What would the most efficient "soldier" or killing machine look like if alien beings had to design one?
Two eyes minimum for depth perception. Two legs minimum for stability and climbing. Two arms minimum for holding and steadying. Bipedal for long distance movement. Minimum fingers (presumably 5) for dexterity. Small enough to maneuver between pillars, caverns, (doorways). Large enough to throw itself or lash out.

Prove me wrong. You can't.
Needs more wrist rockets.
You're looking at it.
This would do a much better job.

4chan?
If aliens are designing it, I imagine it'd be employing technology that fulfills your requirements without looking even remotely human.
Do you assume the aliens have only human-level tech?
>>32862103
I contend that 4 fingers is the minimum. Two points define a line and with two sets you can grab on both sides of an object.
I also contend that, if you're making a mechanical (versus bioengineered) killing machine, you want to do what Boston Dynamics did and put wheels as feet.

I was thinking mind control in general. Why wage war and carnage if you have the power to control the human mind.
Why have it look like a person? people suck. Just have it be some tracked shit.

A Dalek probably. Can levitate/fly, impervious to most weaponry, able to function alone or as a unit, can operate deep underwater, in high altitude or even space without special gear, unlimited ammunition, incredibly intelligent, able to decrypt and decode billions of probabilities a second, can absorb information directly from captives without requiring them speaking, not to mention genetically engineered to be born in batches of millions or converted from captured subjects into a death machine fueled by pure hatred with no remorse.
So yeah, probably a Dalek.

Anon plz, if ayylmaos designed anything, it'd be like the Factors from Eclipse Phase or some kind of fractal bush-bot.

How fast could that drive if that thing on the back was ignited?

Well the ideal morphology would of course on what weapons are used against it, but if I had to guess I would say something along the lines of a snake: It can hug the ground, move lightning fast, and move stealthily.

ez
What would be the purpose? I mean, would it just kill indiscriminately or would their be a purpose its killing? If it was just going to kill indiscriminately it would be a gigantic object colliding with planets at extreme speeds.
I think OP is trying to imply that humans were engineered to be fighting machines for the aliens
>>32864385
If I was engineered, I wish to speak to my designer about a penis upgrade.

probably a small drone with guns/rockets ala The Colony. after those drones clear out anything it doesn't matter the shape of whatever moves in to occupy the territory.

>Prove me wrong.
Okay
>>32862103
Replace your "soldiers" with Marines. We might be able to destroy those terminators.
>>32862103
The most efficient soldier depends on having the right equipment for the job. Pic related will work for situations when you need more firepower, but less than a tank.

Something with decentralized and redundant organs, a bit like that watchacallit bounty hunter in Star Wars who is literally a plate of angry spaghetti in a vaguely humanoid form and is damn near unkillable.

>Two eyes minimum for depth perception
Don't use eyes, give them a 360 degree biological actively scanned array LIDAR or radar. A LIDAR system would still work like an eye when operating passively.
>Two legs minimum for stability and climbing.
Wheels on 2 legs, or use some kind of tentacle / snake body; it's more resistant to damage, doesn't have key joints that can be damaged, is omni directional, better for water and zero G.
>Two arms minimum for holding and steadying.
One arm (again a tentacle) would be fine for most jobs; 2 fingers minimum for opposable grip, three recommended for 3-point stability of whatever its holding / holding onto, any more would just be redundant, particularly if the fingers can flex omnidirectionally.
If you're wondering what that'd look like, just imagine a snake with some 3-fingered tentacle arms and a spherical dome head.
>>32867872
Wouldn't four fingers be the ideal? Three for the kung fu action grip and one for operating whatever the given device is (I'm imagining a trigger but obviously there's a lot more)

Reaper Morph from Eclipse Phase
>4 independently tracking omni purpose weapon mounts
>Skin can be modded with anything from optical camo to enhanced sensors
>Upgrades for nanobot self repair
>Multiple types of thrusters to allow hovering and flight in any environment from Earth-G atmospheric to Zero-G vacuum.
>Multiple tentacle arms with magnetic clamps and gripper arms
>Generally tough as shit

>Minimum fingers (presumably 5) for dexterity
Wrong. Humans have 5 fingered hands due to evolutionary conceit, 3 fingers is more efficient.
