Thanks. I added it up once but it was only about $1200 with stamp. $100 for the stock and $150 for a special heavy buffer for that unique stock so you'd save that money and the stamp. With PSA and an Aero upper (I paid $60 shipped at Toms tactical) you could probably do it for like $850. I used a Ballistic advantage barrel

Fortunately for you I have an answer, as my friend has an MP5 SBR and I've shot them side by side.

The MP5 is definitely more of a pleasure to shoot. The HK sights are fantastic and the recoil is more manageable. That being said, his stock like that is either in or out, and the gun is quite a bit larger than mine. It has like an 8-10" barrel, mine is 5.5".
The MP5 is overall a better gun I'd say, and without a doubt more reliable. Not to say mine is a bad gun at all, but if you want a practical 9mm carbine, an MP5 is the way to go.

I went with mine partially for looks and partially because of compatibility with Uzi mags.
I'll probably wind up with an MP5 someday
