Is the kabar a good knife?
>>32894056
it's a utility knife, m3 is a better fighting knife imo, but for tinkering the kabar might be better.
>>32894056
Is it in and of itself a decent knife, yeah it's OK.
If the question then becomes is it worth what they sale for? Then no, there would many better options at that price point.

Good enough to kill Nips and Gerries, good enough for me

Implying Marines faught the nazis

that style of knife is good, but if you want a genuine kabar, be prepared to watch your wallet be raped. I found a clone at a gunshow for like 15 bucks
>>32894272
Implying that's how you spell fought
>>32894213
Not the anon you asked, but check out ESEE, Becker, Mora, Ontario

The term Gerries was coined during WW1, and the Marines did fight them.
They didn't have it then of course, as it was specifically produced for WW2.

I didn't say I was a Marine, nor was I killing them DURING WWII....

It's a plebiean "utility knife". Go single purpose or go home.

Assuming you mean the USMC model, Kabar is most known for making them, but it is not proprietary to them.
They are good all around utility knives, but are not suited for really hard use do to their thin tang. In fact Kabar makes a more robust outdoor line called the Becker line, they are better suited for hard use.
Also other brands like Ontario, ESEE, Cold Steel, ect.. as >>32894338 listed... I don't consider Mora's supper robust though, they are more for lighter bushcrafting use.
My best friend got me one for my brithday one year. Took it camping. Could slice through the top of a can of beans like crazy good. I don't know how, but I lost it. I think an old room mate might have taken it DESU
M7 master race

Yeah. Thing is damn sturdy and holds up well against wood and such. Would put a terrible hole in someone, not that I plan to use mine for that.
It always comes with me when I go innawoods.
>>32894056
Depends on what you intend to do with it.
Personally I prefer a Mora for the things you would use that type of knife for.
