Its a $150 difference between a new sd9 and a new m&p. Ive owned both and I own a gen 2 m&p as well. The difference is negligible. The only difference is adjustable backstraps.

I think maybe you're just an inexperienced shooter, and you cant handle a slightly heavier trigger. Caniks are t*rkshit and belong in the garbage. I would say the Ruger is probably the better pistol, but that doesn't change the fact that the SD9 is excellent for $300.
