shit is infinitely rarer and unique that mass produced milsurpshit?

Find any modern gun that's produced in tens of millions like the milsurp. In 100 years you will still have millions g98s or nuggets circulating around. Any common cheap ass ruger or savage durr rifle is already ten or fifty times as rare and unique as any common milsurp gun, just because because their production numbers in thousands, not in fucking millions.

Its not a fucking johnson.

Unless it's some ultra rare prototype swedish -iranian contract with hex receiver, that has collectors value, you are bitching about cheap-ass common gun, just one of millions like it.

"but muh historical value" you might cry. Well guess what, fuckbag, unless this particular piece has actual documented history related to it, there is literally no intrisinc value to it. I'd understand if you knew that it belonged to some war hero, or at least took part in important battle or campaign - but the chance of this are pretty much none, uless its a war throphy.

Most of milsurp shit come from surplus storage, wartime reserves. If you are lucky, they were never used. If not , they went through few generations of post war conscripts who lugged them around the barracks and used them to poke each other in the ass. Maybe 10% of milsurp on the market actually was issued to soldiers during the war. And they were rear echelons and other REMFS, because they were only ones in condition good enough to warrant putting them in storage instead of sending them to scrap pile.

So you are sperging over the gun that spent war in crate. Or, at best was used by corporal Gyori Kutazs who spend war guarding outhouse in ass end of Hungary and who never even saw combat.

Actually I found the magnum to be more efficient on the final boss (dog version) without the long barrel. While the super eagle did more damage that recoil time was just outrageous, and it was preferable to shoot and move more quickly. Its not like the magnum ammo was exactly in short supply by that point.

Kinda a trap weapon in the game, id rather put more ammo in the lickers than deal with recoil leaving me more vulnerable to them.

The shotgun was definitely worth upgrading with the longer barrel though. And the sound effect was practically realistic.

> VP-70
Yeah I didnt understand the inclusion of that one either, except maybe Only Leon had that pistol and the police had the auto stock locked away without giving him the key (or maybe he would have been given that key later on, if life had gone on longer).

Everybody else seems to have had Browning Hi-Power, and while I dont like the fact they didnt have any extended mags for it - it was a proper handgun to have in the game.

There's plenty of reeeee gun fuckups in that game though, to seriously avoid discussing it in any realistic terms.

> basic and most obvious one is all the ammo mags you find are 15 rounds but none of the guns you use have a 15 capacity.

> I say obvious because you are confronted with this before you go to play claire's disc. And at least all of Leon's weapons are semi-realistic.

The triple bow gun claire had sounds like a genius idea to be honest but I just dont see how that thing could be a bow. I can understand some kinda firearm-propelled arrow shooter but that kinda removes the prospect of using a bow on it.

Crossbow bolts with a small amount of powder and a primer at the back, launched down a short ass barrel they're stuck in. I can see em getting proper velocity for a crossbow.

But in our reality that would never fly because the ATF would call that an AOW (I dunno maybe it could be considered a sporting weapon and bypass the usual regs).

Dieselpunk and Decopunk are where it's really at. The former, as its name suggests, is a lot like WW1/WW2 heavy diesel type machinery while the latter is more like what the 1950's thought the future would be like. They are both a lot more plausible than steampunk, plus they often look much better and their fanbase is less cancerous. In fact you don't see much of them but art, but still cool to think about.

Ian and Karl have actually covered this exact topic a few times.

Making working reproductions of historic weapons is a hell of a lot harder than it seems like it'd be. Even with exact dimensional blueprints and guns to copy it's still a bitch, as there are a lot of intricacies of materials, hardening, and actual manufacturing processes to figure out. Old guns were often designed to be made on equipment that doesn't exist anymore, and there's a lot of hand fitting to do as well, and very few capable gunsmiths who can do it.

It's not that it isn't doable, but when you try you end up with stuff like $8000 StG clones. I'd bet a decent repro Mauser would be $2500+.

Well they don't really handle mud well (many guns don't), it's just that it's very easy to fix an AK fixed by mud, shake the shit out of the receiver or spray it out with a hose if it's a particularly bad case.

The AK is robust, but one of the big appeals is that if something goes tits up, it's generally quite easy to fix it.

That poacher's AK might feed and cycle, but the bore must have no rifling left, essentially being a machine-musket.
