I was at the Cabelas in Louisville a few weeks ago and they had .22lr for $0.05 a round. It was all weird brands though, no Remington or Federal or anything name brand. They had CCI, but it was closer to $0.10 a round.

Not really cheap. And not really quiet. I have a 22cal pellet rifle for quiet social shooting with the gf. Works great inside of 50 yards with irons.

In my area I seriously did not see .22 on the shelves 1 single time from 2009 until recently. But it's back. Not full blown every store always has it, but it's around at the new normal price of around 6cpr. I sure miss 1.5 cpr .22 but I can live with it.

At my store in GA, those are $40. Federal Automatch 325 Rd is $25. Sometimes they are on sell cheaper. Still expensive considering what they were a few years ago, but it is what it is.

The only reason i owned them was for cheap, easy to find ammo. That era is over, so I had no reason to have them anymore.

I never see it in big box stores, but my local gun stores usually have plenty of boxes on the shelf for decent prices.
