These ships have spend significant amounts of in the Gulf, often exciting 9 month deployments. Yes, the engines do not remain within their expected output, but all ships that run turbines in hot weather also experience this degrade in power output.

Still need to be able to find the target in the first place. As I said, satellites are trivial as fuck to track and evade.

>Using GPS
>When at war with the US
good luck.
Here's a list of just a few things the US could have installed on their sattelites to make GPS useless to anyone else:
1. Have a few of them transmit nonsense. The US would know which sats to ignore, everyone else doesn't. As usually 5 are visible, the US can get a good fix, you can't.
2. Total/selective phase offset- all satellites have a war mode wherein they offset their outputs by a given quantity. US recievers countercompensate, and know which sats are doing this, good luck compensating that without the exact value- which can change.
3. Selectively deactivate certain sats when needed- spy sats detect your weapons launch, all GPS over the Pacific gets shut down for 20 minutes until you're completely off target.
4. Coded transmissions.
5. This would require significantly more complex sats: transmitting on a different freq. US recievers get built to use both, until they use it for the first time you can't know exactly what it is or tune any of your antennas.
6. Any combination of the above.
TLDR any hostile foreign country planning on using GPS is in for a nasty shock.
>>
>>32901098
>you use sat for guid it into to target.
Nice self portrait.

How are you going to achieve that when the CBG knows exactly when and where satellites that could do the guidance will be and just not be in the coverage area?

why would you even start a attack when this would be possible? it is not posisble. because this is not your verzione or AT&T.

plus: you could guide the weapon also with a high altitude flight or with an (hypersonic) drone. or in combination wiht sats.

plus: you dont need a 1:1 guideance for such an big target. you will hit it even if it does its funny walfish maneuvers.

Holy shit you're an idiot.

The satellites able to find a CBG have an orbital period of 88-127 minutes, and it shifts each time. And we know exactly where every single satellite is in orbit.

>plus: you could guide the weapon also with a high altitude flight or with an (hypersonic) drone. or in combination wiht sats.
Good luck getting that close enough to a CBG with the AEGIS and Air Wing coverage.

>plus: you dont need a 1:1 guideance for such an big target. you will hit it even if it does its funny walfish maneuvers.
Dumbass. You can't adjust a ballistic missile's trajectory that much. Especially if it's hypersonic.

Unless you're using nukes, you need to get multiple hits to sink a carrier. If you're using nukes, you still need to get to within a quarter mile abeam to have a chance of doing enough hull damage to sink a carrier.

If you fire a nuke at a US carrier, you just started a nuclear war with an opponent who has 20 or 30 times as many warheads as you do. That is not a wise thing to do.

You forget, the US invented nuclear warfare and used it on an Asian country that attacked our naval forces.

no. WWII fighters would rip an A-10 to shreds the second it slowed down for any sort of attack run. You don't seem to realize that the A-10 is a big, slow target. The auto cannons on german planes, even with ammunition available during that period, would punch fist sized holes through the air frame. You're also talking about 8-10 fighters at least, considering german tactics at the time and german air power. it would get swarmed and shot to pieces. is it not a dog fighter. it wouldn't stand a chance.

Lets consider that since they now have an A-10, they're going to reverse engineer at least a shitty version of it. Throw 12 M2 .50's in the nose instead of a GAU-8.

Hell they basically had WW2 A-10s in the form of those B-25s that had fucking 75mm cannons strapped inside.

>>32910804

Why would they slow down for an attack with enemy air power in the vicinity ? They could easily wait for other fighters to deal with them while completely out powering and outclimbing all of them.

Then it would have free reign to literally rape the ground and everything on it.

I'd love to see what a GAU-8 would do to a bomber group of Ju-88s...
