There wasn't one in the catalog, so here we go.

I'm getting a Jericho (steel frame), but I'm not sure if I should get the full-size or mid-size. Has anyone here handled one or both and have some suggestions?
>>
>>32914872
I have the IWI steel frame mid size. I like the mid size but it's pretty heavy so I probably never going to carry it. It's also almost impossible to find a holster.
>>
>>32914872
I own the fullsize, and it is without question one of the nicest handguns I've owned or fired, and I've got plenty of nice handguns. Weirdly enough, it was nice enough to motivate me to buy a CZ. Still not sure which I like better.

TL;DR Get the full sized Jericho, you will love it or I'll buy it from you.
>>
I've shot the fullsize steel one in .45, it was great in the hand and a nice shooter. Feels as good as my CZ does.
>>
Plan on pistol whipping anybody?
>>
I want my first gun. It has to be something concealable and also something that I can take apart for fun and mess around with. my budget is 400 dollars but cheaper is better
>>
>>32914948

Seems like I'm going for the full-size then.

Gonna shoot my AR the first time. The manual says I should clean it from storage oil before firing. I'm a lazy fuck, do I really have to disassemble and clean it before the first shots?
>>
I have a 22lr suppressor on the way. Should I get s&w m&p 22 compact or the new ruger mark iv 22/45 lite?
>>
>>32915051
Yes, you do.

There is a significant likelihood of there being debris in the barrel. Worst case scenario, you have a blockage and the gun blows up. Best case scenario, you put a giant fucking scratch down the length of the bore and it will forever be both inaccurate and full of copper.
>>
>>32914994
1911, used CZ 75, Canik's CZ knockoff, a medium frame Jericho, used Glock 17, 19, or 21, there's tons of options.

Most important, go to a store, fondle EVERY SINGLE GUN you even vaguely think you'd like, then go shoot as many as time and money will allow at a range that does handgun rentals. Then tell the faggot behind the gun counter to stuff it, find the gun you want online for cheaper than any store, and have it sent to whichever store does the cheapest transfers (google this, it helps). Just ask the store how to do transfers, they'll help you out if they aren't ass, and then you have your gun!
>>
>>32914994
I'm not even a Glock shill but G19 is the best bet there.

It's the Honda Civic of the gun world: Simple, affordable, easy to use, and has an aftermarket parts selection to make Legos blush. It's the most straightforward new-to-guns handgun you'll find, and it's an amazing gun to start learning from.

That being said, seriously, go hold it and try shooting it to get a feel for it. It's fairly blocky, some folks find the grip uncomfortable, and the trigger is okay, but not great. It'll all come down to how YOU feel about it, not how us gun nerds talk about it.

Before any of that, though, go find an NRA Basic Pistol class nearby, or some similar "first steps into guns" styled learning event, likely at a local range or gun store. You'll get a really valuable foundation of gun knowledge that'll be very useful in the future, and may just save your life one day, and that's not hyperbole. I had one as part of my Concealed Carry class, and while I already knew 99% of it, it's always nice to have a refresher, even over basic stuff you may already know.

I just want to say congrats on (soon) getting your first gun, best of luck, and if you have any questions on guns, gun laws, or anything else, ever, email me and I'll do my best to help you out.

I AM A RAGING HOMOSEXUAL

I'm looking for a 9mm hand gun. First pistol, brother got a CZ75 of course so I wanna be a special snowflake. No glawks pls.

Taking suggestions on good first 9mm. I like the look of:
- Beretta 92FS
- FN Belgium HP MK III

I think I'd like to keep it metal frame with option for sexy wood grips but open to thoughts on the Steyr l9-a1?

Maybe even a Mak? Though I'd like a more current standard cartridge.
>>
>>32914872

Piggybacking on this, are there any good alternative grips made for the Jericho? Such a pretty gun could use nicer grips.
>>
idk if this is the appropriate place, but does anyone know of any good games on Steam for gun customization?
>>
>>32915766
>Arma III
is fun as hell. plenty of mods to add guns in. You can get mods to make bullet physics and shit even better too.

>Sniper Elite III
maybe, its got a bit in there. not nearly as much as Arma.

>MGSV
I dont know for sure but seems like it if its like MGSIV on ps3.

>Insurgency
Not a huge fan but cod style game with /k/ tier wepons/mods

>Farcry 3/4
decent open world but same shit different place missions. with decent guns and customization.

>Fallout New Vegas
I prefer it over number 4, not huge customization though, only a few mods. but of course can mod the game for more.

>Escape from Tarkov (?)
not on steam(?) but beta/alpha looks good in terms of customizing guns.
>>
>>32915766
>>32915863
And if you do get Arma, I recommend RHS mods and Antistasi.

I think RHS is on steam workshop now and the latest of Antistasi is on their own site.

Bearing that in mind, is there a legitimate chance of Iranian forces moving in on troops in Iraq, Kuwait, etc? Or SCUD attacks and such?
>>
>>32916552
They wouldn't even need their forces for that, many of the militias fighting ISIS in Iraq right now are backed by Iran, they've stuck themselves into much of Iraq in the time since the US pulled out. I don't imagine it would take much to have those fighters turn on western forces and to fracture the Iraqi governmental forces with infighting.
>>
>>32916617
Alright. Another question that probably doesnt have an answer. Iranian army infantry platoon. How effective are they? Well trained force, or ragtag as fuck? The same question goes for any armor assets. Is there anything that can pose a threat to US vehicles a la Stryker, Bradley, Abrams, MRAP?
>>
>>32914872
I have the semi-compact newer model in polymer, which looks horrid compared to the originals but it's at least a more comfortable weight if you really wanted to carry it.
That said, it's a damn good shooter and still looks neat. If you wanted to carry it, a compact or semi-compact polymer frame would be pretty decent, but otherwise I'd recommend the full steel frame for the feel and looks.
If you wanted extra space cowboy points, you could try finding one of the earlier models with no rail and a slide mounted safety.

I built an AR and a fully loaded steel or aluminum mad won't lock in place.
Will only lock in place with 17rds in it.
With 17rds I would flip up rounds and jam
I installed magpul followers in them and it helped enough to not jam, but it's still an issue.
A plastic mag will work no problem btw
I swapped an upper, lower, and bcg and the problem remains
It only seems to do it when my upper and lower are connected

Gun has exactly 420rds of wolf .223. brass though it

I bought a P-64 that has very minor pitting but I'm terrified it'll get worse, would chroming the slide keep the gun safe? What about other re-finishing types?
>>
If I removed the gas block from a SKS, could it still be cycled by hand?
>Insert round
>Release slide
>Fire
>Pull slide back to eject casing
>Release to load next round
Would that work?
>>
>>32917502
yes, if you just take out the gas tube and piston it'd do that
>>
>>32917633
Would pulling the slide back be enough to extract the round? Also, would the side move with the backwards force upon firing?
>>
>>32917720
Hand cycling pulls the rounds out fine, just pull it quick if you're worried about it not ejecting.
The bolt and all that are on a spring, so it'll stay where it is unless you put notable force on it or take the spring out for some reason.

Assuming you don’t want to replace parts:

Trigger smoothing.

There are a few guides out there. Gayle Marsch have an old, but good guide with lots of warnings of what not to polish.
http://webpages.charter.net/gemarsh/hk%20usp%20trigger%20smoothing.html
>>
>>32919487
Refinishing wood is incredibly easy. The hardest part is removing the old finish without causing cosmetic damage.

Basically just sand the stock until you can't see the old finish any more, then stain and varnish it. Or oil it and let it be. Or just varnish it. Or spraypaint, whatever you want so long as the wood is protected from water. My nagant I just scraped the cosmoline off of, and then rubbed bacon grease into it. it looks great.

If you have doubts, get some scrap wood and check different finishes you want on it. wood is very forgiving and easier to work with than you may think.

I will be back in the morning if you have other questions, but anything I can tell you youtube can tell you faster and better.

Alright boys. Turning 21 in a month. I am getting my first pistol and I've done a fair amount of research on most of the guns I am considering. I was thinking steel frame Jericho/CZ, H&K P2000, H&K VP9, FNS-9, or a Belgian FN High Power. Also considering the Sig 320, Glawk 19, and Walther PPQ. I really don't know what I should get. My budget is $750 max and durability/reliability is paramount. Good warranty and customer service would be good as well.

The High Power is from AimSurplus. It's refinished, has a new set of sights, and is about $500. Worth the money? Will it be mechanically sound and in good condition? High Powers just look so sexy, but I don't wanna pay $850 for a brand new one from Browning.

Kinda depends on if you want to carry it or not
Jericho is too big and heavy to carry unless youre huge. The compact one isnt worth getting
P2000 isnt full steel frame, but its heavy enough to be, still not bad tho
I would suggest getting a gun with safety or decocker if you want to carry
CZ P-01 is good, isnt too heavy and has good capacity at 14
You could get a CZ 2075 Rami if you can find it, its smaller, but still comfortable to shoot, capacity is 10, but you can use the 14rnd mags
HighPower would be alright to carry, but its kinda big, probably worth the money
I personally wont carry and striker without a safety
Glocks arent worth the money unless you can get a used one cheap. Every other pistol you listed is better, dont let the fan boys tell you otherwise.
P320 i supposed to be better than the glock, but ive heard that they havnt got the quality perfect yet. That could just be glock fanboys talking shit because theyre pissed the army chose P320 instead of glock
PPQ isnt worth the price and you should just get the P2000 instead
Same with the VP9
I got a HK USP Compact 9mmbecause its nearly the same as P2000, but the grip is better, it has the decocker which I wanted for carry, It was designed very well to take abuse and still be very accurate, and I think its still one of the best and sexiest guns ever after all this time
Its more expensive than everything else you listed, but you may be able to find one for under $750

live in commiefornia, just got my first pistol and want to plan out my next. Want to move up a caliber and get a .40. Was thinking glock 35, but just found out I have to settle for a gen 3 instead of 4 because of retarded cali laws. Is this a huge issue? I can get a gen4 if it really matters, if not, I'll just get a gen 3.

while it's probably too late for you, no that won't work with either american or russian fuses, no other fuse i can think of either. grenade fuses have a spring loaded pin that is released to hit a primer when you release the spoon. as soon as you do that it's cooking.

Thanks for the advice. I will likely end up going with the Jericho or the FNS-9 with a manual safety. FN is a little more appealing since it has a larger slide. Also, there are some Colt Gov Series 9MM 1911s for sale for $650. Never looked into 1911s since they're so damn expensive. Would this be something to consider or is it just a fudd meme gun?

I hate Glocks. A lot. I think they're an absolutely dreadful design and that the vast majority of Glock clones are better. I am being given either a Glock 17 or a Glock 19 which I shall put into my vault and never touch again. Which one is the Glockier Glock, that truly exemplifies the brick that refuses to quit?

First time shotgun purchaser here, some basic questions:
>Rifled vs Smoothbore, does it make any difference if I'm shooting anything besides slugs?
>what's the recommended barrel length/oal for general use
>does 3" availability matter? How do 3" shells perform compared to standard?
>is it worth investing in an intermediate gauge (18 or 16ga for example) or should I just man up and get comfy with 12?
>are there reputable heatshield parts for most common shotguns, and are they worth investing in?
>>
>>32925005
Gen 3s seem to work better than the Gen 4s for whatever reason, Gen 4s seem to have problems with certain types of ammo, weird extraction and ejection issues, and a few other issues I've never experienced with my or other Gen 2 and 3 Glocks. But for some reason the Gen 4s are still valuable enough in features that some people still prefer them.
>>
>>32929212
Rifled barrels work with sabot slugs, but are horrible for shot.

Don't try to get a "do everything" shotgun, they don't exist. If you want a range toy/home defense option, get an 18" pump in 12gauge (mossberg 500 comes with a heatshield from the factory). If you want to do clay sports, a nice cheap semi auto with a longer barrel is good (cz makes fine ones).

Is this slide wear on a CZ75B normal? This is my first CZ and I can't find anything about this anywhere. It is a lightly-used gun, less than 100 rounds through it. It looks like the inside of the frame at the front is rubbing on the outside of the spring housing on the slide.

Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas how to fix it? I was thinking maybe just lightly stoning the inside of the frame down, but I'd welcome other solutions.

Pic related hopefully shows the detail enough.

5.56 is a useful caliber because you can carry much of it and it reduces collateral damage because it doesn't have nearly as much Power as 7.62.
That said, 7.62 is vastly superior in range and power. Hence why 7.62, and the SCAR-H is more commonly used as a DMR than as a standard issue rifle.

how important is the placement of the support hand when gripping a pistol? I've been trying to improve my pistol marksmanship, and I read in a book that the dominant hand should be more focused on supporting the gun at the front and back of the grip, while the support hand should be squeezing more to retain the gun on the sides. it's something I've never really thought about, but I intend to focus on it when I shoot next. so many guides take a lot of time explaining stance and sight picture, but grip is far more complicated for me. any other advice on grip in regards to pistols?

got a question regarding an oldddd full sized steel frame jericho 941. I've been getting stovepipes about once/twice per box of 50 rds. Its got a new extractor and an extra power extractor spring. I also have a new recoil spring on the way but i noticed the ejector on the sear cage is worn/stubby/rounded. If The new recoil spring doesn't work would my occasional stovepipe be because of the ejector? I've also noticed weak ejection of spent brass too that land at my feet about 10-15 per box of 50.

>I'm a lazy fuck, do I really have to disassemble and clean it before the first shots?

Go ahead and ignore it. You are proud to be stupid so steer into the skid. I recommend using a hammer and punch to drive a loose projectile an inch or two past the end of the chamber, then pulling the trigger until your weapon is magically cleaned. Anyone as stupid and lazy and slack as you (you could have answered your question with a search engine) should not only kill themselves but their parents for defecating them into the world. Use a hammer for that. It's simple enough you might be able to operate it without an ABPD (Accidental Ball Pein Discharge). Your post, and you, stink of wigger loser mongoloid. Dumbfucks like that never improve. Sell your gun, invest in spray paint and paper bags, then huff yourself to enlightenment.

You are a disgrace not only to gun owners, but biology itself.
