more metal parts? let them swim in mineral spirits aka paint thinner. if they're only lightly coated, any sort of regular gun cleaning product should do the work.

for wood parts, you'd want to leave them outside on a hot sunny day and let the cosmoline effectively melt off, occasionally wiping the wood down every hour or so.

>>
Would it be viable to buy one of the finnish m39s from psmilitaria? Or can they be found cheaper elsewhere?
>>
>>32837083
An American to Canada, you'd need to get a PAL.
Then you'd have to make sure it's all non-restricted stuff you're bringing.
And make sure the magazines are limited if it's semi-auto.

Not really worth it for you. What were you planning on bringing? What for?
>>
>>32837083
If it's classified as NR here in Canada then you can get temporary permits from the border security, provided you submit the paperwork in advance. If you want to stay longer than the short period allotted under that system you'll need a PAL. You are still bound by the various silly rules while you're here, no matter how long you're staying though, so I do recommend sticking to manual actions unless you have 5 round mags ready for your semis. You'll want to call/email CBSA over this well before hand. You'll also want to talk to the US side border security while you're at it.
>>
>>32837116
>>32837244
thanks guys.
yeah im checking those regs now, its just a camping trip, so im probably just going to leave them stateside.

That still leaves the question of where to store them securely for the few weeks.

>And make sure the magazines are limited if it's semi-auto
so even as an american, id have to pin my guns for the time it was in canada? wow, yeah definitely not bringing them
>>
>>32837316
> so even as an american, id have to pin my guns for the time it was in canada? wow, yeah definitely not bringing them

Yeah, definitely an issue. Its why the sports are nearly as large up here. You'll see plenty of serious sport contenders go to the US from Canada but not so much the other way around.

>>
>>32837824

I hear it's gas operated. Clearly an AK variant.
>>
>>32837834
Iirc no action required on the Canadian side coming back as long as your pal is with you and your disclose if asked.

To go there and back with it I think you need to get a permit for the US side of things
>>
>>32837834
You'll just need to make sure you file the appropriate paperwork and such so you can bring them over the border (or take them with you on a plane). I personally haven't gone through with doing that, but I'm sure you can find out what paperwork you'll be required from the RCMP or from US/Canada Border services.

Certainly going to be easier to do if they are non-restricted. If they are restricted you'll need to get a ATT for going into the US and bringing it back. If I'm not mistaken.
>>
Also if you buy ammo there and have leftovers it's a federal crime to try and export it without a permit. Whereas for the Canadian side of things they'll just want to inspect it and see your pal receipts duty etc
>>

>>32837886

Murrican here. A friend of mine (no seriously, I would never be this dumb) went into Canada and then back again with two loaded 30-round AR mags sitting in his trunk that he forgot to take out after target shooting. Neither sides boarder guards found out.

Scary moment for him realizing what he did... got away with it though.
>>
>>32836074
Given that he was charged with attempted murder with a restricted weapon, seems like that's unlikely.

Unless that charge just applies to any firearm.
>>
CBC reporting the following:

The shooter in Sunday's mosque attack abandoned a long gun in the snow when it failed to fire and then returned to the mosque with a handgun to shoot his victims, police told Radio-Canada.

These are among the details emerging about the massacre at the Islamic cultural centre in the Quebec City suburb of Sainte-Foy shortly before 8 p.m. ET Sunday.

According to police sources, when the long gun jammed, the attacker briefly left the mosque and returned moments later to shoot his victims with a nine-millimetre handgun. The exact types of weapons are not known, however, sources said there were 15 rounds in the handgun, which was registered to Alexandre Bissonnette.
>>
>>32839026
I mean, its a little more convenient, especially if you have multiple Restricteds.

Liberals are fucking retarded though and think its a huge fucking deal and that C-42 lets us open carry ARs in shopping malls or some shit.

I'm almost fine just letting them have that. Its annoying but not huge, and they think they're getting away with some big victory.

>>
>>32840768
That's why we need to repeal C-42. If he had to apply for an ATT, it would never have been approved and he could never have shot up that mosque.
>>
>>32837083
You can transport a handgun back and forth across the border by hiding it under the carpet of the passenger footwell in your car. Just fill the area with some empty McDonalds bags and water bottles and shit to discourage detailed searches. They normally just search in obvious hiding spots for joints and whatnot. They also like to ransack your luggage and leave you to put it all back in order when they turn up nothing and walk off in a huff.

Or so I'm told, it should be noted that I have never done this.

Daily reminder that our media is vaguely responsible and doesn't sensationalize these sorts of spree shootings because attention and fame is exactly what the shooter wants, and is the kind of thing that helps encourage more, just like we saw years ago with school shooters (who are no longer hyped up and given tonnes of attention).

>>32846195
ah the thread's jew woke up
>>
>>32846195
It is sort of an odd detail you have to admit, that his long-gun jammed, but he didn't already have his handgun on him.

Although that video of the recent Mexican school shooting gives some insight into how the people might not necessarily take advantage of that time to try and escape. (Everybody just froze up, even after the attacker indicated that he was only after specific targets). I find in a crisis scenario there's only two types of people; people who freeze in place, and people who start barking orders to the mannequins, the latter being much rarer.

So it's quite possible he could have offed the only "leader" personality in the room before his rifle jammed.

And I personally agree, the media needs to stop giving these assholes attention.

As far as the /pol/tard goes, fuck you I'm a /pol/ cross-poster.

Secondly somebody showed their image folder with the same filename from the post that was allegedly his. (So it wasn't his post on /pol/).

Our journalism in this country isn't responsible enough that they would go on to issue a correction on that fact though.

Which post? Yours? Because mine was eloquent and well argued while yours was sperging and insults. That included the typical misinterpretation of my words that /pol/tards love to do.

What I said was that people from /pol/ have been coming in here, and telling people who've been here for years to leave because their politics don't perfectly conform to the /pol/tard's.

The chink ones are perfect, but feel free to pay double their price for the same shit but with a few less blemishes on the finish, and less tooling marks.
>>
>>32847591
At that point it is best to start building one. You can certainly build one at that price point. Or just acquire complete lowers and uppers and put them together.

If you have any questions on what would be compatible and such just ask on the /arg/ general. Or ask around on /r/canadaguns, CGN, etc. You could even talk to the people you're buying your parts from.

You can find part kits and such if you look it up on google. I just typed in 'ar-15 lower receiver canada'.

Here are a few links to get you started if you want to build an AR-15.

http://dlaskarms.com/collections/ar-15-type

https://ctcsupplies.ca/collections/gun-parts

https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=21&cat=Lower+Receiver

http://selectshootingsupplies.com/collections/ar-parts-mag-s

https://truenortharms.com/

Ultimately, do your research. Be very, very thorough. People do sell NEA parts, such as barrels. Which people like to acquire. I just personally find them a bit expensive on the whole. It depends on what you're looking for in an AR though.
>>
>>32847723
I find that hard to believe

I bought an m305 and the quality is awful, I'd rather not take that risk again

Also the cheap chink ARs require more modification so I'd end up spending the same amount of money by the time I changed all the furniture etc. which i wouldn't have to do if I bought an AR with that stuff already on it
>>
>>32847591
>>32847739
Also I'd like to add, if you want to buy a complete rifle in that price range check out WolverineSupplies. They're pretty decent.

I really have no idea what I'm in for though. Is there a short guide, or checklist of some sort to get me started?
>>
>>32847798
>I'm kind of apprehensive to try doing this without some mentoring

Honestly you don't need too much mentoring outside of understanding what it is you're looking to build. There are plenty of videos that explain how to build an AR in nearly any configuration you'd need to know of. A lot of which are very clear and easy to follow.

>I really have no idea what I'm in for though. Is there a short guide, or checklist of some sort to get me started?

I'd suggest asking on /arg/ they can be dick heads on there, but there are people who know their shit and can direct you to any guide or checklist you want. Or they can write you one up to follow along with.

There are also a lot of people on CGN that can give advice. Again it is based on what you're looking to build.

For example. I'm currently still working on building an A2 M16 clone. I have my lower completely done. At this point I either purchase all the components to build the upper half or I buy the upper completed.

I'm looking for the barrel length to be 20" so as such I'm not interested in looking at any lower or higher. It pigeon holes me a great deal, but I have a good idea of what I'm looking for and what I hope to achieve with my build. I'd also look to acquire a heavy barrel personally, but it wouldn't be absolutely necessary to start with.

Using that information I'd look for parts and components that match that specific build. As such I wouldn't be purchasing carbine parts. Meaning I'm looking for parts that are M16 and nor M4 as a result of my build. As I'm going for something more specific.

If I was to build something afterwards I'd probably go with a carbine or a pistol calibre and make the build in accordance to that.

There are a lot of things to consider and with all of the various options and choices you have a plethora of builds that you can achieve.

Again, if you decide to build one.

Good to see some other people are excited about this. I was considering an M305, but honestly if the NEA102 cones through non-restricted then it's no question. Especially considering I would put the M305 in a blackfeather stock and scout handguard.
>>
>>32847776
Furniture is not that expensive, and you better believe the cost of that shit is rolled into any factory AR that comes with aftermarket furniture.

I put a geissele trigger in my chink AR, and I'm going to throw a free float handguard on it at some point. I don't care about anything else, but if and when I do, I can swap it out as needed. It's a lego rifle, anon.

>>

It's someone that expects a $2000 rifle when he's paying $700 for it.

There is literally nothing wrong with the M305.
The barrels are sometimes overindexed so you'll have to make sure the front sight post looks decent before you buy one.

People that say you need to buy replacement parts like the spring guide are full of shit and just blindly follow what others are telling them.

God forbid you don't get Grade A 100% 100% top quality 100% from fucking China.

Question: What do I need to do to be able to vote for Mad Max as the Conservative candidate?
>>
>>32850193

Purchase a membership to the CPC prior to March 28th 2017 (15 CAD for 1 year membership).

Pay the 25 CAD price to vote.

We also need to shill the fuck out of him, lest we get stuck with O'Leary as our leader.
>>
>>32849800
>>32850069
if you pull the trigger on my m305 with the safety on, it will fire when you click the safety off

also they are known to have the bolts fall apart, and various other problems

i guess you "get what you pay for" but it's not a rifle i particularly like and i'd rather not have it at all than have a kinda shitty rifle

i only paid like $450 for mine, this was when they were cheaper and it was at a 20% off store wide sale
>>

And Leitch is getting major backlash from Libcucks, because wah wah there shouldn't be any standards for immigrants. All she seemed to care about was immigration though, don't like her.

In other news, TRUDEAU ISNT CHANGING THE CANADIAN VOTING SYSTEM. THIS IS MAD MAXS CHANCE TO CONFIRM THAT HE WILL ACTUALLY CHANGE IT
>>

Thanks. It'll be 40 bucks well spent.
>>
>>32850320
I can't speak to M305s, but I can categorically say that the norinco AR is a geniuinely decent rifle especially considering the price. No, you're not getting a Daniel Defense or Noveske or whatever, but you're also not paying an arm and a leg. The finish is not pretty, and the furniture is not the most refined plastic, but it shoots straight and functions quite reliably. And you can swap out some of the bits you don't like and still save money.

Hey guys,

Thinking about getting into 3 Gun this Summer and I'm looking at various rifles. I want a non-restricted because I can shoot it at my family's farm.

Currently considering either an SKS or a SU16 to start, and upgrade as I get better.

The sks and ammo is cheap, but unless I shell out for a d, kd, or tapco I'm stuck with stripper clips, and even with mags I'm limited to 5 shots. The su16 on the other hand is more expensive, but will take plar and beowulf mags... but it is a keltec lol.

Any advice? (inb4 get an ar)
>>
>>32851374
Type 97.
>>
>>32851374
The keltec will wear out eventually over time (as does almost any take down model of gun)

They have apparently improved the sturdiness of it, but it's more than likely it will still wear out over time

And although you'll be able to hold more in the su16 the ammo is about twice the price

Stripper clips are actually very convenient and work quite well in an SKS

Was going to suggest a VZ but I guess they're not the most lefty-friendly guns either. My other thought is to try a pistol caliber rifle, like a CX4- that way you get something ambidextrous, non-restricted, and can legally use 10/12 round magazines.

The funny thing about Commie bloc weapons is they're normally fantastic for lefties.
As long as your index finger isn't manlet length, indexing the finger puts it in the perfect spot to press the mag release without changing your grip on the.. grip.

>>
>>32853189
If O'Leary can run for the PM with french that shitty then fucking Gary Doer should oust Mulcair as the NDP leader.

He's the most pragmatic NDP leader in history. He's pretty much the only guy that could ever get the entire left to band behind the NDP, and that's why Harper gave him the US Ambassador job.

Doer was pro balanced budget, and anti gun registry.

Well, in Manitoba the telecom infrastructure was originally controlled by a crown corp (MTS) which was later sold to Allstream inc.

And basically when Gary Filmon (conservative) sold off MTS to a private corp he basically handed an infrastructure monopoly to a single private corp.

MTS went from being "the telephone company" to being pretty god damn reviled by consumers.

So I've come to realize that crown corps have their time and place...

Like there's no free market incentive to build roads and telephone lines to remote places... that's kind of where crown corps have their place. Or with Manitoba Hydro.. building dams in remote places... there's really no private market incentive for that... and yet it keeps Manitoba's lights on with nice sexy clean energy.

So while the government has no place in say... car manufacturing... they have an effective place in other places such as telecommunications, transportation and power generation.

I used to be a libertarian, I've read muh atlas shrugged and all, but I like Manitoba's crown corporations.

I was even talking to a friend tonight that supported gun cuck laws and he said no one NEEDS guns, and all the other liberal crap they go on and on about how "ppl don't need more than 1 gun" and "shouldn't be allowed to have arsenals and collections" and "there's no need to own automatic "assault" rifles"

and I explained to him that ppl don't NEED a 500hp car yet ppl still buy them and want them, why don't ppl outlaw that? Etc etc, and btw I love cars and I love guns and am a right wing libertarian, and it was strange talking to him cause he used to be so right wing now he's very liberal and wants all these laws that take away ppls freedoms and rights and seems to think gun control laws lower crime when I told him that all it does is take away freedoms from everyday law abiding citizens instead of taking guns out of the hands of violent criminals, and it seems most ppl esp liberals seem to think that these laws actually help, when they don't..

It's frustrating seeing just how intolerant and frustratingly left wing your country and citizens are. And almost beg to have their freedoms taken away. It's honestly quite shocking to say the least.

>>
>>32853711

A lot of people make the mistake of assuming that libertarianism means no government. It means the least amount of government necessary.

If a community is best served with a particular service or infrastructure being done via the government, then good on them. You can have a fucking commune if you want under a libertarian government. Can't exactly be libertarian under a communist government, though.
>>
>>32853898
>pay 40 $ a month for unlimited data cellphone plan
That's got to be a legacy plan. I haven't heard of any carriers in the country still offering unlimited data (wind technically used to, but anything over 6gb would be throttled to an unbearable pace).
>>
>>32853930
Here we are at the bump limit.

The biggest problem is people say it's a false equivalence.

Why don't we have gas tanks limited to 10 minute quantities so people can't free from the cops for long in chases?
Why are sports cars with two seats permitted when they have no utility and are only for going fast?
Why aren't vehicles capped out at 90km/h so you can't speed?

To someone who doesn't drive, they'd go "Fuck yeah, put on those restrictions!" because they just don't understand how dumb those laws and restrictions would be.
Not only would they not understand, they wouldn't CARE. They wouldn't care because it literally doesn't affect them.

That's the issue we run into with firearms is the people who don't care are the ones who make the laws and the ones that don't care are the ones that support those laws.
>>
>>32853711
>There's no free market incentive to build infrastructure

That's just plain wrong. As with anything, if a company can make a profit there they will build infrastructure. If they can't make a profit then demand isn't high enough to need it anyways. The beauty of the free market is it's incredible efficiency, and infrastructure is one of the most obvious examples of this.
