You could always get one of the railed vertec M9s and just get a threaded barrel. It's not super hard to make a close-enough conversion. You could also just get an M9A3 cerakoted.

Its not impossible to get a good deal selling/trading a used gun but for G19s and the other non /k/tard guns the general rule still applies.

Current collection total investment: 500$
G19

Sell/trade total investment: 500$ (500$ initial, get 400$ back, invest 500$ more to get 900$)
px4(assume paid 900$ and got 400$ for g19).

buy moar total invest: 1400$
g19
px4

trade:
+100% invest (trade and get back 400$ but invest 500$ moar to gain more expensive pistol)
+55% value (gun collection value increase by the +400$ worth)

buy moar:
+180% investment (increase investment by 900$)
+180% value (gain 900$ gun and have original gun so 500+900$)
>>
>>32870703
True. I have a German 226 I have zero use for but I won't sell it because it was the first handgun I ever bought. I've thought about it countless times to sell it for a smaller DA/SA I could carry.

We will now use my pictogram to prove to everyone that buying moar guns is always the answer. The only way you don't loose money is if you sell the gun for equal or greater value which isn't unheard of, it should just be noted to never sell a gun for less than you paid.
>>
>>32871017
>it should just be noted to never sell a gun for less than you paid.

My Glock 19 came with Ameriglo proglos and 23 magazines so there could absolutely be no way I can lose money selling it. I might just stick with the Glock because I already have everything I need to carry it.

How do you feel about the grip on the 85 vs the doublestack width of the 84?
I really would like to get my hands on both to see how they feel before committing to one but odds are I won't get a chance.

Also had my eyes on the smaller px4 variants like the subcompact too, but that'd probably be something I'd grab later.
>>
>>32872851
It is a bit tall for my taste, but the old 8000 series has a definite cool going on. Some guys get the modem Stoeger railed frames and drop original Beretta slides/barrels/everything else into them. There is periodic discussion of that over at the Beretta forum.
>>
>>32872892
I am a slave to capacity. That kind of makes up my mind.

Further, Beretta has this weird habit of doing single stack guns and then putting massive grips on them. The single stack 92 compacts are ridiculous about that.
>>
>>32872930
I definitely feel the slave to capacity thing, especially if 99.some nines% of my usage of it is going to be plinking at a range with it. But if the 85's slightly slimmer setup feels better in the hand I'd probably want it.

>>32872838

I want a 92 as a suppressor host. I have no real intention of carrying it or any serious use.

Is there any reason to not buy one of these older surplused pistols and have it threaded? As opposed to buying a more expensive, newer, FS/M9 version?

So far I understand that it has the different mag release and that the sights are shorter and not the three dot type.

My main reason is wanting the iconic and aesthetic looks.
>>
>>32875275
Is that a full length barrel in that? If not, do you know if the full length will work in the compact or are they different?
>>
>>32875275
Right. Once Summer starts I'll be out of classes and probably do some odds jobs here and there to scrounge up money for a proper CC pistol but I think the 92fs will serve me nicely until then.
>>
>>32874964
What is the top AK? Arsenal?
>>
>>32875310
It is a full length. It's the barrel from the Beretta Brig. I used to make my Samurai Edge (higher up in the thread).

I can't say for certain how the barrel operates in the pistol. I only put it in the compact for novelty photos. It's a perfect fit, though. I imagine it would shoot just fine, but there might be longterm consequences. Then again, there's probably only .5 an inch difference from a threaded barrel used to suppress the compact. I dunno, man. Your best bet would be to contact someone who's an expert in this shit. Until then, I'd probably avoid shooting a compact with a full barrel for any great length of time to avoid unnecessary stress.
>>
>>32875405
Aight, thanks for the insight. My buddy has a compact and he was thinking about getting a ported barrel, but couldn't find any specifically for the compact, so if the full size work, that'll be cool.

Not him but people make a big deal out of the rotating barrel. The gun shoots very flat but I doubt the barrel has any sort of dealing with how it shoots that being said, get the Compact. The size difference is marginal.

Same exact boat. I bought one anyways. Never hurts to have two guns and the value of the G19 isn't going down any time soon so there in no harm in retaining both.

I went with the regular compact in the silver slide INOX though. I like a lot of the features on the compact carry but decocker only safety kind of ruins the entire point of not just using the G19. I want a manual safety.

Besides it still makes more sense to buy a regualr compact and refit it as you see fit unless you want every single thing the compact carry includes. A $200 price hike is not ok for parts that should only cost $140.

They don't go up for sale often, but when they do they're ~$3k

This one didn't have any chokes, or the original hard case, so it was priced pretty low at $1700. I got it for $1550 on account of there being a scratch on the stock even though the listing said there weren't any, and the fact that it didn't even have a choke installed so it was unusable as-is. Minor expected wear on receiver (can see in this pic) from where 2nd shot is inserted in the external carrier.

Despite the missing accessories, I'm still reasonably certain I got a hell of a deal.

I'm super jelly. You got a great deal imo. My grandfather was a competitive trap shooter back in the day, he had a beretta break-action that was 10k+. tried to talk him into handing it down to me when he passes, said he'd think about it. If he does i'm going to have it as a display piece over my mantle.

so what are good prices for different models of 92s?

what would be a good point to not pay over for them?

also, why are 92Fs so uncommon?

I'm planning on buying an INOX 92FS to make into a Sword Cutlass clone, but I'm having issues sourcing a 5.9" barrel and slide. I can get the slide CNC'd, but the barrel is another issue entirely.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, I'll post a shooting report when I take it out next weekend after the chokes arrive.

Tip on the grandfather: get into clay shooting on your own and even get your own gun, of course not a $10k one. Talk to him about it, ask for advice, take him shooting to give you lessons if he's still able but don't bring up inheriting his gun. He'll probably hand it down to you without you ever needing to ask again.

So I think I'm going to ramp up the special snowflake meter and not just build a Samurai Edge, but build Wesker's model or at least as close as I can get.
I'm pretty sure the frame it uses doesn't actually exist, so I either get a normal inox frame and lose the rail or a vertec inox and lose the palm swell. What parts would I all need? So far I'm thinking

>stainless vertec frame
>stainless controls and barrel
>brigadier slide
>skeletonized hammer
>custom grips

Not sure on the light either.

He taught me when I was young, he gave me his old competition gun (not in the best shape). I go shooting with him when either of our birthdays come around. He likes showing me his very extensive collection when I'm over to visit, we chat it up about trap shooting and I can see in his eyes he wants me to carry on the legacy. I probably didn't need to ask him about it, would have came up naturally eventually but wanted to let him know my interest in his collection.

But you can get a decocker conversion kit from Beretta and a threaded barrel from any number of places.

Yes, the FM-AK47-11. I wanted something high end but they just had the thumb hole stock models available with the slant cut receiver. >also, why are 92Fs so uncommon?

The actual Beretta 92F had a short production life. You can search for them as well as early models of the 92FS if you're looking for the straight dust cover. Vanilla M9s would work, too, I suppose. Just try to look for one without the "see instruction manual" bullshit on the right side of the frame for maximum aesthetic.

>>32878115
I'm pretty sure the in-game gun looks more polished than the standard Inox, so that might be something to keep in mind if you're going to build it. And the Beavertail on Wesker's is huge as fuck, so that's out the window unless you have some seriously expensive custom work done.

Otherwise, for trying to be as close as possible, I'd say your list is good. The light could easily be any of the TLR series of lights and I don't think anyone would complain. Are you planning on using the standard Beretta Inox barrel, or getting a custom Stainless? I'd love to see someone pull this off.

Reminder that locking block pistols are far less durable than tilting/rotating barrel designs, and there's a reason that the Beretta 92 is the last pistol of this type still being produced. Prove me wrong.
>You can't
>>
Before someone else tries to prove you wrong, you must try to prove yourself right first.
>>
>>32880428
Good thing Beretta does that for me.
>Recommend to replace block every 5000 rounds

>>
>>32880446
There's always exceptions with every gun, man.

There's Berettas out there with 100k rounds through them, and there's some that needed replacement parts at 5-10k.

Same goes for Glocks. Sometimes, Glocks don't explode and maim you. Sometimes they do.

It's a natural part of guns.
>>
>>32880663
>Beretta requires you replace the locking block

Please find this info for me. At best, they probably give a rating to their LBs. I doubt they have a "replace at xxxxxx rounds" anywhere on their site.
>>
>>32880690
>locking block fails
>nothing happens
>spend a couple bucks to replace it
----------------------------
>Glock fails
>gun explodes
>spend thousands in medical bills

All memes aside, the chance of your locking block failing early in the guns life is extremely low. The chances that it fails when you actually need the gun are lottery tier. My point is: no one fucking cares and it doesn't matter.
>>
>>32880402
Comparing preventive maintenance schedules to something functioning in spite of a lack of maintenance is silly.
Now, I will not sit here and act like Glocks are particularly fragile, but they also have parts replacement guidelines.
1. Recoil Spring Assembly: 3,000-4,000 rounds (Gen 1-3). 5,000-7,500 rounds (Glock Gen 4)
2. Firing Pin Spring (striker): 15,000 rounds
3. Firing Pin Safety Spring: 15,000 rounds
4. Extractor Depressor Plunger Spring: 15,000 rounds
5. Magazine Catch Spring: 15,000 rounds
6. Standard Trigger Spring: 15,000 rounds
7. Slide Lock Spring: 15,000 rounds
8. Slide Stop Lever Spring (attached to slide stop lever): 15,000 rounds

If you end up getting the beretta, the 92fs has more holster options if you plan on carrying. A1 has removable front sight (if that's something you care about). 92fs is aesthetic as fuck imo. If you plan on using a light get the A1.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but there's some opinions.
>>
>>32884103
I don't plan on ever using a holster. Seems like maybe the 92fs is more my style. Have to say I like the M9a1 being the Marine Corps gun and also being made in America. Strange though I don't see it available on buds. Guess I'll try to rent both. Thanks

>>32884178
Yeah it's a good idea to visit your local gunshop and finger a few options, better yet if you can rent a few to shoot as well. Most gunshops will have beretta's seeing as everyone seems to pop for the taurus pt92 more often (cheaper). Good luck anon.

The manual said to lean back to draw while seated. It's not too bad. I like it a lot, I live in CT so people freak about guns. There's really no way to notice it's on me without knowing what to look for. I've worn it in malls and apple stores etc with no issues. Standing up it's easy and fluid to draw. It's not too uncomfortable though I do notice it when driving. I'm going to lose a little weight so it'll only get better. The magnet in the v2 puts any worries of the gun flying out to rest. I'd buy it again, I'm happy with it.
>>
>>32876968

The m9a1 and 92a1 (different guns) both have a very pronounced radius cut in the back strap which makes it far more comfortable.

It's pretty cool. Definitely a weapon to look at if you want an alternative to the AR that's unique and still rather cheap. It's not an AR killer by any means and it has a few design choices that I'm opposed to, but it's still a fun rifle.

JMCustomKydex did it.

Fun fact. The 92G Brig Tac holster works for the 92fs and 92g brig tac. So does the Blade-Tech.

Blade tech; You can put a paddle or belt loops on it, adjustable tension. Works for 92fs m9a1 and 92G Brig ect. Just adjust tension a quarter turn or so for different pistolas. It also ships near instantly its a production item not custom.

JMCustom; Works for 92fs m9a2 ect. as well. Just adjust tension. Takes like 2 months after order to ship.

JMCustom WITH light. Fits 92G brig tac with light, idk about an m9a1 with a light though I don't own one. Takes like 2 months after order to ship.

And thats a sweet Beretta.

Ok, here is most of the stuff. There is a Beretta 10 round .40 mag at the bottom.
Holsters are a Clinger IWB and a Safariland for inna woods. The two mag pouches are just issued stuff, but I keep my work mags in TACOs when I have my gear on.

I was being facetious about the grip size.

The Clinger is alright, but it tends to push the grip out a bit. Unless you have a very narrow waist and a deep chest, I would look elsewhere. I got it largely for the price point. It does alright with appendix, as I always wear a button up shirt over a t of some kind.

If anyone has input on either IWB or pocket magazine carriers, I would be interested in it.

I rather like it. There are definite drawbacks though. Drawing from a seated position is kind of rough and requires you to either be able to lean back or thrust your hips upward to make your stomach parallel with your legs.

Drawing from a standing position is very fast and you can do it as quickly as you like since the added magnet in the G2 prevents the gun from catapulting. Two handed draw is the best but one handed is possible with a bit of practice.

The reason you buy this holster is comfort and concealment. Nothing comes close to how easily you can carry even larger compact pistol with no effort. The holster prints a bit if you wear tighter pants but the shape and position give nothing away. Either people think it is a fold in the pants, you got your phone in your pocket, or you have a huge fucking ogre cock. No one is going to stare long enough to figure it out. Social awkwardness helps with the concealment.

If you want the fast possible draw from all position and be ready at 1/10th of a seconds notice to shoot someone. There are better holster. If you want something you can wear all day and never have to give a second thought about as far as what clothes you wear or bending over a certain way. The urban carry G2 is a fantastic concealment holster.

I don't mean to be a fucking faggot but I'ma start saving these and keep a /bg/ going. The 92fs pops up in "92fs first gun?" or "92fs vs ____" or "92fs overated" "is the 92fs as shitty as military fags say?"

Might be fun to keep a /bg/ thread going with 92 porn. Plus Leon things 92s are awesome so.

Thanks for the honest review. I use IWB kydex myself although I like the idea of deep concealment, but I can't see a distinct advantage over the many options of IWB kydex. I don't really worry about printing much, my friend was looking at that holster because every time me and my friends go out to town, he's always like (you're printing anon). I tell him he only noticed it because he knows I carry, or maybe he's a fag always looking at my ass. He wants to start carrying but is worried about printing, he asked me my opinion on that deep concealment holster. I didn't know much about it so I had to ask to gain a bit of knowledge on the subject before giving him bad advice. Thanks once again.

Ya thats sick. I've been thinking about doing a m9a1 with a comp. Kinda like this but with the rail. >>32893165

I want at least one more 92 in my collection and I have a while to think about it. Either a railed 92 with the comp or a two tone non railed 92 idk.

I went for Weskers as well, but I just went for more of a tribute than a repro. Kind of hard to get the beavertail you need and at the time when I was putting this together I wasnt making enough money to justify buying a brig slide and having that done properly. I love what ive got though. Imo, no Edge is more iconic than weskers

Here's all my Beretta stuff.
I used to have a 3rd 92, but as some of you know I traded it for a VP70z.

I have a lot fewer mags than I care to admit (3 full size, 2 compact), but it's hard to come by decently priced ones these days.

Not pictured is a Beretta range bag. I got the bag, glasses, and ears from Beretta for free when I bought my Brig. Pretty legit, if you ask me.

Also, the Biohazard baseplate was something cheeky I did for a Samurai Edge mag. In retrospect....meh.

As much as I hate the Beretta, neither of mine failed during 2 deployments to Iraq. I just cleaned the absolute fuck out of it daily. The problem is the majority of the people that carry them while deployed never have to use it and never fucking clean it.

I would not buy one for myself, well maybe that new tacticool looking tan browntown one, but it never failed me. And both were old beater piles of shit with worn out springs and old shitty mags. Just cleaned it and loved it and it fired every time. Every time.

Pic is not my piece, just a random one found on the net.

Looks gr8 m8.
Is that just a regular FS inox frame with a rail adapter stuck onto it?
>>
>>32893534
The beretta turns many ex-military people off because of the reason they were at the end of their service life. Holding a new m9/92 in hand and feeling how smooth and the fit and finish is makes a world of difference.

My range rents a .40 Px4.

Up until then I'd never shot a .40, only 9mm and .45. I didn't care much for it, the recoil still felt snappy for me. I ended up getting a Storm in 9mm.

The real question is, how's the storm in .45?

Because I want one.
>>
>>32893975
I have no idea. They aren't on the CA roster so I've never actually seen one.

Also, don't those tan "special duty" .45 models have a threaded barrel? I thought you couldn't mount a suppressor on a Px4 because of the rotating barrel, what other possible use could a threaded barrel have?
>>
>>32893986
I don't think it's threaded, just slightly extended.

>What inclined you to create such a glorious tribute to 92 lore?

Resident Evil is what largely influenced my interest in guns. So from a young age, I was looking into the guns in-game or what inspired guns (such as in RE4). Then I joined the military and had hands-on experience with the M9, which quickly became one of my favorite guns to shoot, as well as aesthetically. I began looking into whether or not anyone had made an actual version of a Samurai Edge before. There were people who had done the grips, sure, but no one who had gone all the way (at least not at the time, and no offense to anyone who only does grips/two-tone, it still looks great). So when I got out after 4 years, I had money and a dream. The rest is history.

Damn. Thats a fuckn fable for /k/ history anon. Id drink scotch and shoot out my back doorwall with you anon.

You can absolutely mount a suppressor, you just have to mount it tightly. I think Hickok45 did a video on just that subject.

>>
>>32893963
Compaired to every other .40 using 180gn the px4 snaps much less.
>>
>>32893986

Yes, it's possible. There's just a chance that the suppressor could loosen up with the rotation.

>>32894431
I couldn't find the H45 vid on it, but yeah. It just has to be secured tightly.

92fs reporting in with love. Swapped a few things on it but factory configuration wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Had custom grips on it but they were too aggressive, shredding shirts and rubbing me raw (that's what she said?)
