Alrighty guys I need some good opinions on what pistol caliber carbine to get, ive been really considering one of the mech techs and a full size glock, but cant decide which of the 3 big calibers (9, 40, 45) I want. would probably prefer something that takes glock mags. fire away!
>>
this is mainly something Id like for hiking, plinking, maybe as a trunk gun
>>
if you take into account price per round, i think that takes 45 out of the running IMO.
i vastly prefer 9mm but in a carbine, 40 would be ok as well.
as far as possible rifles off the top of my head: the mech tech (and other glock) conversions, AR styled pcc, just right carbines, kel tec sub2000, and the kirss vector
>>
>>32859804

The only quality PCC that takes Glock mags currently is the Vector.

I have an MPX currently and love it, but mags are expensive. 1000rds through it so far without a failure.
>>
>>32859880

low quality bait, you overdid it

trolling is a art
>>
No.32859880 Already have a 556, just want a pistol carbine to go with the full size handgun I want to buy
>>
>>32859888
Kriss is a little bulky, and heavy for what I need but great suggestion
>>
>>32859861
I really just need to figure out which would have the best ballistics in a carbine, price isnt a huge concern for me
>>
>>32859976

I'd really recommend the MPX then - the sb-tactical collapsible brace is decent but keeps your handgun status for travel - something you shouldn't overlook in your search as well if you're wanting to use it as a truck gun.

It's also one of the only non-blowback options out right now. I've shot the MPX, Scorpion, MP5, and 9mm and 45acp Vector, and the MPX is by far the lightest recoil.

I'm shilling at this point, get what you want, but don't get something shitty like an AR9.
>>
>>32859804
>Cheapest
>AR9
You can piece together a PSA 9mm AR for sub $600-700. You can use either the glock or colt lower
>Keltec Sub2k
Can easily be found for sub $500 takes pretty much any mag under the sun and it folds.

>Gucci
>MP5 clones
Turk clones can be had for $1400+ they come with 3 mags and can be shockwave bladed to avoid the NFA
>MPX
It's an MPX the bundle isn't as good and it's new mags, but a good gun none the less

>Mid Tier
>Evo
Takes new mags, has some issues, but gets a lot of press and can be found for $700 easy
>CX4
Takes either 92fs or PX4 mags. An adapter to convert the PX4 variant to 92fs is available for $20. Fun gun works well and can be had for $500-700.

If your primary concern is ballistics and not plinking/cross compatibility with your sidearm then you might wanna look for a 10mm PCC or maybe one that can handle .460 rowland if there is such a thing. Of course that really begs the question of why PCC and not a carbine of some sort. If it has to be one of the big three calibers then you're gonna see more velocity gain with the 9mm, very little with the .45, and a moderate amount with the .40. Frankly though, i think anyone down range is going to be pretty hard pressed to notice a difference.

This website has a pretty good amount of info on the effect of barrel length on various calibers

KRISS Vector in your choice of caliber if you want to be cool
>>
>>32860122
No.
It attaches with a vertical picatinny rail and the it's fairly precisely made to recess into the receiver cuts on the mpx.

For an mp5 fake sbr I tend to favor the folding ar stock+ shockwave look.

Sb did just make a folding brace for the evo that looks nice, I don't know if their is an mp5 version

Get a CX4, never look back. Beretta 92 mags will cost you a bag of peanuts for a handful of mags at any gunshow. Takes 30 round mags too.

You'll never look back, the gun performs as well as any intermediate caliber rifle out to 200 yards.
>>
>>32865191

>all metal construction

its called advancement of technology. Just because something is decades old doesn't mean it always going to be the best. Look at the 1911 for instance. Great back in the day but laughable as anything other than a range toy in this age.

I guess that's why it is THE competition pattern these days.

Seriously, nobody cares about 'fighting guns'. Find your sports niche and invest in the best hardware you can get for it. For gofast pistol shooting, that's the 1911 and 2011-likes.
>>
Does anyone know if current Mech-Tec CCUs fit old XD9s? I'd like one for my XD since I don't carry it and I'll be picking up a built 1911 for competing, leaving it to gather dust. 147gr out of a 16" barrel hardly even requires earpro.

the Evo has been one of my best purchases to date

>Fairly Cheap
>Exceedingly reliable (in my experience)
>Eats pretty much all ammo types
>Light
>Compact
>Good shooter
>Accurate
>Cheap and readily available mags (Compared to the MPX)

The market is continuing to embrace it, and there are more and more aftermarket things being added every day.

My experience is with the Pistol variant (Form 1 should be back this week) with the Shockwave Brace, but I'd wager the carbines are all the above, just a bit longer.

Torn between the Zhukov+Adapter, or the CZ Stock
>>
>>32859804
9mm is the best route since you can shoot it for cheap but if ou need to use it IRL there are some really good 9mm rounds you can get that has identical ballistics to quality 40 rounds. 45 is a meme in this day and age. I have Gen 2 Sub2K that I love but finding one in 9mm for under $600 is impossible and the gun isn't worth more than $450 anyway, they are good guns even though they are Meme Tec. You can;t go wrong with Mech Tech but for about the same amount of money, you can build a PSA 9mm AR. I finally got the last of my parts in and will be assembling mine this weekend. If you want to do it on the cheap, watch PSA for their all to frequent sales and get a blem 9mm Glock mag lower for $225-250 and then order an upper when they go on sale. You can have a running 9mm glock mag carbine w/ sight for $700 quite easily if you watch the sales. The PSA 9mm carbines also have some stellar reviews and there are several YouTube review videos about them now.

You can also do a 92 mag AR, and so long as it has the mag catch cut and it's long enough a PPQ mag will work in a 92 mag well: sub2k, cx4, 92, etc.

On the underside of your refrigerator there is a switch. Reach under there and feel for it. Don't mind the dust clumps and the roaches. You'll know it when you feel it, it's a hard metal tab sticking out of a slot in the plastic underside. I will be set on the righthand side (when you're facing the fridge). If you switch it to the left, nothing will happen. Your appliances will continue to run, the floor won't open into a swirling vortex that leads directly into the deepest circle of hell. You won't even hear a hitch in the hum of the refrigerator. You will get up and brush off and go about your business, you may move out of your apartment and leave the refrigerator behind, switch set to the left like it doesn't even matter.

When you die, five years later, the fingers, toes, and eyes of an unidentified person will be found in your stomach.
