Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck! Tell me this is a good firearm. I need someone to tell me I did not just blow half a paycheck.
>>
>$600 for a PX4

You got ripped off, especially now that the Compact Carry edition is out.
>>

You'll find members of the BIDF come out of the woodwork, but I think it's trash. You done fucked up.

You should have bought a Perfection® if you're looking for approval.

I think they are ugly and out of place, but my buddies has been reliable and they have a little cult following.

It's a fine gun but so fucking ugly, DA/SA and slide mounted safety - for me personally that equates to hot garbage.

Trips of truth

Also could have gotten a P320 and a couple different grips for that price.
>>
>>32848427
I love my Px4. I've only had two malfunctions, one due to bad ammo and one because a new shooter I let borrow it limpwristed it.

Slide mounted safeties do take getting used to, but I like mine.

I bought a usp .40c about a year ago. I think I have less than 150 rounds thru it. I wanted a .45c, they didn't have one. I already had 2 other 9mm so I impulse bought the .4o cause I didn't have a handgun in that caliber. It's not a bad gun I just didn't need it and settled for something I didn't really want.

Every single person who comes on /k/ should have this bookmarked.

Mods, fucking update the sticky so anons don't get finnessed like this anon did.
>>32848493
Why a manual safety specifically? DA/SA is 100% safe without a manual safety. Luckily for you, the PX4 can be converted to a decocker easily. You did get ripped off but the PX4 Compact is a good gun.
>>
>>32848472
You might be able to convert it to 10mm if you want
I know you can convert the full size ones
Its still a very good gun
I love my 9mm Compact
>>
>>32848493
What?
Did you forget about the compact Jericho or the CZ75D? Two much better guns
>>
>>32848520
>same price
You kind of made me feel better. Got the INOX not the regular black on black.

Safety is a big concern for me. The more layers of safety you use the less likely there is an accident. DA/SA may be good enough for most but I rather err on the side of caution.

>The more layers of safety you use the less likely there is an accident.

This is true but you really don't need a manual safety on a DA/SA when you can thumb the hammer like in pic, eliminating the potential for an ND when drawing or reholstering. The heavy DA pull will be more forgiving if you do get your finger a little too early on a draw.

Interstingly enough, there is one instance of a cop getting his Beretta M92 taken away from him from a suspect and was only able to return fire with his backup gun only because the suspect wasn't able to defeat the safety. I would still opt for converting it from a type F to a G decocker only.

I mean they are similar in the safety department but they appear to be around the same size, weight, and price. Px4 has the rotating barrel which is unique and I never saw anything that would cast doubt on the reliability of the Beretta. Any reason you think the other two are superior?

This is a real question. There is still time to cancel the order if there is a better option.

My AES-10B, ended up trading it for an ACOG, big and heavy and serves no purpose that my SGL-21 couldnt cover, only heavier and more unweildy

God dammit, OP. You really fucked up by not getting a CZ 2075 RAMI 9mm as your compact gun :(

The more layers of safety you have the more layers of safety you expect to be present, creating more problems when one is absent.

I didn't have a problem with decockers myself until I've competed with one. I actually had a Beretta PX4 as my competition pistol and I disliked it intensely. Since then I've moved on to a manual safety instead, just felt more right to me than a decocker.
>>
>>32848687
Not OP, but Ive literally never been able to see one in person
Nobody ever has it or it has just been sold

Run that by me again Jaden.

More layers of safety means that even if you fuck up or forget a step there is another to prevent a ND. Like the rules of firearm safety. Even if you forget to check the chamber, even if you lack trigger discipline, as long as you remembered not to point at anything you don't intent to kill your ND isn't going to hurt anyone.
>>
>>32848752
>Even if you forget to check the chamber

I mainly shoot DA/SA and I will disagree with you on this. If you have to have a manual safety because you are unable to follow the basic rules of gun safety, you shouldn't carry a gun let alone own one.
>>
>>32848452
Also tuned action, NP3+ coated internals, night sights, low profile decocker, oversized mag release, talon grips. Yes, you can do all of these things yourself. It will be more expensive to do so in the end, however.
>>
>>32848427
I'm not even a broke ass, but $600 still falls under the realm of major purchase for me. You should have done your research, no time to impulse buy.

Oh well, you got a gun, it'll shoot.
>>
>>32848682
>guy who gets paid to shill for Beretta likes his
What a fucking suprise
>>32848656
You have the option of getting a frame safety with both, which is a far better setup, and they both have cheaper magazines and a larger aftermarket than Beretta's failed garbage
>>
>>32848427
No personal experience with them, have several buds that own then and like them. Overall they seem to be good pistols.

Sorry to keep beating a dead horse but you paid too much. See if the shop will do a refund, then go buy one online if you really ant one.
>>
>>32848800
So much derp, in one little post.
>>
>>32848472

just get a 10mm barrel for it and its good to go.
>>
>>32848427
I have one in 45 acp. Its a great gun and you can feel the reduced recoil for sure. Its pretty accurate and reliable. The only issue is that it doesnt like shitty ammo because of the rotating barrel mechanism. Just stick to white box or federal you should be fine. It doesnt perfectly fine with all defense ammo as well. I use hornady critical defense. Never had an issue that wasnt from the ammo (usually steel case).

As opposed to pre purchase affirmation? How are you supposed to draw conclusions about a product before you buy it and test it out for yourself?

Hmm, I wonder if they would be willing to give their opinion on the pistol if I called them up...
>>
Sexy and super comfy
>>
>>32848427
Having owned the full size here's some things.
1) It's a soft shooter and fun to shoot
2) It's a decent polymer gun and surprisingly ergonomic
3) It's a good gun, but at the price point you just paid you got played
4) It's a good gun that came to late to the market and suffers trying to find it's place amongst the bevy of tupperpistols

MD actually had to recall their PX4s for mag issues. Sadly it's a good gun that lost out because Glock and M&P have a bigger market and are willing to get those contracts more.
>>
>>32848427
coulda got a Shield for $300
>>
>>32849525

Beretta Guy here:

It wasn't just mag issues; the gun was never improved, though they did resolve the mag issues (by and large). Supposedly fewer issues with the 9mm than the 40. I will only use one as a range toy, though the CX4 in 9mm is solid (same mags so be sure to get the re-released).
>>
>>32848427
I'm hoping to get that exact model this year. Nice. If you don't want it you can always sell it and get most/all your money back.

>>
why does Beretta like putting goofy ass slide decocker/safeties on good guns? Those new CC's are chunky too, I think I'd still go with the compact.
>>
>>32848427
My dad has one and he really likes it. I've shot it a couple of times and I liked it as well.
>>
>>32851357
Can you feel the circular torque of the rotating barrel or just the softer kick?
>>
>>32848915
I believe south Africa issues them. There's a video of an officer driving around on a dirt bike shooting at some criminal trying to get away in a car.
>>
>>32848752
>even if you lack trigger discipline
If you don't have perfect TD with a certain gun you shouldn't be CCing that gun. You need to go to the range and practice handling the gun more before you start carrying it because you're going to end up shooting it negligently.

>>32848800
Can someone please explain to me what is inherently bad about a slide mounted safety? I have had no issues reaching or manipulating my Px4's safety.
>>
>>32849714
Thanks, but I just bought two handguns, so it will be some time before I get a Storm.
