This is fucking bullshit. Have any of you EVER actually seen 22LR ammo on the shelf?

Went to Walmart early morning and lunchtime every single day for 2 weeks. Never saw a single box. Have never seen a single box. When is this shortage going to end?
>>
Then order online crybaby.
>>
>>32874043
Why don't they want to sell it? What kind of store refuses to sell something that just flies off the shelf?
>>
The Dick's and Academy in my town always have plenty. Cry more.

This. I stopped buying it cause dicks and field and stream ALWAYS fucking have it stock for about as cheap as I can find it anywhere else.
>>
>>32874043
It's been on every shelf of every store I've been to over the last year or so to be honest. I found one store that had a limit on how much you could buy, but everywhere else it was just for sale like any other ammo.
>>
yes, in fact the local basspro has even stopped rationing it. they even have minimags in stock, and nobody ever has minimags.
>>
>>32874093
Walmart's ordering system for ammunition is "at the warehouses whim."
The store itself cannot order in specific products for ammo, like it can for the rest of the store.
TL;DR Company policy sucks.
>>
Fuck. We even have .22 LR up here in Canada again and plenty of it. Remington, Winchester, CCI and Federal.

Same here. Its all the fucking redneck preppers buying it all up. They will wait in line for hours on Wednesday morning for the truck to come in and buy as much as they can afford and Walmart doesn't have a limit.

I hate these fuckers so goddamn much. They sit around bitching about the gubment then get a bullshit disability check and spend the whole thing on cigarettes, 22LR, and gambling at the indian casino.

They are basically white niggers. You should see this town when the welfare checks get cut. The line at the indian casino cigarette shack is around the block at 7 in the morning. And the casino at 2AM on a Wednesday night. I can't wait for Trump to cut these fuckers off.
>>
Phew, thought it was 2014 for a second. Granted, I never go to Wal-Mart for ammo, but I've seen it in every other store I've been to. Granted, they're still asking outrageous prices (>7-8 cpr) for it.
>>
from 2012 to 2015, i saw 22lr on the shelf maybe a handful of times.
from 2016 until now, ive seen it maybe the same number of times. its coming back but slowly.
>>
22lr has been available for ages now, it's just that the price hasn't quite gone down yet.
>>
>>32874043
My lgs has like 10k rounds of .22lr sitting on the shelf, about 5 sub2000's, 2 five sevens, 2 scars, and a ps90 in stock.
>>
It's not like we got a pro-gun president who will make guns easier to get.

My neighbor's kid work's works in sporting goods at my local Walmart, he also helps unload the trucks.
I've never had a problem finding .22LR at walmart because he brings it to me.
>>
>>32874152
>TL;DR Company policy sucks.
lolno
walmart knows what they're doing
their inventory is literally goat

maybe prices are up a bit so they'd rather have it unavailable for a bit then have people think the price is changed

i immensely dislike walmart on both a moral and personal level
but their inventory and consumer analytics system is literally the best in the world

On the subject of .22LR, is there any reason to run any .22 ammo other than CCI MiniMags?

I guess if you had a suppressor then you'd want to run those special subsonic rounds but if all I have is a regular 10/22 then is there any reason I should buy anything other than MiniMags? Or am I just a misinformed asshole and I should have been using X brand ammo the whole time?
>>
>>32874289
out of curiosity, do you know how much hes asking for the ps90? ive been looking at it on and off but at $1500, it puts it "off" for me
>>
>>32874209
if u live in a white trash neighbourhood
what does that make you
>>
>>32874125
Wow. I haven't seen a honest to god brick for YEARS.
What are they going for there?
also, where is "there"?

>>
>>32874043
My LGS has had tons of the stuff every time I've gone in for like 6 months.
>>
My local walmarts actually removed the shelf space that would have been reserved for .22 and just use it to keep more Perfecta 9mm in the case.

They did this in like 2014 and it doesn't look like it will revert back anytime soon.

The only .22 I can find locally is 50 round boxes of Armscor shit for like $6.
>>
>>32874403
psa has those 325 bricks on sale occasionally. free shipping if you buy 4 or 5 bricks.
i forget how much it was but it was decently priced, like 6 or 7 cpr with free shipping
>>
I work at a Cabela's and we've had a full shelf of .22 for months. Even had a sale over the holidays. What's weird is all the guys asking for .22 short.

charleston. 20 bucks for the 325 packs, 30 for rem shit and i think 80 for the bucket o bullets but i skip that entirely so i might be wrong. cci is still 10 bucks and subs range widely. a year and a half ago i just looked at the thousands of rounds on my self and said fuck it, i'm not getting through all of this this decade so i stopped buying it.
>>
>>32874043
What the fuck do these niggers mean when they say there's a .22 LR shortage? I can buy a bucket of 2,000 from the nearest Dick's Sporting goods for $20.
>>
>>32874361
I bought a ton of Federal for target shooting. But I keep a bunch of CCI around for home defense

>Implying there's a huge difference between standard ball .22 and hollow point .22
>>
Who the hell is still buying .22 in massive quantities, theres absolutely no hope of gun control for 3+ years
>>
>>32874488
They can choke on it for that price... I was buying the winchester 333 packs at walmart for $10 before...
>>
>>32874361
My reason for not using them is the fact that they don't work in my lever gun, unlike other brands. They're also more expensive than other options, so it's a no-brainer.

I did just get revolver though, so I guess I'll finally finish that box I bought 5 months ago.
>>
>>32874043
I haven't seen .22 Long Rifle at my local Wal*Mart since 2012
>>
>>32874855
>the price I paid for something 8 years ago should be the price I always pay for the same thing in "the future"
the boomer mindset, ladies and gentlemen
>>
>>32874043
they've had pallets of .22 at every sporting goods dept or store in CA of all places continuously for the past year plus.

i bought a couple boxes of M-22 for around $40/bx including tax (each box is 1k rounds)
>>
>>32874043
Local store never ran out, really. There were limits in place to prevent people from buying everything, but there was never a day during the .22 drought that I couldn't pick up 2 boxes at least. (except Sundays)
>>
>>32874361
Mini Mags don't play nice in older semi-autos and some actions are picky with them. I use Mini Mags for most handguns, except my 1911-22 kit which works best with Golden Bullets (40gr round nose). i use M-22 for most everything else (M261, HK4, Marlin 60, 10/22, et c.
>>
>>32874855
guess you're never buying .22 ever again. price is averaging $30 something for a brick of golden bullets.
>>
>>32874985
also Aguila .22 and Eley for Match stuff in a mark II target.
>>
>>32874939
>sandy vag was 5 years ago
well damn... still a 3x price increase with that much product sitting on the shelf just means they can get fucked...
>>
>>32874125
Yep - same here. Any time I want .22lr, i go to Dick's. The ones here still ration it one to a customer - but it's 325 or 500 rounds - I don't shoot more than that at a single outing anyway.
>>
>>32874362
I don't remember honestly, and they don't have it on their website.
>>
>>32874995
>guess you're never buying .22 ever again
Not him, but that's the plan if it keeps hovering at 6c/r.
I've got more centerfire ammo than all but the absolute top percent of 22lr hoarders on /k/ have in rimfire rounds.

I will survive...
>>
>>32875055
so you'd rather shoot your $0.20-30/round centerfire rifle rounds vs. $0.06-7/round rimfire rounds?
>>
na bruh I'm worried about .223 and 5.56 I've seen it go from 5ish to 9ish dollars for a box the bulk boxes are doing better but still. I'm buying some 1000 count tomorrow.
>>
>>32874043
Here in Texas, I haven't walked into a gun store and NOT seen .22 in a couple years. Academy has about 20 feet of shelves devoted to 22 and bricks behind the counter. Even seen a few buckets of golden bullets. Average price point is higher than it used to be, but still around $0.08 per round.
>>
>>32875059
Funny thing is i started shooting after sandy hook - so i've never actually shot CCI. It's unobtainium around here. Plenty of Federal or Remington cheap stuff though.
>>
>>32874043
I see it all the time for the last 6 or so months. Hell a new Gander Mountain opened up with 4 - 5 cents per round bricks piled high for several months (which is great considering the "new normal" in my area is 8 - 9 cpr).
>>
>>32874488
PSA? Thats the ONLY thing miss when I moved away from charleston,
>>
>>32874361
I mostly use whatever's cheapest. Which is general golden bullets in my area.
>>
>>32874361
I prefer CCI Standard
>>
>>32875157
field and stream and or dicks.

fuck PSA tho
>online only prices
>makes me pay tax
>makes me pay shipping
>ammo i want in my hand as they tell me this while they ring it up

only really go there for cheap frames and lowers. stopped buying ammo from them almost instantly after i moved here.
>>
>>32875077
Considering I get more fun out of a single round of 762xAnything than a whole mag of 22lr?
Yes.
>>
>>32874043
Went to the local sports store this morning and bought a thousand rounds of CCI sub segmentrmed.
Whole shelves of rimfire for sale. They did not have any .303 bull nose projectiles.

There is no shortage of .22.
>>
You don't see 22lr because of niggers like me. I get off at 5AM and Wal-Mart is on the way home so I swoop in like a chickenhawk and buy bricks to hock on jewbook for a 50% profit
>>
>>32874043
>Have any of you EVER actually seen 22LR ammo on the shelf?
Yes
>>
>>32874043
Every time I go anywhere. I don't even buy it unless there is CCI Standard for 6cpr or less.
>>
>>32874112
SGAmmo, while always convenient, is consistently at least ~2cpr above market value and their 22 is no exception.
>>
>>32874043
I don't think there even is a shortage. There's .22 on the shelves everywhere here but it's all $6-7 for 50 rounds. It was $1 for 50 before the scare, there's no way I'm getting a glorified BB gun and paying that much for ammo.

I refuse to even buy a .22 until ammo is decently priced again. There's no use for having one. Survival rifle my ass, anything you can kill with a .22 you can catch with snares, and you can carry a fuckton of snares for the weight of a .22 gun plus it's ammo... If I want to "plink" I'll shoot an airshit or BB gun. The concept of plinking is fucking retarded, you should be training instead.

Fuck .22's, and btw you retards are doing this to yourselves. Start boycotting it until it's cheap again.
>>
>>32875754
I bought a 100 brick of jacketed CCI for $9.99 a couple months ago at Gander Mountain, so it's probably getting better now.
>>
>>32875754
>$30/500 rounds of mediocre, $10/100 rounds of decent stuff; working minimum wage at walmart means i have to have welfare to buy anything
>i can't afford $30 for hundreds of rounds of ammo and a couple hours fun plinking with friends and the lover. it's way too expensive for any of that stuff.
>you should all make the price go down for me until i decide to buy it again
>in fact it should be free
>no- they should PAY me to take their ammo.
tell you what, the market will probably correct itself over time and you can buy it for cheaper... except the dollar is constantly losing value and people are still buying it, so why would the price do anything other than increase? cost of materials, labor, and services (shipping, et c) is going up all the time too.
>>
>>32875778
>>32875841
He is right about using airsoft if all you want is a plink gun, though.
>>
>>32874043
Don't know this feel

local sporting goods/supermarket AND my local LGS has shitloads of it in stock all the time.
>>
>>32875662
Then you obviously shouldn't buy from them, and buy your local "market value".
>>
>>32874043
My local gander, Academy, and Bass Pro have all have a good bit up until October, then they have none stop supplies with no limits. My gander had 100,000 rounds and it didn't sell out for 3 days last month. Even now they all have at least 500 boxes. Fuck, my Walmart has some. Central FL fag here.
>>
>>32874364
Master race
>>
OP here in California people don't go out to shoot often so there's plenty of .22 on the shelfs. I just bought me 10,000 .22's
>>
>bumpstock 22s become a thing
>22 becomes unobtanium
>>
>>32874043

Have not had any problem with finding 22 for a few yrs now. No one panic buys that shit any more around here, I can easily find boxes of 500 for less than 20 bucks.
>>
>>32874043
Every gun store in my area is loaded with .22lr - no one buys the stuff. Just last December my brother walked into dicks and bought 5 boxes of cci without an issue.
>>
>>32875319
9mm carbines son, 9mm is cheap af
>>
>>32874043
>He doesn't order ammo online

This is entirely your doing you understand.
