That's why lots of countries that had conscription designed weapons with burst (the FAMAS for example) for that reason, but mofern armies doesn't use it because it's less precise that semi and less fast than full retard. Burst is the middle ground of the two and combines the inaccuracy of full retard and the low rpm of single fire, it's literally useless if the shooter knows what they're doing.

Personally I found that modifying a Mosin Nagant to burst is the best option.

Burst Fire's usefulness is dependent on the situation. In a prolonged firefight it makes sense, as it conserves ammo. Whereas in CQB, full auto serves better provided the are is clear.

Incorrect. The question is of importance because Bumpfire & Slidefire stocks exist for AK and AR platforms and they work quite well. They are not NFA items so anyone can use them with no tax or paperwork.
As for tendies budget, Texas Bumpfire sells a stock that works for $99.00. Ammo still costs the same now matter how you fire it.

For burstmode you have the Echo and Binary triggers that sell for $450ish. They give you one bullet fired when the trigger is pulled and one fired when you release the trigger. It's just as fast and controllable as a 2 round burst.

For smaller calibers like .223/5.56 burst can be good if your hitting something larger than a varmint. It's not that great or needed with the larger calibers like .308, .458, or .50 Beowulf.

Well it depends on the weapon. Heavy hitters lie the AK family don't need more than one shot usually, that and also most AK knockoffs don't have burst. But when it comes to the fast firing accurate rifles like the bullpup AUG or FAMAS, you usually need more than one shot on target, so either you can pull the trigger 3 times for 3 shots or hold it down for half a second and probably lose accuracy


tl;dr, burst is for retards who can't use semi or auto properly, so it's perfect for modern use.
