Everything later then the abominations served in Desert Shield is reasonably good. Fukin' noobs don't know about the swollen Ham Slice of doom.

C-rations weren't bad either. Date nut bread was excellent and I rather liked ham and limas (brought my own Tabasco of course).

I ate MREs on deployment to save walking and waiting at da chow hall. Would do again. They are convenient energy food but overpriced if you pay for them yourself. Perfect SHTF food though because most people don't like them enough to gobble their stock early.

We used to pour the heater contents into a two liter soda bottle with some water, cap it, and slide it under the bench in our expediter trucks. :)
