Let's pretend for a minute, without arguing the semantics of the situation, that your only feasible method if self-defense was a concealed, fixed-blade knife.

Which knife and method of carry would you choose?
>>
>>32884030
Step 1: Don't get in a knife fight
Step 2: Carry a pocket folder
No one gives a fuck about them.

The smallest and lightest one I could find so that I would be able to run away the most effectively without it weighing me down or jabbing into me.
>>
Knife fights are fucking brutal and scary. I would honestly rather have a gun in my face than a knife. Even if I was equally armed in a knife fight, my number one priority would be escape.
>>
Been carrying a 5.5 inch CS talwar,serrated

My idea is that if i HAVE to take it out, the size and serrations will scare my would be attacker away and i wont actually have to use it
>>
>>32884030
Funny enough I've just been given a Tom Brown Tracker from the hunted movie. Nice little knife.
>>
>>32884165
You're the same type of guy that thinks pumping a shotgun is enough to scare someone away aren't you.
>>
>>32884030
I'll carry a longsword on hip, ready to end my opponents rightly.

He's would be right though. Letting an intruder know you are home, awake, and armed. Is usually enough to make them go pick another house. The only people that think otherwise are these fantasy operators.

anyways i like to carry the clinch pick like in pic related with my shirt covering it.

>>
>>32884328
that picture's not of me, i don't carry a folder cause i pretty much never need one.
>>
>>32884312
The vast majority of firearm failures come from the moment you're racking in a round. It's one of the reasons why you should always carry one in the chamber.

All you're doing when you're racking one in is letting the intruder know exactly where you are and what they have to deal with. Chances are Tyrone is going to mag dump through that wall as he is running away.

Same goes for a knife. An attacker is already displaying an aggressive personality. Chances are when he sees you going for a knife he isn't going to flight he is going to fight. He will lunge at you at that exact moment. Adrenalin will kick in and by then it'll be too late. You both will be rolling on the ground screaming as you both receive cut after cut to all parts of your body.

So go ahead pull a knife and roll the dice.

pretty cool setup
I have one of those knives but i've been carrying it for left handed access and a pistol for right-handed AIWB. Never thought about carrying the pistol over on the left and the knife for right handed access.
>>
Work on your running. Be able to flat out sprint for 300 yards before transitioning into a fast jog for 1 mile.

Unless you know what the fuck your doing don't get into a knife fight. I think its funny when you see these fat fucks with 511 pants and belt carrying some $200 knife. If they ever had to use it for whatever reason jamal would be on top of them so fast and beat in there head with a brick.
>>
>>32884407
The vast majority of firearm uses in self defense does not involve firing a single shot. Tyrone is not the terminator. He is not going on an unstoppable blood rage. He does not want to get arrested, so him mag dumping into a house he's trying to rob when he can get away clean is highly unlikey. When you hear of that happening theres usually more than just a plain robbery or youre watching a movie.

Fav set up is paracord mount shoulder carry for a ~6 inch fixed blade with a nice plastic/ kydex sheath. Really like shoulder carry, can feel it at all and easy to deploy/ retain. Cold steel makes some nice knives for this.
>>
>>32884049
This is how you get $600 hammers.

Push knife concealed in belt buckle. I'll also repeat what everyone else has said: knife fights are Lulz-free zones.
>>
>>
I've always carried fixed edges either on a belt or in a retention harness (dive knife). High out of the belt or in a pocket if I can wear a jacket, on my ankle if not. Iwb is silly for a 7 inch blade unless you really want to cut yourself. Connor MacLeod CC'ed a katana in his ass cheeks but he had 300 years to work on that.

How do people conceal this shit?
>>
>>32885854
>How do people conceal this shit?
Honestly it's not that hard. A slim fit button down or a polo will do it even if you're kinda out of shape, provided you chose a good holster, belt, and possibly sheath. A fitted t-shirt is hard for some but if you have larger pecs (eg: you bench press) and no gut it's quite doable even for relatively small guys.

I've seen guys who are like 5'8" and 160lbs hide fullsize Glocks and the Clinch Pick under fitted button down shirts.

Some useful things to remember is that a heavier and less stretchy shirt prints less, patterns help break up the outline of a gun if you do end up printing due to wind blowing against you or something, and that choosing a more fashionable shirt as opposed to a fugly 5.11 shirt tends to make people not expect you to be carrying.

Woah, I'm used to everyone in the gun community wearing hiking shoes 24/7

This guy.
I've been carrying a regular tdi for about a year, before that it was a tdi hinderer(?).
A regular tdi is small and light, can be had with none, half or full serrations in a variety of colours. It goes with me everywhere. I have my lighter pouch attached to the clip aswell. Cant post pic as on my phone. Will if thread still around when i get home in about 3 hours.

i found some pics from another site describing what i mean

this guy is like 5'10" 160lbs
>>
>>32886444
I got the half serrated, i kinda want the straight, they're my preference. I'd say go straight edge, the serrations are usefull for me(i cut a lot of cord), but for most applications straight is the way to go, the blade length doesnt accomidate half/half very well imo.
Tl;dr- straight for every day, half if cutting a lot of cord, and full serrations if only cutting cord or as a rescue knife.

Hope that helped

That's a terrible idea. If someone calls your bluff or has a cc you're finished. Better to not carry a sword than be a middling swordsman.

Folders can pretty much do whatever a fixed can do. If I had to carry a fixed, the Gerber strongarm holster mounts sideways like in your pic.

It's a beast of a knife, thick as hell and designed for fighter pilots to cut themselves out of cockpits, yet can do bushcraft stuff too.
>>
>>32888401
That needs to be marked "this end out" on the muzzle side.
>>
>>32887588
I wont be bluffing, if someone comes at me im throwing down if i am looking after someone i love,

If im alone then i run,

If they have a cc then im not gonna be stupid and just submit, i cant carry in this cuck state anyway.
>>
>>32885747
>retarded knife looks like a limp dick
you wasted $45 to look like a fool
>>
>>32884030
just get a boot knife, there like $20 on knifecenter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZY73vzxYoU

>>32888860
agreed, most folders are just as good as any fixed blades for most utility use but gerber strngarm is not a good bushcraft knife. There are better knives for that price.
>>
>>32887588

And besides, if i pull my knife out and then they pull out a cc
Im doing something wrong and i dont make those kind of mistakes,

If i have to pull my knife then i am dead sure of it.
I would always be in a defensive scenario
