.22 Thread?

I don't own one and have had mixed experiences, but I like the 10/22. Lots of customization options available, probably the most of any .22.

I rented one that fed every time and was an absolute joy. I rented another one that was admittedly beat and it jammed constantly and sucked.

If you go 10/22, buy new.

Whatever I purchase most definitely will be new. I guess if I get the 10/22 I'm uncertain if I want the breakdown version or not. Not that it's necessary but itd be a nice backpack gun.

If you're looking for shits and giggles the Mossberg blaze-47 is actually pretty reliable and looks like an AK (for shits and giggles) plus you'll have enough left in your budget for a 10/22 to be serious

If you go 10/22. Build it. Its only like 5 parts. You can do a buuuuuunch of different builds so that opens a lot of options. If i didnt get the custom stock for mine it would be only like $150-180. Tons of fun with it though. Also you have the option of supressed barrels. Which i don't know a whole lot about, but i think you don't even need a tax stamp for them.

Henry Lever you absolutely going for the peculiar action. Be sure to like to work that lever always or it'll get boring.

Marlin .22 probably one of the most graceful and honest .22 semiauto out there. I own a M60c, and I love it. You can have the magazine or tube version.
Customisation is really limited compared to a 10/22, there's just a few things out there for it.
But one you'll want for sure is a DIP Inc. aftermarket metal trigger guard. Such a good little rifle ruined by their factory plastic breaktastic guard.

Here's mine, and just imagine the pain to have a DIP guard here overseas...

I've really enjoyed my ruger Mk.III 22/45.

I had to disable the loaded chamber indicator and ditch the magazine disconnect before it became 100% reliable, tho.

But now it feeds and cycles any garbage bullshit ammo i feed it. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Get the 10/22. It is reliable as fuck.
I had my 10/22 since I was a kid and never cleaned it for years and years. Still never malfunctioned once.
I cleaned it for the first time since this summer, and couldn't believe it operated as well as it did with the amount of dirt/carbon built up in the damn thing.
The only thing is that since the factory magazine is of a rotary design, it can actually lose function over time. This may be what you've heard about.

The platform itself is foolproof however.
