Whenever I don't give them mine, I get delayed because there are at least sixty niggers in my state with the same name and extremely long rap sheets and it takes them a while to pin down which one I am.

Get a carry license if possible. In some states you don't have to have your information submitted to NICS if you have a state Weapons Carry License. If you cant, then yeah get a UPIN.

I think I'll go for the UPIN. My state does let you bypass the background check if you have a CCL, but I'm going to be moving to a new state in 4 months, so it doesn't seem worth it.

I had an underage drinking 15 years ago. I was arrested for DUI 10 years ago, but I wasn't convicted. There was a program in my state where if you fulfilled certain obligations there was no conviction and the whole thing was expunged. Other than that I have nothing on my record.

I had a buddy who didn't have any convictions that excluded from legally purchasing firearms, but the FBI didn't like the cut of his jib and basically said "lol get a lawyer if you want to legally buy a gun".

Maybe it's because of the DUI arrest. It's just a delay, and the other times it has happened I eventually get approved. It's just annoying to basically have the government put a 3 day waiting period on me.
