Do you really have 10+ grand to spend on a set of custom made and form fitted armor, and the ability to steadily keep your weight and stature the same as it was when you ordered it a year or two down the line?

And yes this... If you want actual good armor that you will be able to move around comfortably in, you need to have it custom made, and just for the Chainmail under the plate we are talking like 3-8 grand... All and all custom armor can cost well over 10g.

But you can get some good gauntlets and stuff like that, that will fit pretty well for around $400-$600 or so. Like Dark Sword Armory (avoid their swords) and GRFB

Ok you heretic, while articulated plate is nice and all, for real best armor ever you need this quality byzantine lamellar.

Be protected by the holy spirit as evident by the rows of pacman ghosts donning this stylish silver and crimson attire.

You may not be quite as well protected as the germanic savages but you will at least not have to shit yourself in battle. Besides the cataphracts will likely scare away the infidels before any real conflict develops anyway.
