Is the TLR1 worth the money? I can get a normal flashlight for $5.

normal light is going to die from the recoil after a few shots
>>
>>32830924
its pretty nice i got one on my bedstand gun. its really bright and easy to use. make sure you get the hl version.
>>
>>32830939
but a few shots is all I need for a would be attacker
>>
>>32830924

I've had a lot of lights, the TLR1 among them.

My favorite light is, for about the last two years, the InForce APL. The pressure switches activate from normal drawing motion if you practice proper trigger discipline, and they're bright as fuck.
>>
>spending over $100 on a fucking LIGHT

are you guys made of money?
>>
>>32831010
All my lights are surefire 300x
>>
>see TLR1 on Amazon for $83 with prime shipping
>impulse buy
>mount it on pistol
>what the fuck is the point of this shit?
Fuck weapon lights. They're even more autistic than the 9 flashlights I have on my desk at any given moment put together.
>>
>>32831010

There's this thing I do, which is pretty unreal, but I'll share it with you.

You see, every other week, I get paid. So, I figure out what I absolutely have to spend those two weeks. Let's use a word for this, we'll call it a "Budget."

Then, I take some of the remainder, and pull it out of my Credit Union in cash, that goes into my wallet. We'll call that "Spending Money."

Then, I put the rest in a "Savings Account" which I use to "Save" money.

If I don't use all of my "Spending Money," it carries over to the next week. A lot of times I'll use that method to make larger purchases.

No, it just went well with my green Hulk gun.

probably, that is unless you can think of a specific thing you want to do with it. I bet you can't though. I know I sure as shit can't think of a single reason to own it now that it's in my hands.
>>
>>32831117
Nah the TLR1 is really nice for the price. Weapon lights are always better than normal handheld flashlights.
>>
>>32831147

For what purpose?
>>
>>32831010
I work a part time job only and I have a TLR on my plastic fantastic.

K but doesn't hell-lava glow anyway?
>>
>>32831010
These and many other gun-related products are little more than conspicuous consumption for the middle class. Often times, they're far past the point of diminishing returns. They're high quality products, but of minimal utility to most customers. This could describe 90% of the AR market. It's why /arg/ is ruled by fashion trends and is more interested in "aesthetics" than practicality. There's nothing wrong with this as long as you recognize that it's a hobby and frequently not based purely on practical considerations.
>>
>>32831164
I dunno shooting in the dark where having light is nice, or blinding people I guess. If you need a light and a gun it's more convenient to have the light on the gun is what I mean.
>>
>>32831197
Is there lava in every nook and cranny of my apartment?? Cuz that would be kickass

The practical application is that you can keep both hands on your weapon and illuminate your target at the same time. How often do you practice shooting one handed?

>>
>>32831298
How often are you in situations where you're shooting in the dark?

You people are just sitting behind keyboards hoping for a dindu to break into your mom's basement so you can impale them with your nugget bayonet while illuminated by an expensive flashlight.

I got suckered by the CHEAP (relatively) price of the TLR1 on sale. It feel retarded. It's completely fucking useless. Anyone who thinks these are appliances and not toys is completely deluded

>>
>>32831495
Its not a meme. You need light, and you shoot better with 2 hands on your gun. So WMLs are great. This is why police have them now.
>>
>>32830924
Start with a normal flashlight first then if you want go to wml. You don't always want to point your gun at an unknown target.
>>
>>32831870
Exactly, any department not issuing/requiring/encouraging weapon mounted lights and holsters is criminally negligent at this point.
>>
>>32831326

Not the person you're replying to, but,

>How often are you in situations where you're shooting in the dark?

About 2-3 times per month in the winter, when my club's Wednesday evening idpa shoot happens under cover of darkness. Then it's really nice to have a weapon-mounted light. So, my advice to OP: get tlr-1, shoot in dark. It's fun.
>>
>>32831870
>>32831934
I'm not a cop.

>>32831954
No one shoots in the dark here.
>>
>>32831766
Apparently $100
>>
>>32831326
It doesn't even matter if you are shooting in the dark or not for the TLR-1 to be of use on a handgun.
The weight of the TLR-1, positioned nicely on the rail on my P226, helps reduce muzzle climb and keep my rounds on target when shooting. The added weight also helps to mitigate small movements caused by unsteady hands (not Michael Fox hands, just natural instability). The illumination it provides is an added bonus when in dark situations.

That's like a whopping $40 more than what I have, I spent more replacing my micro mount just so I could have some memes to shitpost with. How poor are you for that to mean anything?
>>
Just bought a nitenumen from gear best. Sometimes you have to be well-informed to get a good buy without sacrificing quality. The Ade Advanced Optics Flip Up Front and Rear BUIS that I got was also phenomenal for the price. Spring loaded and does not feel cheap pic related.
>>
>>32832406
The Omega rail is also made with the delta ring in mind, and since it appears you no longer have yours...
>>
>>32831223
Tell me how a device that allows you to adhere to the fundamental rule of identifying your target is conspicuous consumption? Especially with the likelyhood of a defensive shoot with a handgun involving lowlight.

In the grand scheme of things they may be relatively new, but that was due more To technological limitation.

I mostly agree with your statement, but not when it comes to wml
>>
>>32831998
Idk about you, but I hope I never have to use my light or my gun, but that doesn't mean I get to choose the time of day that it may happen
>>
>>32832600
I fucking bought one of those and it was DOA
>>
>>32832933
thats bs, what part is broken and pics?
>>
>>32832108
I like the feeling of the P226 in my hand, but pointing it and shooting it I hate it.

>sights don't line up as naturally as a glawk or 1911 for me
>trigger has a mile of travel

I really want to like it.
>>
>>32830924
It's worth the money.

Normal flashlights suck fucking ass and will break under recoil. If they don't break then they are too heavy to use. If they aren't too heavy and they don't break then they aren't bright enough or are otherwise unsuitable.
>>
>>32831326
I had to investigate bumps in the night before, and its nice to have when I walk my dogs at night. If you want to be a Fudd though, keep doing it.

Way to follow weapon safety.
>>

/biz/ please go and stay go. We dont hace the capacity for that kind of planning and organization
>>
>>32831261
I dunno Anon, being able to see shit sounds pretty useful to me. Especially when you can achieve it while also holding the gun with both hands.
>>
>>32831326
>How often are you in situations where you're shooting in the dark?
How often are you in situation you absolutely need a gun?

>Anyone who thinks these are appliances and not toys is completely deluded
By your logic guns are toys too and so are seat belts.
>>
>>32830924
Inforce APL.

The toggle switches are difficult to manipulate under stress. With the inforce there's just two big buttons that operate one way, by straight press. With the TLR and streamlights you flip a switch up on one side and down on the other. More difficult to train for and get used to. They also look ugly on guns, non integrated design and long as fuck.
>>
>>32831326
How often are you in situations where you're saved by a seat belt?

You people are just sitting behind keyboards hoping for a dindu to crash into your mom's car so you can save her with your expensive seat belt.

I got suckered by the CHEAP (relatively) price of the seat belt on sale. It feel retarded. It's completely fucking useless. Anyone who thinks these are appliances and not toys is completely deluded
