Hey /k/, I just recently turned 18 and got my first rifle( Winchester XPR). I went to the range and had a lot of fun shooting it, only problem is, I've got no idea how to clean it. I have a kit and some One shot, but I was reading the manual and apparently you aren't supposed to hit the crown, " Care should be exercised to ensure that
the cleaning rod does not strike the crown of the
muzzle, as damage to this area can affect the accuracy
of your rifle." All I have are copper cleaning rods, and an online tutorial advised against using them, and only pushing them through the barrel once, while taking it out from the muzzle end, ensuring bristles dont break off in the barrel. but the manual says I shouldnt strike the crown with a cleaning rod. I'm lost /k/, care to help?

Remove the bolt and put your cleaning rod through the chamber. Super Simple Stuff.

>Take bolt out of gun
>Spray the brush part of your rod with your solvent of choice
>Do a few back and forth passes through the barrel, make sure you go in through the chamber (that's why you take out the bolt first)
>Let it soak for a few seconds
>Do another pass with fresh solvent
>relax your brush with the cleaning jack
>Put a reasonably sized patch of cloth through the eye of the jack
>Pass it through the barrel a few times
>Replace with clean cloth and do it again
>Keep going until the patch comes out reasonably clean
>Clean the bolt and chamber with a toothbrush and clean cloth
