What it says in the title, the missile came out of a Burke and hit an exoatmospheric target.

DF-21 BTFO.
>>
>>32884730
Thus proving that starting a war over Iran's bottle rockets is a fucking stupid idea.
>>
>>32884730
Can't wait for people to say this won't make the carriers any less sinkable.....butthurt Slavs and Chinese incoming

I wish the navy will finally get around to funding that endo-atmospheric DF-21 standin.
>>
I put very little effort into this thread for it to drop like this.
>>

Noob here
What happened in english?

Neat.

>>32884761
Interesting non sequitur.
>>
>>32886534
A ship launched missile hit a target outside of the earths atmosphere. The DF-21, which the 50ยข'ers have been hyping relentlessly, has a credible counter.

SM-3 and SM-6 are already a viable counter, but these SM-3 Block IIA can reach further.
>>
>>32886921
That's a hell of of an upgrade.
>>
>>32886830
It looks like the fins are being reduced and then eliminated as the rocket motor diameter increases so that the missile is able reach the new range requirements. I wonder how that affects flight stability.
>>
>>32887144
It doesn't have to turn much, the kinetic warhead is a seperate exoatmospheric vehicle.
>>
>>32887144
fins are irrelevant, these missiles are out of the atmosphere within seconds

Congrats loser, you can destroy a target outside the atmosphere, like many ASAT missiles have done before but even less impressive.

Too bad DF-21D does not fly at max cruise height over target, idiot. By the time it is in range, Wu-14 warhead is already entering terminal supermaneuver phase before impact. WHy do you discuss things you have no idea about? You look foolish.

I appreciate the attempted humor but anyone familiar with mid course interception vs terminal interception is rolling their eyes.
>>
>>32887470

lol, chinky angry, chinky is BTFO at all levels and planes of existance but still shills for the state.

When are you going to learn that no matter how many stolen prototypes the slopes make, they will never surpass the technology of an Empire that loves war. You will always be a step behind.

Always.
>>
>>32887505
>mid course interception
Go ahead, station your AEGIS cruiser off the coast of China. See what will happen. Fucking idiot.

I don't see why this is supposed to be impressive.

I am not impressed.
>>
>>32884761
If the performance of the PAC3 vs Yemen didn't already.
>>
>>32887656
It's okay to admit you do not know what it is or why it is meaningful.

Please learn where mid course correction occurs.
>>
>>32887723
Yes, you should do that.
>>
>>32886921
>2500km

Damn that's a ways out
>>
>>32887932
Missiles are cool.
>>
>>32887656
They can be fitted in a Mk48 VLS missile tube.
So any older U.S. or allied ships can still BTFO out of any newer Slav or Chink missile and ships and not cause a war over it.
>>
>>32887470
What is impressive though is that the US has had the ASAT capability for over 30 years now.
>>
>>32887393
>Mach 15 plus speed for IIA

yowzers is the US putting babby Sprints on its VLS ships now?
>>

If it doesn't glow it doesn't count!

closer to over 40 anon.

It's fookin nothing
>>
>>32888772
You don't seem to understand that rockets are hard, and smashing them into each other at extremely high speed on short notice is significantly harder.

Anon, radar can pick up warhead separation and track the warheads and engage them.
>>
>>32887470
>terminal supermaneuver phase

You mean the part where it frantically tries to acquire a target, any target, before it splashes into the ocean?

Someday you'll understand why ballistic, hypersonic, and supermaneuvering can't be used to describe the same thing at the same time.
>>
>>32889260
A bit on the sideline here, but:
I cant imagine that the manouvering needed to hit something like a carrier going 30 knots to be that much more "super" than what a normal ICBM warhead does during its final flight towards a target? Its trajectory will have changed somewhat during the re-entry phase, leading to some level of final course correction, right?

Actually producing a target fix on a moving ship and giving up-to-date, realtime targeting would ofc be a whole different problem.
>>
>>32889674
If I understand the question correctly, the super maneuver claims have always been in regards to avoiding defensive missiles. So the .50 posters always claim that it can super maneuver in it's fastest stage to avoid any missiles US will fire to intercept it. As proof they always post a couple of smoke trail pictures that look like they were left by an aerobatics plane from an airshow.
>>
>>32889091
That's exactly my point, autismo.
>>
>>32889743
ah, yeah that would make sense.

Total bullshit.
This is like the Vatniks claiming S-400 can reach 1000/2000 km altitude/distance.

S-400 and SM-3 are about the same size.

Considering we've done this at least a half a dozen times and Chiner didn't do shit, I'm gonna go ahead and say they aren't gonna do shit. How about you see what happens if dirty pinko Chiner tries to prevent us from doing it. Fuck off back to your overcrowded, overpolluted godless shithole sausage party you call a country you commie puke pussy.
