if you're wanting one so much then go to some trashcan country like russia or serbia, kosovo, syria, and buy one, cut the receiver with a band saw, and cut the barrel and ship it over as airsoft parts. Reweld the receiver, and have a gunsmith make a new barrel. or talk to your shady neighborhood arms dealer into getting one from mexico or central america.

Also, its not just VRA-treaty either. Russkies have SVD in category of military weapons that can be only exported to foreign military buyer. Hence for them to sell any to civilian market would require modifying the rifles to make them "hunting rifles", which they can export to civilian market. Few years back there was a batch of SVD that was exported from Russia to here with some modifications such as removal of bayonet attachment.

I'd meet you, but I doubt you'd be able to sneak an AK past border security, and I know there are almost no spots on the border unwatched in some way.
