I'd build an AR. Just get a basic upper and lower before splurging on gucci. Don't fall into the trap of buying anything that you can strap to your gun if you can avoid it. The only "essentials" are irons, an optic, a sling, and a muzzle device.

Forego the Maverick and opt for the 590A1. For what you describe it is ideal. The Maverick is the only shotgun I've heard a first hand story of going kaboom. I will say that I was told it was older.

If you are going new, get the 88 its the best new value shotgun you can get. Plus it takes 500 barrels so you could get a fudd one for shit.

If you go used get a old 870 (wingmaster/magnum/police magnum) ithaca 37 or maybe a regular mossberg 500.

Southern ohio gun still has some trade in police magnums I think.
I got an older polce trade in 870 and like it more than my maverick besides the shell lifter.

You can open Bobro levers without marking them by bracing them with your finger instead of letting them snap open.

I mean the m600 is more light for the money, but after using 500 lumen and 700 lumen lights on the gun, 300 lumens is right in the sweet spot for still being usable in pitch black on white wall.

Offset looks pretty cool but it's really unnecessary with the SR07 switch.

223 wylde can withstand the pressure of 556 while still retaining the accuracy of a 223 chamber that 556 chambers allegedly lose. plenty of folks shoot tiny groups with 556 barrels so whether or not wylde is worth it over 556 is up for debate, but you dont lose anything by choosing wylde over 556, only potential gain. i have a BA stainless wylde on my SPR-ish build it shoots real nice.

The TRS-25 is fucking shit.

It's usable if you have time to turn it on and don't leave it on for more than half an hour at a time. But even then it's fucking shit, it fogs up like crazy, the dot isn't crisp, it has an obstruction in the view making it hard to use lower 1/3 co-witness, shit battery life, shit brightness (not bring enough), and shit controls.

Wasting money on a shit-tier optic like the TRS-25 is fucking stupid, just buy a quality optic.

If you're using night vision and have a use for the IR laser they are excellent. Would highly recommend using in conjunction with an IR weapon light as the i2 does not have an illuminator, otherwise maybe look at one of the Steiner models with built in illuminator.

I can't find a pic but mine was one of those that came with the imbedded rear sight and M4 style telescoping stocks, and overmolded handguards with poly rails at the 3, 6, and 9. Maverick is by no means a good gun. However, it's applicable for most scenarios.
