So /k/, I'm an engineer and I'm looking to create some new AR parts in my spare time. Does any body here have any detailed drawings of AR 15 parts. I'm specifically looking for details and measurements of the bolt carrier, the buffer tube, and the buffer assembly.
I can tell you that they only require a moderate amount of google-fu to find. If you can keep the thread up for 4 hours, i'll post links.

Ok cool. Thanks my dude. Yeah, I'm just having trouble finding measurements for those particular parts. There's drawings of receivers for days, but less so for buffer tubes

use a bigger hammer. literally.
How about removing the buffer shit tube in an affordable way?

I tried the bigger hammer site first. They didn't have anything apart from the receiver.

Starting with a carrier. No clue on the legitimacy of the dimensions (actual spec or measured from a sample), and there's no gas key.

Continuing, here's a set of A size prints for a carrier and bolt. Carrier appears to be the "semi only" variety, but that's a dimension you can probably find elsewhere. Again, no guaranteed validity of the dimensions and tolerances, but it's something.

Apparently magpul decided to be helpful at one point; here's some "mil-spec" buffer tube dimensions. You'll have to figure out your own position hole spacing, though.
My searches are getting drier and my time is getting short. Couldn't find a rifle receiver extension print, couldn't find a buffer assembly print.
>buy 30 from the same manufacturer
>measure dimensions for everything
>use statistics and your own design sensibility to determine ideal dimensions and tolerances
Cheers.
