pretty much

ironically it's actually a pretty damn good solution to multiple shots but having the same point of aim (something you don't get with a side by side or OU)

the bottom trigger fires the top barrel, giving you a period typical grip angle. then the same shooting characteristics when you flip the gun to the second shot

snaplocks are a proto flintlock design popular in the ~1500s and beyond but old tech/out of style outside of russia/northern europe in the late 16th and 17th centuries, the latter being most likely where that badboy comes from.
