My Grandpa had a Schrade Old Timer and I loved it when I was a kid.
I ordered one for myself last year and it fuckin' sucks.
Had the worst edge out of the box I've ever seen on a knife.

my old USA sharpfinger is what I use alot for hiking, fishing, hunting. id pick it in a survival situation.
However i have a TOPS BOB that i pick over it now, but the sharpfinger is a great knife still, for survival.

The type of knife to hack out tools and traps, channel my inner Arnie. But yeah basically a bushcraft knife, something I can have in my pack while out backpacking or just to show off to buzzed buddies while camping (most of them don't really camp out or anything, so it's fun to show them cool tricks). What I would like is a SRK Carbon V but those are discontinued and hard to find, I wouldn't mind though finding something more modern or still in production. Just anything that is practical, reliable, and useful.

How big of a knife are you looking to get? During the holidays I picked up one of those Mora Bushcraft Black knives with the firesteel and blade sharpener sheaths for $35. Works pretty well so far but I haven't put in any serious hard use yet.
