This argument is bullshit.
Assault rifle is a civilian term.

AR-15 only fires semi-automatically. It cannot be a select-fire rifle if it only has one fire mode

It should be though. It should fire a soft dildo hidden in the stock straight at your face.

I think the "assault rifle" thing comes from the M-16 (military version of AR-15), which IS select-fire, isn't it? It has both semiautomatic and automatic firing modes. The civilian (semiautomatic only) AR-15 isn't an assault rifle, but its fans like to call it that because of the military connection. And I'm pretty sure it does qualify as an "assault weapon" (which is a totally different, and meaningless classification).

Assault weapon totally had a definition.
It was a weapon intended to be employed by an infantryman or a small team of infantryman for projecting a dual purpose explosive, and was one of the concepts to come out of project SALVO and later became part of project NIBLICK and the ACR program.
It was used with the Rifleman's Assault weapon, the SMAW, the USs adoption of the m/48 Karl Gustaf, and other infantry deployed rocket projectors.
It's a term that was co-opted in the 80s by gun grabbing cunts to scare the public.

english motherfucker, do you speak it?

The M249 Squad Assault Weapon does not shoot rockets.
It has not real meaning, and the phrase exists solely because naming weapons is hard.
>Eurasian communism hasnt existed for 20 years
Tell that to every third European country actively socialist and pushing for more.

Whoever invented the term "assault rifle" should be shot anyway.
