Forever in transit, RIP memes.

I have a can of Aervoe paint and a B5 grip heading back to DSG arms so they can correct the address and hopefully get it shipped to work since I have no one 21 years old at home during a work week.

you have to be 21 to receive paint?
Anything better than rocksett for muzzle devices?

Yeah that's what I said. Apparently its a regulation that UPS has, I asked the lady at UPS if it can just go across the street to my neighbor:
>"Well an adult has to be there to sign for it"
>"Well he's 60 fucking years old, I think he might be an adult"
In my defense I was getting a little pissy from the run around.

painting everything the new trend now that giddy has shit posted all of his Picasso ar15s?
>>32847486
It's not so much the age, they kept trying to deliver it while I'm at work and wouldn't tell me when it would be delivered. I can't take off a whole day for that. The alternative was I drive to the distribution center, passing DSG on the way, and pick it up there at 7 in the evening. I refused that on principle.

>>32848585
No, a value line would not be a $300-500 scope that performs worse than a $100 Weaver Kaspa. If I genuinely thought the glass was worth $300 I wouldn't bitch about it, but they're legit junk for the money.
>>32848589
>that's pretty cheap for optics lol
Thanks to the proliferation of cheap Chinese shitglass, by total models produced it's actually in top 10% most expensive. But yes, by /arg/ standards it's cheap.
>If the glass is clear and it's somewhat durable it's not bad
Unfortunately the answer to both of those is "hell no", the glass is uncharacteristically bad for Leupold and they're quite fragile because they're so light. Tube walls are paper thin and the erectors are made out of diecut aluminum.
>I prefer vortex though
I prefer Huskemaw but they don't make AR-appropriate optics. Vortex is the price:perf king but even the HD gen2's aren't quite up to NF standards, which in turn aren't quite up to S&B standards.
>>32848611

I'm seeing it for $3770 in several places with either the MOAR or F1 reticle, and even the H59 is only $4100 in several places. The cheapest PMII 5-25x with a milrad reticle is a little below that but all their Horus reticles are about $4800.

REEEEEEEEE HURRY UP MAILFAGS
>>32848931
Also, that's the "baseline" PMII 5-25x, shit like their High Power scopes, the Digitals, or LP/MTC are somewhat better and a hell of a lot more expensive (High Power 3-27x sells for around $6000 but glass is no better than the PMII baseline)
>>32848899
You gonna para or no
>>32848979
Not for this one. Just a standard Imbel kit. I might on future FALs but I wanted to start on something simple for my first build.
>>32848996
All you gotta do for para tho is have another lower, top cover, and bolt carrier
>and spend 600 getting it
It's like upper swapping 25 years before ARs made it cool
>>32849003
Nah, I'm going to keep this one standard since it's a 21 inch barrel. If I wanted to do a para I'd probably get an 18 inch.

The only reason this is acceptable is because of Fallout 3
Also isn't T48 inch pattern? Or am I thinking of the wrong trial rifles. You could always go with some of that pristine and ridiculously expensive Belgian shit that is still floating around for like 800 dollars a set
>>32849062
I think the more accurate way of framing that is: Surfire and Trijicon wouldn't have government contracts if they weren't worth buying.
>>32849095
I feel like the Accupower and Accupoint lines are priced appropriately for their quality, and that the only reason the ACOG, VCOG, and RMR are as comparatively expensive as they are is because of the government contracts for them.
Picked up a Surefire M600U and a tail cap switch. What's a better way to mount the light at the 1 o'clock position: inline mount on the keymod section or an offset mount on the top rail?
>>32849114
>Also isn't T48 inch pattern
I'm actually not sure. Some of the trial rifles were made by FN and some by other American companies so I really don't know. Either way, I'm a ways off from even building the rifle, let alone getting really nice furniture.
>>32849122
Keymod with an inline. Gets it closer to the bore and doesn't eat top rail in case you ever want a PEQ or want to attach a tape switch to the rail.

>>32849170
I still like EOTechs...very usable/fast reticles.
>>32849189

Simple dots are the norm across the board, and the clarity of glass/plastic in mrds is pretty good across the board.

While I'm no wizard, I most definitely would have noticed a 12 MOA shift. That's extremely significant.

My favorite part:
>Shortly thereafter, a sales and marketing employee wrote to the Co-founder “in confidence” about Mangano’s email, stating, “I have an issue with this . . . Is it worth risking one person’s life on this? What if there is a guy in the mountains in Afghanistan, and he brings up his sight picture on the enemy who has the drop on him with an AK[?] He takes aim as quickly as possible and puts a shot that misses wide due to the distortion of the reticle. He’s dead a fraction of a second later from a 7.62 mm round. This is a dramatic example, but this is the risk that is posed the longer the end-user is unaware of the risk.” The sales and marketing employee added that “[w]e have been sitting on this issue for a long time and it makes me very uncomfortable that we have still donw nothing about this to protect soldiers and LEOs [law enforcement officers] of both this country and those across the globe from getting killed. What if it has happened already?”
>>32849360
I only shoot at moderate ranges and the OTM is more accurate in that regard, besides the OTM is still devastating balistically
>>32849395
That's not how how MOA works retard.
>>32849281
Have used both trijicon (rm06) and vortex venom.
Trijicon is better.
>>32849454
I'm assuming your rm06 was pretty much brand new then?
Because their lens coating yellows rapidly, to the point a 2-year-old RMR is damn near opaque.
>>32849441
This is kind of how I think about companies like Jennings or Remington or HK who make these absolute dogshit guns. If people are carrying them to protect themselves it's pretty irresponsible and bordering on unethical to cut corners where you know you're going to sacrifice quality. That's especially how I see the R51 which was marketed as a CC pistol. Downright unethical to actually release those turds to the market.

>I only shoot to moderate ranges and the OTM is more accurate in that regard
That's not been my experience with either redbox or bluebox (reman) Black Hills, or my experience handloading both the SMK and TMK.
Across 6 rifles and 2 calibers the TMK has been substantially more accurate even at 100yds when compared to an SMK of the same weight. I attribute this to consistent lengths of both the ogive and overall bullet (I don't bother trimming meplats on OTMs).

Aimpoint Micro > MRO
LT-660 > ADM QD

Is there some sort of tier-list floating around for upper manufacturers? I'm lego-ing my first AR and don't want shitty performance.

MSD makes me angry for a different reason. He used to be one of my more liked trips before he got into ARs, was actual a decent dude to talk to with some legitimate opinions. Seeing him fall this far kills me a little inside.

Really considering this because after just slapping on a 60 dollar Anderson lower this would only be line a 600 dollar 20" rifle.
Why do I like 20"? Because I'm actually retarded.
Anyone have ecperience with these or have any big warnings about them?

Mostly target shooting with cheap ammo (hopefully with good groupings), but it will serve as my main SHTF gun so thats a consideration also. I'm looking to spend no more than $700 for a complete upper, but the less money the better. Any suggestions?

Nah, carried one for a couple years. Great utilitarian pistols but I've moved on to shit I shoot better.
I just got back into the AR market today after a 4 year hiatus, picked up a mid length PSA upper with 16" FN CHF barrel. Any sweet AR lowers on sale you guys know of at the moment? Ayyy. Firming up a good deal on a PVS14 as I type this. Gimme details on your mounting hardware. I shoot a handful of times a year with loner nods from my buddies, but always end up stuck with a god damned skull crusher. Definitely going the bump helmet route with counterweight at the rear.
>>32850408
>likes goats and pic rails that aren't ris2

>>32850149
If your still here then just about any upper seems will do. 20" is great for high velocity, but less common. $700 is a good price point though. It's the sweet spot for uppers.
