I saw one of those at the LGS for $150 seemed like a fun little.gun is it worth it.

Kick is the worst part, makes me crai every time. Thanks Anon, have a meme.
>>32825715
Got my boy one of those in .410 for his first gun. Not real impressed with it. He'll be 35 before he's strong enough to pull the hammer back by himself. Slug accuracy was dreadful. It works though, can't complain for $100.
I'm a cheapfag looking for a half decent 12 gauge 8 shot shotgun, is the maverick 88 security good?
>>32825871
>Kick is the worst part, makes me crai every time.
pussy
>>32826012
It's a stick with a trigger, nothing to absorb recoil. I shoot Mosins and Mausers fine, but this'll need a recoil pad.

pussy
>>32826035
Or maybe you're a stick with a trigger.
>>32825903
Yes. If you are lucky you can even manage to hunt down a 500 or 590 around the same price in pawnshops
From the truck gun thread
>>32825903
Yeah. Watch out for rust though. Mine seems to get it really easily on the barrel and magazine tube.
Stoeger coach coming through
>>32826274
Doesn't the fore end hit the side saddle when you pump?
>>32826441
How is it? I hear mixed reviews on stoeger but it looks so fun
>>32826502
My only complaint is the buttstock is solid wood with a plastic butt pad. After a couple boxes my shoulder gets kinda sore. I need to invest in a rubber butt pad...

Even in the post-apocalyptic nightmare of Britain, this statement still rings true. I love my 1100, even if it does just refuse to work on some days.

I like to go trap shooting and sometimes hunt fowl and they're good for either of those activites, you don't need to put a plug in them for hunting either
>>32825898
You can modify it to be an easier pull. Some other anon did it. I think you just have to loosen a screw
I am thinking of purchasing a Benelli supernova Tactical as my first shotgun.
Y/N?
>>32828752
>>32828735
Depends what you want to do with it I guess.
>>32827853
>even if it does just refuse to work on some days
Yours is newer so I might not be able to help, but what's going on with it? 1100s should run like a champ no matter what, although I know Remington had some QC issues they are still trying to clean up.
>>32828035
Damn nice find. Barrels are $200-250, not much considering how nice of a bird gun you'll have. Mine also makes for a great clay slayer.

They're fun. Usually a little pricey for being what they are, just glorified pipes. But very fun.
>>32829279

>>32828791
From what I can remember when we looked it up, mine is from the 70s or 80s. It's in pretty good condition overall, just the gas rings are rusted to shit. Yu can't leave them on the gun in storage or they'll rust themselves together.
I bought a brand new set of gas rings, and it just doesn't work with those at all. Any combination of the newer/older parts doesn't work either, it just refuses to work without the original gas rings.
It's been cleaned and lubed no end of times. We're using two little O-rings instead of the one big one that came from somewhere, since the big O-ring won't work.
Like I said, some days it runs like a train and shoots great, but when it starts malfunctioning, it just keeps doing it.
>>32825862
They costed $100 at Walmart. I have one with a 20" barrel. Atlantic offers those for $175 and Gunbroker had em for far less than that.

hell of a shotgun
I don't have any guns, but if I were to get a shotgun, which one should I get?
>>32829915
Depends on what you want to use it for. If it's for skeet/trap, a double-barreled gun is better for various reasons; if you just want a good fuck-around gun that you don't have to worry about, get a Maverick 88 off Buds or another online store for ~$200. It's your bog-standard budget pump-action shotgun - if you want to go looking, pawn shops and local gunshops will probably have older Remington 870s or other Mossberg shotguns for about the same price, but these are slightly higher-quality than a Maverick.
>>32827993
If and only if they massively revamp the outer design and make it closed bolt. Internal gas system is top titties but the box needs to go.
>>32829238
I have a FN A5 light 20 magnum.
DO IT.
This gun is an heirloom from my grandfather, and it should last generations to come.
Make way, make way.

>>32830030
Good. Local pawnshop had like 4 older A5's so I'll probably grab the nicest. Along with their P38

I didn't realize they made them in synthetic black like that back then and assumed it was newer.
You're not lubing the gas and o-rings, are you? 1100s like to be run dry in the gas system.
For the rust I don't know what to tell you, except that mine stays rust free and I have it out of the case almost all the time at home since it's my primary HD long gun.
For the gas rings, around 1986 Remington changed something and the gas rings are not interchangeable between guns made before and after the change. Most new replacement parts don't mention this, and if your's is older that is probably the issue you had with the new ones.
Once you get it running, you will never want another gun. I've been in the market for a new semi-auto for a few months now, and nothing I've shot compares to the 1100. All the newer guns are either too light for my taste, or are just clearly not made as well.
>>32825775
So does any Mossberg 500 furniture fit on a 590? I thought the forend assembly was different or something.

Sounds like you're triggered, m8. Sorry that you're a pooswah.
Tactical goodness.
>>32829289
Well, you just posted a new production, Italian Aesthetic piece that is sexy as hell. And pricey as Benelli goes.
Also, I believe that in EU over-unders are the vast majority of double barrels. Here in Italy, if you remove the semiautos, we have nothing else basically.
Family pic of my shotguns and other stuff. Old picture.

I guess that's true, but it still feels like a lot.
Also, I highly doubt it'll replace my vepr12 as a clay gun. It's just way too much fun. But I'll definitely throw it into the mix of guns I use.
What I really want to get is one of those choked 22 smoothbores for 22lr birdshot.
A friend of mine has one and it's so much fun to hit clays with it. That's one of my first shotgun moneypits.
>patterns at 5 feet with a normal 22
literal feet, impossible to hit anything without being right next to it
>patterns at 5 feet with the smoothbore
nice and tight pattern that I can even shoot skeet with
>>32827017
It's like any under barrel attachment, how do you like to grab you weapon.
If you aren't proficient with the setup, then you're at a disadvantage.
With all that being said, I would have to stick a fucking fore grip on the side like a damn sten.

I've heard the Vepr12s are really finnicky with lighter ammo. How is the reliability?
>>32836133
>How is the reliability?
All but perfect. I think on the first or second mag I ever put through it the BHO failed.
Then I've been shooting clays since summer 2013, and had 3 failures the whole time. All happened on the last shot where the shell didn't have quite enough power to get to the ejector so it ended up back in the chamber. Not a big deal on the last shot in the mag though.
The BHO must put just enough extra pressure/friction on the bolt so that it couldn't make it to the ejector those few times.
I should also add that I let my vepr12 get dirty as all hell between cleanings. That probably doesn't help.
