Not enough to warrant the weight hanging off the end imo. Probably less gay on the aug due to how it balances.
Thinking about Nikon 3x32 in Burris qd mounts. Awful idea? This is my first AR, so I do a lot of reading, but I still don't know much. I'd like something I can reach out further with considering the size of my front sight post often obscures my target box, much less the target I am shooting at at this point, and although I could afford a more expensive optic, is prefer to stick to something I won't regret learning more about this rifle on.

>>32854977

The glass on an ACOG is objectively better than the glass on the strike eagle.
The strike eagle has a slight brown tint and some blur at the fringes. Excellent quality for the price though.

Nope, starting pay for a Trijicon assembler is $8.75 an hour.
You're paying a 300% markup for the name and a $500 premium for the fact that some models contain tritium so the entire facility has to get raped by the EPA every so often.

Okay, and?
I highly doubt a company that can't even pay people $10 an hour out the gate is gonna be handing out too many $1/hr raises. They probably get an extra quarter an hour a year, meaning they have to be with the company 5 years before they break your arbitrary laughably-bad floor of $10 an hour that you so heavily implied they make significantly more than.

My best guess is that Bobro omits a production step which causes the standard rough texture. If you look at an iPhone, the anodizing is similarly babby-smooth. I don't think it's an abrasive treatment, because the corners are all still nice and clean. I don't think it's a chemical treatment because the anodizing isn't shit. I also don't think it's machining because I've never seen a machine mark on a Bobro product.
It's a pretty stark difference even next to a quality upper receiver's type III coat, pic related.
Whatever Bobro does, Larue needs to figure it out and stop fucking up optics and rails for their customers while calling them "stupid" on forums.

No thanks, I milled a fingertip off once and dont want to do that again.

Lemme guess, you're a CNC operator for Trijicon aren't you?
>>32855318
Pretty sure he was asking what you manufacture, not how much money you make.

It bums me out that I don't contribute much

I do fab work for a small racing team, it's great
What kind of equipment do you use day to day?
Any personal projects?
>>32855269
>A lot of taxes
true but if you live in the cheaper areas, you can live p decently.
>>32855305
google translate, draw it on the paper and cut it out. it doesn't really mean "meme" it would sound like "meme" when pronounced.

>>32855351
we have pre hard in the shop. fuck that shit.
>What kind of equipment do you use day to day?
for the moment a couple of Mazaks, drill presses, brideports and some ancient lathe.
>Any personal projects?
every once in a while. Nothing that really peaks people interests.
>>32855351
>>p decently
>>California

>>32855360

>>32855341
Okay. Did you do any prep work? Just regular spray paint?
>>32855365
>piques
Sorry, I tried not to, I'm autistic though.
What's all the debate about acogs?
Did you guys forget they got btfo by barsaka AND eclan?
>>32855375
of my work? nope, id be fired on the spot if caught. Not gonna risk that.
>ball ways covered in fiberglass
>>32855378
got BTFO by anon because they're expensive for no reason, as well.
>>32855391
He was correcting the term "piques peoples interests" not asking for pics.
Go to bed man
>>32855391
No I meant you said "peaks people's interest" when it's supposed to be "piques people's interest."
Again, I apologize, pure grammatical autism.
>>32855375
>>32855399
>>32855402

>Go to bed man

>>32855412
>...asked for pics in spanish or some shit.
I enjoyed that more than I should have. Buenos noches Hoosier.
R8.
Also taking suggestions for M-lok compatible bipod stud.
>>32855413
Okay.
Also, we have very similiar tastes in AR's. I even think I have a pic saved of your AR. is this it(probably not)?
Is it weird that when I pick out surplus US GI magazines I try to find which ones in the lot are the most beat up/heavily used looking? I try to stick to Okay industries. Will they function worse than the newer looking ones?
>>32855447
that's not mine. I would never use that stock, grip, optic, or hand guard.
How are those CMMG .22 lr chamber/bolt conversions? Seems like a solid way to plink cheap
>>32855497
They work.
You're gonna lead the shit out of your barrel though, .22lr bullets are .220" so won't obturate properly.
>>32854924
What's the optic on the SBR?
>>32855510
That doesn't sound like too much of an issue as long as you run a brush through it before swapping back.. Speaking of bore brushes, do people really use them? I've always been afraid it will damage the rifling or crown as stupid as that sounds.. is it really effective?
>>32855483
Okay. How are you liking the pencil barrel on yours?
>>32855530
Lead can be a real bitch to get out, "run a brush through it" frequently isn't enough. Especially if the bore had copper and carbon fouling in it to start with.
Yes, a phosphor-bronze brush will accelerate barrel wear, which is why it's recommended to not do it every time you clean your gun and not clean your bore every time you shoot. But the wear is minimal.
Clean from the chamber end and you have a 0% chance of damaging the crown.
>>32855530
Truthfully I'm not convinced that cleaning your barrel actually extends its lifespan. Seems like it would improve accuracy, but even then competition marksmen recognize that you need to shoot several fouling shots to get the barrel dirty again before it starts shooting consistently.
Seems to me that you're only putting more abrasion on the bore, all while exposing the surface of the bore to more direct contact from bullets.
This is just pseudoscience conjecture, but I'd be interested to hear some opinions on it.
>>32855518
holosun infiniti. crispy then my eo-tech was, total fine on a 200 yard and in rifle.
>>32855533
it's a BCM 14.5 pencil, it's light but I can't get it below 1.5moa with good ammo 2moa with decent ammo. I suppose that's fine but I'd prefer 1 moa or less with handloads like my mk12 douglas barrel.
why do i like the way this looks?
>>32855651
Because you have terminally shit taste.
>>32855651
oh fugggg, I wonder if that would fit my M700 chassis. that would be great for a precision rifle
>>32855651
Looks like it has to slide over the buffer tube to install it, but how would you install the safety detent spring, when you're sliding the pistol grip on forwards.
>>32855728
>slide it on at slight angle
>depress safety detent spring into grip with flat-blade screwdriver or razor blade
>turn until lined up
>withdraw screwdriver or razor blade
c'mon now, we all know your trip is because you have the IQ of a lower primate but that's seriously shit a lemur could figure out.
>>32855709
Used to walk the fields with my grandpa cracking open the pods and looking for ones with four beans. It was a good omen to him.
>>32855773
You shouldn't have to think too hard to figure out why what you're saying is literally impossible. Glass houses something something
>>32855709
>>32855651
fuck, the chassis has special snowflake dimensions, no way I could bullshit it on either.
>>32855443
Get rid of that cancerous stock, and it's gtg
deciding on my first optic, I have an upper with a standard A2 front sight post, should I get an optic that co-witnesses with the front sight or put it on a riser? what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
>>32856459
I always opt lower 1/3 with red dots. Advantage is clearing the front sight post for a cleaner sight picture. You can still get down behind the rear sight and the dot will lollipop on top of the front sight like it would in an absolute. Important for me for overall speed of acquisition and getting a clear picture, becomes more so if you add something like an IR laser box on the top rail since that will clutter up an absolute cowitness even more.
>>32856459
buy an MRO from aim surplus with the 1/3 mount, mine has been pretty good
>>32853952
which do you guys prefer, and is a lot more friendlier for noobs (and overall performance)
>>32857096
right all day
>>32857103
Any reasons why you would choose a bdc reticule over a moa reticule?
>>32857109
because I don't shoot MOA tier shit with my AR
If you are going for a precision spr build, sure
>>32857115
So would you say a MOA reticule allows you to be more 'precise' ?
I'm probably not gonna be doing MOA shit either, I'd like to just hit the target. But being 'precise' doesn't sound so bad either
>>32857123
you can still be precise
>>32857096
Precision gun: Mil
3 gun or general carbine: BDC
Just go these puppies in.
>>32857147
plans?
>>32857150
One is gonna be an a4gery and one will be a dissy or a 14.5in pinned and welded.
>>32857174
I had one, they are front heavy and meh
shoot almost as soft as my 16 tho
>>32854387
>looks like a pretty decent rifle build.
that would be because it's one of my old pictures
>>32854433
it's 20
>>32857362
