Me here. I have an AR and AK74 that I really don't care to shoot and I'm more invested in shooting my cc guns. I really only take out my AR to shoot because it's my home defense gun and that's it.

Defensive shooting. Ordered a shot timer the other day and I'm finally going to do timed drills now that I found a range an hour away from me that lets me draw, rapid fire and do all that kind of stuff.

None of these are bullshit spouting tryhard mallninjas by the way. They all know their shit when it comes to shooting and effectively instructing. Pistolforum and Primary & Secondary are good resources for learning and they have a bunch of AAR's (After Action Reports) on classes with these people that will give you a lot more information as to what goes down in their classes than I can offer to you.

I'm looking to purchase my first handgun. I've put rounds through a Springfield 1911 and a Glock 19 at my friendly local range and I like the Glock due to its reliability and hand feel. Tell me why I'm wrong.

I just like guns. I have 2 heirloom long guns (competition .22LR and a breech shotgun) and I want something I can take to the range and fire without worrying it's going to blow my hands off.

me most definitely. i have a couple of ARs, a shotgun, and a .22, but pistols are what i want to dump the most money and time into.

mostly tacticool, but now im taking an interest in competition style guns, or guns that bridge the gap into them.

I love pistols. My AR and AK just sit in my safe never being fired really.

I use my P320 for CC mostly, sometimes i'll grab the Glock 29 if I get a hair in my ass. For HD I rotate between the Sig, the Glock and the HK depending on which guns i haven't taken to the range that day. That way i've always got a loaded gun ready to go, even when i'm procrastinating on cleaning after a range trip.

I dont compete or hunt, but would like to.

I shoot about 3 times a month, maybe 300-500 rounds each time. Put tons of rounds through the P320, USP, and my old 1911. They are so fun to shoot. Plink a lot with the Ruger Mk. III for practice.

Been a pistol fan ever since I started shooting around age 11.

I also very recently started collecting old metal frame .32acp guns. Looking for an FN 1903 next.

I bought my first handgun last yr, a XDS for CC. And since then I have been using every work bonus I get (150$-300$) to by cheap handguns because I'm a sucker for a bargain.

Unfortunately I've come to the realization that I should be spending more of training and ammo then a bunch of guns.

According to the internet the LCR has a trigger pull that's better than sex but is more prone to problems than the S&W.
Both have about the same aftermarket support and are close to the same weight and price.
I like the looks of the LCR better but I'm hung up on the reliability issues I've heard of.

Defensivebros fuck ya. I think of the hand gun as the modern day sword, not meant for war but for personal defense. So then to me that translates to martial arts with a melee weapon.

Defensive pistol shooting is a martial art, we have yet to establish a wide enough and established enough range of doctrine, but the seed is planted.

I've got 12.5k rounds roughly fired, most through my 4" & 5" 9mm. The controls and everything are stiff as fuck just like from day one, the triggers refine immensely but are still of course stiff as fuck, the whole series is a tank , the take up is always a little bumpy, but the reset becomes smooth as glass, and the break it's self smooths and lightens.
