It really sucks ousting over the FAL in the US. Your choices are either $1000 for a pot mettle DSA or $1600 and months of waiting to get a kit built and that's assuming you could find a decent reciever to have it built on. For that money you can just buy a PTR and a decent handgun or optic.

Get the best (worst?) of both. Yeah it's heavy for a 5.56, but it's stupid accurate because the barrel is the same OD as .308 with a tiny bore. 5.56 is waaay cheaper than .308 too.
