Actually, this is an improvisational thing. Wouldn't there be something more reliable out there like nylon reinforced stretchable material? Even rubber has its weaknesses.

Take the cocoa powder from MRE. There is always 1 sugar packet too. Squeeze some peanut butter in there. Take your brown Gi issued spoon, mix it up.

it's just the stretch they have, when I was little we used old inner tubes from the tractor in the farm to make slingshots you could have never used a new one because it didn't have the give of the old ones. that said I use new ones too.
